I have to say, I’m not a fan of this type of research, where the person doing the research takes a less than impartial position. While the whole trolls and bots discussion is interesting and relevant to me, these articles tend to want to just want to use research results to smeer the opposite side. There’s no middle ground. It’s a vicious cycle of us versus them, which will end up doing a lot of damage to beloved properties, which have been hijacked by extremists from both sides, bend on pushing their agendas down people’s throats, whether they be called the alt-right, white supremacists, liberals, or sjw’s.

Is there a benefit to actually watching these versions at all today though?
They’re really the best version of the OT that we have. The anamorphic fan-edits take care of the subtitles problem so that you don’t have to zoom in and chop off the titles.
Or, are you comparing them to the Harmy edits?
And the other various and sundry restorations, I’d wager.

Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982) - Besides some questionable elements (including one of the worst romances I have ever seen on film), this is a delightfully twisted and unsettling tale. Wouldn’t call it one of the best ever horror films by any means, but it has a couple sequences that I’d put pretty high up there. B-

It’s a misunderstood, underrated and overlooked movie. A seasonal witch for me every October.

Friday the 13th Part III (1982) - Despite finally giving Jason his mask and a few good kills, this falls squarely into the trashy cliched slasher category. Gotta love those 3D motivated shots (especially ridiculous when not viewed in 3D).
My favourite is the ludicrously poor popped eyeball.
I don’t get the “even numbered ST films = good ST films” thing. I don’t think The Voyage Home is anything special, and Nemesis is straight-up garbage.

Last night, I had the most terrible nightmare. Now this is unusual for me, because I rarely have dreams I consider nightmares; I may experience scenarios/imagery that is bizarre, even creepy, but rarely do they frighten me. The one I experienced last night, though, was a bona fide nightmare — quite possibly the worst I’ve ever had.
Thankfully, I remember very little of it. What I do remember, however, I wish I could forget. Imagine being trapped in a Fulci/Cronenberg collaboration — filled with murder, rape, bestiality, and humans transforming into grotesque monstrosities — and being unable to escape no matter how hard you try; that gives you some idea of what I experienced.
If there’s a positive to all this, it’s that I’m no longer eagre to experiment with hallucinogens. If my sleeping mind can subject me to such horrors, I’m positively afraid of what my waking mind on acid could subject me to.
