It’s difficult to get rid of, because the bluray is really full of these artifacts as you can see:

I think I’ve managed to find the more accurate warmer colors for the Owen/C-3PO shot (note how the color artifacts on the sandcrawler and Owen’s coat have disappeared):

I actually disagree about these shots. Although it might appear they are bright or blown out, with crushed blacks, this is actually how these shots look on the Technicolor prints. All home video releases have been low contrast, making these scenes much dimmer than they actually were back in 1977 in a theatre. Also, the bluray has such black crush, that you can’t really get anything from the dark areas, except digital noise and artifacts.

I based the Leia shots on Mike Verta’s grading for this shot, although I reduced the saturation and the reds, and removed the Technicolor green shift that was in the shot. Also Carrie Fisher is pretty pale skinned:

I think I agree about the three shots. There’s something off about them, like there’s some weird filter. I’ll take another look.

The issue with the green artifacts in the Obi-Wan frame has also been fixed (I’ve updated the image above).

Thanks! I think I see the difference. I will add the option to choose between a Resolve LUT and After Effects LUT. The update should be available by early next week.

Could one of you share a LUT that you created with the tool and one you transformed in Resolve, such that I can figure out where the difference is?

I finally managed to do a proper correction of the Technicolor print scans for the Luke/Obi-Wan exchange. I think it’s looking pretty good.
