It's fair game, one of the very first sections of the bitching thread was about how someone's grandfather was about to die, he died, everyone consoled him, and moved on to the next bitching. What's the period of back-slapping necessary before other people can post their OWN good news?

not sure.  maybe you have a point here in that it wasn't handled the same in Ender's good news thread as it was in the b****ing thread.   Of course, the thread was for b****ing, so it is of no surprise that people would b**** there.  Maybe having a swear word in the title makes all the difference, I don't know.   Maybe Ender should have made it clear in his original post in his good news thread that he didn't want dirty stuff there.  Would that have made a difference?  Don't know.  DrCrow made it clear he didn't want dirty stuff in his good news thread and hotrod still posted something dirty.   As I said, maybe you do have a point here.

 Yes exactly.  I was the one movie out of hotrods way so he could do whatever he wanted.  I haven't complained about his post in my thread because I have him on ignore and no one quoted him so so far I have not had to read his post so I have no idea what he said.

my purpose in creating that thread was to stop conflict not cause it.  I saw Ender was getting upset but Hotrod in that thread as well so I started a new thread instead of asking Hotrod to change his posts.

People keep saying I was childish or making a personal attack on Hotro by doing this but I don't understand how I was doing that.  If in public someone came up to me and started saying the things Hotrod was saying about his wife in person I would walk away because really when someone starts cursing out his wife in public over their sex life and giving me every detail of it in a public space I just have the urge to slap that person and it makes me feel a little ill but I was always told doing that sort of thing was wrong and I don't expect to be able to control what he posts.  So instead of trying to control him I made a thread where people like Ender and myself could avoid him and he could say whatever he wanted everywhere else.  I thought I was doing the adult thing and it would end the conflict because there once there was a clean good news thread no one would have any grounds to complain about Hotrod's posts any more,but I guess I was wrong.

Sorry I seem to have wrecked the boards by trying to do what I thought was the adult thing and there doesn't seem to be any end to this conflict.

I guess I was really being childish I don't know because alot of people seem to be offended that I didn't like Hotrod's post.

So I am leaving it up to you if you think I have stepped out of line with my response to Hotrod and it is causing too much conflict on these boards please PM me or post here. I really think this has gone on too long and is wrecking a nice forum where people seem to get along more or less pretty well and I don't want to be the cause of that.  So if the majority vote that I stepped out of line by not liking Hotrod's posts and trying to avoid them I will delete my account at the end of the week.

Even on meds I some times have trouble telling if I have stepped out of line so I need your feedback on this.

I really don't want this to continue to tear this forum apart so let's either stop talking about it or have me as the guilty party leave the forum but one of those two things needs to happen.

That seems to be the only adult way left to deal with this problem if you ask me.

 No but I think that would have caused me less pain then playing through that game and dealing with the bugs and cashes and my favorite character being sidelined only to that ending.

 I am pretty sure Ireland is already a separate nation.  I think you are referring  to Northern Ireland here.

Still you make a good point,that is most likely it. There were certain sections of the Roman Empire who never tried to break away from Rome after being conquered because they were assimilated so well into the empire,that could be the case here as well. 

If there are any Welsh users here can you confirm if this is the case?  I find this whole issue very interesting.

 Yeah this is a case of a good game where you should avoid all spin off media. Even the FFVII spin off games were pretty bad.

I don't worship FFVII the way most gamers may age seem to(FFVIII was my first game so I seem to be the only person who likes it better then FFVII,I know I am a freak but I like the junction and draw system)but even I can see that the movie and the spin off games are nowhere near as good as the game they spun off from.

For me it's a tie between FFVIII and FFIX.

FFVIII was my first FF game and the first RPG I played all the way to the end(I gained 40 pounds spending six months exploring every inch of this game staying inside instead of riding my bike every day like I used to)and it holds a special place in my heart and I seem to be one of the few people who likes the characters in this game and didn't mind the plot twists. In my mind all the FF games even seven have somewhat silly stories and plot twists so that is part of the charm for me.

FFIX is to ne the perfect FF game.  I know it is silly but to me everything works.  The graphics are stylized in such away that to me they still look good,The characters and world are really fun,and the gameplay is just perfect for a turn based RPG. It's easy to play and everything is set up in a logical fashion so you never feel lost and you are always having fun but it is hard to master and unlike some other games every time I die I don't feel like the game cheated,I feel like I just need to think about what I did and fight smarter next time and I no point was a tempted to give up on the game.  In short from start to finish I had a blast with FFIX and it is one of those games that I keep coming back to again and again.

Oh one thing of note now I am not trying to belittle or understate all of the battles that were fought between Scotland and England over so many centuries but it always seemed to me that if anyone was going to leave the UK it would be Wales.

I mean if anyone was completely crushed and forced into the Empire it was the Welsh,I mean the reason the next in line for the throne of Britain is the Prince of Wales is because they were so completely crushed.  By comparison the joining of the Parliments of Scotland and England was fairly peaceful and some of the king of the UK were Kings of Scotland. 

Yet oddly enough the Welsh seem to be the one group in the UK I never hear about wanting to leave.

Now anyone from the Uk feel free to correct me if I am wrong about this but over here in the States it seems like every few years we hear about how some group in Ireland or Scotland wants to leave the UK but I never seem to hear about the Welsh wanting to leave,and yet studying British history it seems like the Welsh were treated just as badly if not worse by the English then the Irish or Scots.

I just found that the few copies of 3D movie maker that are on Ebay go for around $30,now I feel even better about getting it for .50 a few days ago at a thrift store!:)

Oh and it is one of the few games from my childhood that installs and plays on a modern PC without having to tweek or change anything.

Can you tell that the smallest thing can make me happy now that I am on my meds?:)

I think I cracked the back of a story I have been working on in my head for years finally.  The last plot hole fixed it's self and now all of the characters' actions make sense.  Now comes the hard part,writing it all down.

Here is an interesting question(at least I think so),is there a difference between a game and an interactive toy?

What I mean is I see some people drawing the line and say that if a game doesn't have levels or defined objectives it's not a game it's an interactive toy. 

This is an interesting question to me because some of my favorite "games" from when I was a kid don't fit the mold of being a game.  I mean is something like 3D movie maker really a game or is it a toy? What about the Sims games,are they games or toys that happen to be on a computer?

If there is a line between video games and video toys where is that line?

What do you think?

Some of my family came over from Scottland around 100 years ago but I didn't learn much about Scottland and how modern people in scottland view things when I grew up and I am learning all sorts of things I didn't know and I am finding this thread very interesting.

A kitten wondered onto our property from the fields a few days ago and unlike all the other cats this one has decided she like me best and sits on my right shoulder for hours while I play Halo Wars and watch Fringe so I got to name her.  I named her Eggroll because I think there is just about enough meat on her to make an Eggroll.
