who did that mockup with luke on the speeder bike aproaching jabbas palace? can anybody repost link please?

I was writing a story once, well actually i was writing two, one was for my own entertainment. One was a story set before episode 1, with Dooku and Qui Gon had heard about the trade federation was building some kind of defense droid scheme thing. Originally to defend trade from pirates etc. Dooku and Qui Gon were sent to investigate, forgot what happens exactly but Dooku gets shot, Qui Gon follows the ventilation shaft and escapes to Coruscant, Dooku gets trapped onboard the TF ship, talks to a dying Neimodian who wants to try and help people with his condition by learning to create ADVANCED replacement organs/limbs with the help of Darth Sidious who has his own plans etc.

In other words this book was going to be parallel to TPM thats how Qui Gon knows his way round and through the ventilation shafts etc. Try and explain Dooku's fall to the darkside, explain who deleted the planet out of the libary. But of course this story has already been explained in EU and also to many contradictions.

My second book was called The Legend of Nemelet, about a planet before ours existed. They live reached the peak of their technology until everything went wrong. Nobody speaks of it. The civilisations find crystals, four of them. They recieve powers from these crystals that give them a power of a certain element, fire, water, earth and air. They then have this idea that they could obtain other crystals from other countries which resulted in a world war. Due to Empodocles theory of hate seperates the elements the universe colapses on itself resulting in a inplosion and then a big bang, the beginning of our time, the crystals survive somehow and end up on earth, some people over time find them, making themselves into gods and religions around the world form. Four teenagers find the crystals and invest in the powers, one guy joins the illuminati who praise this guy with fire to enlighten them as they plan for world domination. Still working on the idea, tweaking it all the time so its not 7 stories in one and too many thing happen along with the main story of Nemelet etc. Still workin progress lol.

 Haha i love the methaphor and your totally right, the force was a mystical energy that could be wielded by anyone with the right training, the force was stronger with some families. But now it just seems like you have to have a certain cellular organisms that give you the connection, this was a stupid move by George and didnt expand our understanding of it or advance the plot. Yet another addition thing that was pointlssly put in these movies.

There are more text and stuff on now. In other words the pic arent so empty on the left hand side. Trying to think of a design for the PT is quite hard. I love this design because its big black and powerful and just eye catching.

Hey guys, didnt really know where to place this image to be honest. Just been working on a Star Wars revisited dvd cover for a new hope and thought i would share with you guys and see if you like, what could be improved etc.

Really wanted to go for a basic design and love the image of vader too. Wanted to make it black and powerful. I love it to be perfectly honest but totally open to critism :D

I know some of the details on the back are wrong and will be changed ;)

It's obviously based on the official style DVD covers and also a couple of fanmade one's out there. What do you guys think of it - any suggestions on how to improve it?

 very good now for comments: luke and vaders sabers look weird, yodas face is kinda strange near the bottom, the "revisited" should be shifted over to the left a little bit so the "the empire strikes back" is in between the end of the "R" and the end of the "D" and it looks a bit blurred, vader look kinda looks stretched and the end of Luke's saber is pointy/blocky.

 yea, the light sabers also look weird to me also. is luke's saber purple?

 Sorry to be so negative but its constructive critism not anything else. Vader looks squashed, Yoda looks too chalky, as if he were a chalk drawing. Luke's head looks like its been stuck on at a weird angle, his arm is also at a weird angle. Lightsaber blade too thick and short. As been mention the 'revisited' section needs to be moved to the left. Apart from that though i do love the positioning of it all though. I feel like making my own now, gonna go for an individul look though. ;)

Yeah, she does look frightened, but I thought she was trying to convey the weight of the fight ahead of them, which no-one else did. Maybe if other actors had considered conveying some fear, the threat might have sold better.

As it is, she looks terrified while the others look overconfident, which just dulls the threat for me.

 Maybe when she says something like "many bothans died to bring us this information" or something similar then maybe we could have few comments or loud whispers, maybe even have admiral ackbar starting his plan ending the whispering or something along those lines.

It would actually be more credible to not have Anakin there at all. Why would he just stoop there with his saber when he and Obi-Wan were both there? I say take him out. Less is more with Anakin. :D

But the real big problem with all of these subtle changes is that you cant polish a turd.

 Trouble is with removing anakin from that section then the next bit wouldnt make much sense that anakin would also be holdin on, unlessed sucked from the other side of the bridge.

Dont want this thread to die, maybe we should concentrate on making prequel creatures more like the OT trilogy creatures, maybe more useful to fix new creatures than already old ones that have appeared in numourous edits.

