I'm something of an avid Cones of Dunshire player.

I've always felt like lightsabers are useless weapons for none force users. Blasters would be better for them. Think about how no one uses swords anymore. The difference being that lightsabers can block blaster beams, but only Jedi have the sensitivity to actually do that.
Also, when lightsabers used to be heavy, it would not be advantageous for non Jedi to use them in a duel or otherwise.
Here's a pretty handy list: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086190/trivia?tab=gf&ref_=tt_trv_gf
I didn't realize the racial stereotypes until recently. When I was a kid, I never noticed them. To me, they were just aliens. No kid's going to see TPM and think, "hey Jews suck, right?" Nope, that's not going to happen.
But that doesn't mean it's not an issue. Let's avoid that in future installments.
But, if we talk about the changes that nobody talks about, that means somebody has now talked about them...
Tatooine in scene 36 everybody!
More important than references, the original trilogy continues to strongly influence the majority of science fiction/fantasy and blockbuster films made today. The prequels? Not so much.

IIRC, the ESB adaptation paperback was printed in color and had the original concept art Yoda panels before they were altered to reflect his actual movie look.
Right and right. I have a copy that I got at an antique shop last year for $3. It's awesome.

I still like my idea of Disney just giving Fox theatrical distribution on VII-IX (plus a little extra) in exchange for getting all of this taken care of right now.
Heh, no way in hell that's happening. Disney didn't pay $4 billion for nothing.

Let's turn this vaguely downbeat new thread into the "Frink appreciation thread" shall we? We can all write pleasant things about him and generally be nice to him.
I think Ric Olie 2 already made 3 or 4 of those.
Mindel certainly knows his craft but I haven't seen anything by him that has wowed me. Then again, none of the Star Wars films have especially noteworthy cinematography.
This guy's voice
is actually a processed line of John Wayne dialogue.

I just noticed that this guy, formerly awesome, seems to have deleted every post he made. Fuck you, guy.
Oh, and I can't help but wonder if he's a sock.
Damn shit.
When Luke uses his lightsaber on the Falcon, it should cycle through a variety of colars.
When Obi-Wan and Vader fight, it should be in slow motion.
Are you restoring the deleted scenes at all? Dropping the quality of the film at all?
Why are you splitting the movie in two? How long is it?

+1
So the Star Wars Youtube channel is putting out in parts my all time favorite behind the scenes documentary (From Star Wars to Jedi):

Does this bode well or badly for a DVD/Blu-ray release?
I've heard Yoda - let's hope that's not true.
I personally want (and maybe I've said something like this before in the Star Wars spin-offs thread) a Ben Kenobi and Owen Lars team up film where they slash and punch, respectively, Tusken raiders to bits in the vein of The Searchers and other Western classics.
Modern Times and The Great Dictator are my favorites of his, but I cannot nor will I deny the greatness of City Lights. Also The Circus is pretty good and so is The Gold Rush, though I found the latter to be overrated.

THIS DAY IN STAR WARS HISTORY
05.04.79
THE FAN-COINED "MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU" SLOGAN GETS ITS FIRST MAJOR BOOST OF EXPOSURE WHEN THE LONDON EVENING NEWS USES IT IN A HALF-PAGE CONGRATULATORY NOTE TO MARGARET THATCHER, WHO HAD JUST WON TO BECOME BRITAIN'S FIRST WOMAN PRIME MINISTERNINETEEN SEVENTY NINE?! I don't know if that makes me feel better about it, or worse.

Yep, so it seems 79 was the first time the pun was made, but 2011 was the first time it became Star Wars day.
I knew it was a recent phenomena so that it started in 2011 isn't surprising, but at the same time you have to wonder why it took 32 years to catch on, right?
Anyway, May 25th is still Star Wars day in my heart. It was so before 2011, and it will continue to be so (even if my friends force me to watch Star Wars on the fourth).

So, with the release of the deleted scenes on the Blu-Ray I figured it was time to start this edit.
But they released those scenes three years ago?
Oh my god. For some reason, I never noticed until now that Chewbacca's hair is different in ROTJ. Mind blown.
WHAT
Interesting retrospective. Cool that he mentioned FE.org!
Well a friend of mine works as a production assistant at one of my school's auditoriums, and he convinced his boss to have a day where we would use the auditorium show the original trilogy. The fact that we did it today was actually a coincidence, if you can believe it.
So I basically watched Harmy's Despecialized trilogy on the big screen. All three, back-to-back-to-back.
And it was amazing.
