The Democrats are not doing well, they didn’t show up to the hearings for Trump’s nominees so the committee rules were suspended to allow them to continue without the party, and now the Senate will revoke the filibuster for the Supreme Court nomination.

If Dems continue to be a no-show, we’ll effectively end up in a one-party system fast.

I just remember Dominic saying that it was only the Republican’s who were making it all about “sides” and I did not agree. I certainly don’t relish being right at least some of the time but it’s been more than obvious that it is happening. People fear change but change is here and we either go down complaining or we find a way to make it positive for everyone as best we can.

Y’know, as indifferent as I am to the MCU (Daredevil notwithstanding), at least the characters (mostly) look like their classic comic book counterparts. With the DC films, everyone looks like a warped caricature conjured up from some really bad Elseworlds story.

Though the art was a mixed bag, the dialogue could reach PT-levels of cringe-worthiness at times, and its depiction of the Great Sith War was far too truncated, I still quite like the Tales of the Jedi comics.

Unlike many of the later stories set in the same timeframe, TOTJ actually looked like it took place 4000-5000 years before the OT, with technology/architecture/clothing looking far clunkier/archaic than anything seen in the films. Plus TOTJ legitimately expanded the SW Universe; it would’ve been so easy to insert some Skywalker/Solo/Organa/etc. ancestors into the stories, but the writers never did; the characters were wholly original with no apparent connections to anyone from the films.

When the nuEU comics get around to telling stories set in the “Old Republic” era, I hope they return to the aesthetics and world-building of TOTJ instead of going the KOTOR/TOR route.
