“I must make two honest confessions to you, my Christian and Jewish brothers. First, I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to ‘order’ than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: ‘I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action’; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a ‘more convenient season.’ Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.”

If you need to compliment or praise something... this is the place

Love allowed me to evolve beyond the rabid homo/transphobia I espoused as a teenager/young adult. I can now look upon men who love men, women who love women, women in the bodies of men, men in the bodies of women, and every permutation in between and beyond, and see them as children of God equal to any hetero cisman/ciswoman.

If that ain’t worthy of praise, I don’t know what is.

I’ve seen Aliens twice. I wasn’t wowed either time. So the xenomorphs are just giant dumb bugs ruled by a gianter less dumb bug. As unimaginative/reductive a concept as the Borg Queen.

And on that note: Star Trek: First Contact is the best TNG movie — which isn’t saying much. The continuity is ass, both with TOS and TNG proper. You have to ignore every Borg-centric TNG episode post-TBOBW to make Picard’s characterization sensible to any degree, which is lazy storytelling, plain & simple.

I find the majority of films in the MCU to be overrated. They are released far too quickly and focus way too much on CGI action that ends up looking fake. Nothing can replace practical effects for me.

This. Plus most of them aren’t real films; they’re feature-length trailers for the next Avengers movie in the pipeline. I drop-kicked that pile of hot garbage once its true nature became obvious.

The 'Final' Season Of The Simpsons (Possible Team Project?)
Time

Nice to see this thread. I’ve mulled over this concept time-to-time.

Initially, I’d have left Season 9 alone. As mixed as it is, I still feel the good outweighs the meh/bad. But then I realized there simply aren’t enough decent episodes in Season 10+ to put together a quality 26-episode season; there’s enough for maybe a 13-episode season? I dunno — I quit watching the show regularly after Season 14.

SEASON Ω

  1. “Lisa’s Sax”
  2. “Treehouse of Horror Ω” (includes the intro from “XII”, The HΩmega Man from “VIII”, The Terror of Tiny Toon from “IX”, & I Know What You Diddily-Iddily-Did from “X”.)
  3. “The Cartridge Family”
  4. “The Two Mrs. Nahasapeemapetilons”
  5. “Lisa the Skeptic” (I’d re-edit this one to remove/reduce Lisa’s antagonism towards belief in angels)
  6. “Realty Bites”
  7. “Miracle on Evergreen Terrace”
  8. “Bart Carny”
  9. “The Joy of Sect”
  10. “Dumbbell Indemnity” (I’d re-edit this one to keep Moe & Renee together.)
  11. “Lisa the Simpson”
  12. “King of the Hill”
  13. “Lost Our Lisa”
  14. “Natural Born Kissers”
  15. “The Wizard of Evergreen Terrace”
  16. “Bart the Mother”
  17. “D’oh-in’ in the Wind”
  18. “Lisa Gets an “A””
  19. “Maximum Homerdrive”
  20. “Take My Wife, Sleaze”
  21. “Alone Again, Natura-Diddily”
  22. “Days of Wine and D’oh’ses”
  23. “The Computer Wore Menace Shoes”
  24. “Trilogy of Error”
  25. “The Blunder Years”
  26. “Behind the Laughter”

I’d also incorporate Stupid Sexy Flanders from “Little Big Mom” and the Adam West Batman scene from “Large Marge” in any of these episodes. Dunno where they’d fit best.