I started this before Adywan had ever mentioned ROTJ:R...actually I got alot of the ideas from the Starkiller Ranch thread...back when it was still alive...*sniff*  ;)
I started this video about two years ago and continued to add and change things as i went along.
Some ideas I first started off with don't seem near as fesible now (new 3PO dialouge)...plus some ideas seem a bit...fan boy-ish.
But there are some ideas I do like...that being the main reason I decided to finally post it now. I want it to be floating around for a while so people can watch and comment on what they like and don't like...maybe this will help Adywan with some ideas...we'll have to wait and see!

Oh! And I'd better comment now that I *don't* want Hayden in this version...I simply don't have a good copy of the GOUT to use. :D

 Really loved the video, apart from few minor things like reused clips but apart from that I loved Han being concerned for Luke, shows he has grown as a character. I think what Ackbar said about the rebels have won needs somekind of different dialogue, like the emporer has been defeated, not the empire. Wouldnt mention that the rebels had won because we had just seen that and Ric Olie has an excuse to be in ROTJ wouldnt ya Ric?

I know it was my own idea but i like the idea of trying to make these Ewoks more like Jungle tribes. Spears, shields and bows are enough and as someone said, i forget who (all credit to them) pit and traps. On there physical appeareanes then i believe some thing more like bones to there costumes etc. Little trickets of dead animals and people perhaps.

I think regarding the older of the ewoks they should look more aggresive and maybe leave the female ewoks if we can identify them alone with all the cuteness, have the men of the village look aggresive and more warrior like.

For example, being british i watched this and loved it, so i know to a degree how tribes work and who would fight and people's places in that tribe too

Im not sexiest lol. Just that most tribes consider men to be 'the boss', the leaders, thats why they carry the bows and the children and women arent battle ready.

C3PO like god on the shields? Just a quick idea, been playin with few ideas, wanted to go for a cave painting kinda thing. On the over all design i was going to have a cave painting like thing of ewoks carry the 'god' based on a Ralph concept paintings. C3PO decending from the heavens, but i thought i would give this a go first lol

Add The god of ewoks as insignia on the shields somewhere. I think some PT shields/weapons have some good markings you can see as reference :)

 Haha thought there would be something lol. was thinking of adding a c3po like god on their shields at first lol. Thinkin about a symbol for them too. Like the empire, rebels, seperatist, republic, jedi etc all have symbols apart from the ewoks.

Well not only would it be impossible to have Vader vs. Palpatine, it would be pointless, as well. I mean, really, if they duelled, it would be over within a few seconds. Palpatine doesn't even need a lightsaber (I think ROTS needs plenty of work in this regard), he'd peel Vader apart with ease, just using the Force. As was said, he's the evil counterpart to Yoda, and Yoda would kick Luke and Vader's asses at the same time, without a lightsaber.

 

Now obviously Vader kills Palpatine, but that's only because he got the drop on him, and Palpatine still managed to get a fatal blow in.

 

On a different note, I know most people hate the Ewoks, and most reasons for that are obvious, but what sort of things can be done to make them a bit less childish? Obviously, removing their antics is key, and doing things like adding Stormtrooper helmets in their village as in the mockups, to make them seem more like strong warriors, are great, but it doesn't get past the fact that they are cuddly little teddy bears with spears. I assume Adywan will want to Cantinize their faces, but what about changing things like eyes completely? Or changing their voices to be more agressive and threatening? Just small things here and there in their appeances, since they inherently look childish, to try and minimize that.

 You see George Lucas had a brilliant idea but his execution was terrible. He wanted to show that a less technilogical race could overcome a more technilogical race. For example the Zulu with spears and shield vs the British army with guns. This is why i suggest that giving some ewoks, not all though, a shield. A wooden shield. Fair enough it wouldnt be strong enough to survive a laser blast but would show that these creatures are warriors and less cuddly.

Shanerjedi i have indeed seen Mangoliafans edit of TPM and wasnt happy with the portrail of Jar Jar in that film, his adult themed comedy and i believe some swearing? wasnt very star wars to me at all and thought it quite ruined the watchablilty of it. Almost like Transformers with the mom askin the main character if he was masturbating in his room. I just thought it was totally unneeded in the film. I personally wouldnt like to see half the film in subtitles either but this is purely an idea i wanted to do and maybe for ppl like Mangoliafan to consider.

Off topic but i really have this desire to rewrite the prequels just for fun, based on the ideas of ppl on here and my own thoughts lol

 In that scene unfortunately it didnt need much changing which i realised half way through, much of that script as been cut due to Jar Jar originally pilotting and Obi Wan taking over. I have changed the reason why Jar Jar was banished because the explanation in the film was not even an explanation, it was some about a boom da gasser and crashen the bosses heyblebber or something like that, but as you have already said i have lost the accent, hopefully to be redubbed in an alien language and used as subtitles or in just english.
