Star Wars GOUT in HD using super resolution algorithm (* unfinished project *)

Here are a number of comparisons between SRV11 and SRV12. I've adjusted the settings for SRV12 somewhat.

The difference between SRV10/SRV11 and SRV12 is that the antialiasing is far better for V12.

Here is a comparison with SRV10 and SRV11,

The dehaloing was discussed a number of posts ago. The conclusion was that it destroyed too much detail.

That might be the case in some instances, but I do not believe it's the case for the example you used ;-). Here's a comparison with the same frame for Harmy's DE:

The door frame and stormtrooper on the right are clearly in focus, and also the stormtrooper on the left is more in focus than seen in the GOUT.

Sadly no screenshots yet for TESB, but here are a few more for SW done with SRV12:

Have you guys considered it might be the digital cleanup that causes the socalled compression problems (I'm also addressing the members who have seen the preview)? Considering what Adywan said, I find it hard to believe it is the actual compression that is the culprit. However, digital cleanup and compression have a lot in common. I'm reminded of this post, where the cleanup clearly destroyed a lot of detail:

Looking at that comparison, it is clear that apart from the obvious problem, a certain amount of depth and clarity appears to have been lost, although it is difficult to see at that resolution.

I think it might be a good idea for the team to post some screenshot comparisons at high quality to see what's been gained and what has been lost.

Thanks for the positive feedback!

Back to the aspect ratio mystery. Here's two comparisons with Harmy's DE. Some aspects of the frames seem to suggest that the AR should be wider, while others suggest to opposite. Anyone?

Who is an early supporter and who isn't seems to have become a little murky lately. I don't have a problem with the fact that contributers (financial or otherwise) to the project get an early preview, but why make this big announcement on an open forum, if only a select few get to see it initially? It's like an announcement that says we're having a party and you're not invited. However, if you wait at the door, we probably will let you in eventually.
