Yeah, I would prefer to keep it to PMs only. Especially since last year when the amount I was getting spiked after it went viral on TikTok.

I’ll still send you the PM, androzaniminer, but from now on, any later ones should only be via that.

I’m really enjoying this way of watching the show - really highlights how carefully constructed the character arcs were (and, occasionally, not so carefully!)

Can anyone else who’s watched/watching these help me find a missing piece? Desmond meets Penny halfway through episode 10, then the next time we meet him (in ep 11) he’s in the army already. Where’s the section in London with the photograph?

That’s placed between the moment when Desmond turns the key and the hatch imploding. From what I remember, it’s been discussed before where it’s placement should be. I kept it the same as the original Chronological edit.

I’ve never used Internet Archive for uploading anything yet. I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t stay up there long, especially with how big this series is. I had a look to see what the stance for fanedits were like on Archive and it seems to be hit-or-miss, particularly content owned by Disney etc.

I saw this on tiktok and I need this in my life. I have always wanted to watch lost but we were unwilling to spend that much time to just be super confused. When the idea of having it in chronological order and understandable I soooo want to have this in my library.

Yeah, it did tend to get confusing at times, though watching this edit certainly isn’t gonna help with that, but that’s up to you here. lol

Yeah, I noticed that I suddenly got more requests for it all at once. I’m guessing this was the reason? lol I don’t use Tiktok, only did a quick Google search by date

https://www.tiktok.com/@the_real_ivy_doll/video/7393142647428238634

Whatever gets more interest I guess. Though admittedly, I still haven’t rewatched Lost since I did this remaster.

Would still like to get some sort of upload that isn’t a torrent out there again, though it hasn’t worked out in the past. Google Drive had constant bandwidth exceeded that made it impossible to download and the Mega link got taken down (TOS reasons maybe).

If anyone is able to do that, hit me up.

Info: Star Wars: Episode III - VHS Australian release
Time

Little bump here, copy pasting most of what I posted in the Goblet of Fire thread from being the same topic.

I’ve done a new V2 capture of this tape. I wasn’t really impressed with my last one looking back at it, mainly from the smearing artifact that was present from my DVD recorder passthrough (for S-Video out). I upgraded my VCR to a S-VHS deck sometime ago, but my old capture device would have massive warping making it useless without the DVD recorder, so I kept it.

An example of the smearing:

Recently I changed my capture device to a Hauppauge USB-Live 2 (as a recommendation from someone) which plays much better with my S-VHS deck, so I could remove the DVD recorder and the smearing it added. There may be a tiny bit of warping but nothing noticeable, certainly the best I’ll get without forking $$$$ on an external TBC.

Since there’s no smearing now, I’ve done a Progressive encode for the film itself this time also to help it quality-wise while keeping it for single layer DVD, while everything else is Interlaced. Certainly better than the original where I actually captured it deinterlaced already and got reinterlaced it. lol

A tiny little bit of combing can be seen in spots, mostly on the top of the frame, if you pause it which I was gonna blend, but it made the picture more softer than I expected, so I left it untouched. I played it back on my CRT and it looks fine, so I didn’t need to do it.

Comparison shot between the two as far as the finer detail goes. I was gonna use Framecompare but the site has refused to work for myself for months now, so here’s both:

Original:

Version 2:

So if there’s anyone that’s wanting a replacement for this, feel free to send a DM. I stopped responding to requests in threads ever since I got no emails (for some reason) for at least a months worth on the Chronologically LOST HD thread.

UPDATE: The Mega links I had sent out just got removed recently, no idea if it was ToS related. Don’t remember who uploaded it but there’s another link Mike posted on his Chronologically Lost blog I missed before. So for the meantime, torrent is the only option, you can either find it on there or you can still send a DM for it.

UPDATE: Just replied to everyone here since my last “PM sent” message. I think from now on, please PM me instead of posting on here. I still get emails on PMs but not for Subscriptions on topics anymore, no idea why.

Also tested the first BD disc on a PS4 Pro and Xbox Series X. Series X plays it just fine and PS4 is glitchy just like PS5, so god knows what’s up with the player (or encoder?) on PS4/PS5. Don’t have a standalone BD player on hand to try it out on so I can’t confirm on that.

Oof, looks like the email notification stopped working for myself on this, just noticed the flood of replies on here I missed. I’ll get to those in the morning.

I got your message though, wigjuice, and it’s nice to see some more stuff being done with Lost here. 😃

In other news, I just discovered that my original x264 encode (which I still have), doesn’t seem to be liked on my PS5 (very stuttery and constant glitchy artifacting) yet it used a Blu-ray profile when encoding in Premiere. lol But it may be a player basis as my PS3 played it perfectly fine, no idea about any others yet, I’ve only done one disc so far with the first 7 episodes. I was gonna start a BD author on those files so they still have some use and not just sitting on another HDD, though it is rather large compared to the x265 release at over 500gb, so I’d imagine it being a very niche version.

THanks, feronstost. 😃

Just gonna drop this in here. The “Pushing the Button” podcast recently did an interview with Mike with a shoutout to this remaster at the end. But overall an interesting listen:
