If J. R. R. Tolkien was as gifted an editor as he was a writer, I may have been able to finish reading The Lord of the Rings. As-is, the books are too frikkin’ bloated.

I’m aware the colours are a bit different. I do prefer the colours of the older master(s), but the difference isn’t too great to bother me.

At the end of the day, it’s the entire series + the two spinoff movies; I wasn’t gonna past it up when I only had Volume 1 of Season 1 on DVD.

I’m not a Gnostic. I find its dualism problematic, actually. But I can still appreciate it. The Old Testament’s portrayal of God isn’t 100% ugly, but it still ascribes much ugliness to God. The Gnostics rightly recognized that ugliness as antithetical to the overall message of Jesus and rejected it; they just went a little too far.

First time hearing about this. He’s one of my favourite actors, and one of the few masculine men I’ve been attracted to. I hope his passing was a peaceful one.

I love Dark Empire. Dark Empire is what ROTJ should’ve been.

But not Dark Empire II/Empire’s End. Screw those.

Now I’ve got a vision in my head of Leia Organa, Queen of the New Alderaan colony on Tatooine, going around wearing nothing but some strategically placed belts and long gloves to cover up a pair of droid arms.

I think I might have done a little too much LDS, as they say. 😉
