Okay.
Okay.
Yeah it’s not the “random vague gibberish thread,” but it’s not surprising that people can’t grasp the concept.
Either you do not understand the concept of “extremely subtle”, or such insults are too subtle for you to grasp.
Interesting definition of “subtle.”
Literally nothing.
I think the actual problem is that there wasn’t really any real problems and yet we now have a whole thread devoted to nothing at all.
And yet no thread devoted to the Bowie Bulge…
Yes. I saw the previous post, but that one had to do with Star Wars.
Well, apparently Philip Pullman, author of His Dark Materials, had scathing things to say about LOTR and Narnia. He called Narnia sexist, and racist among other things, and seem to trivialize both series simply because their authors were people of faith. My brother in law says such an opinion is also apparent in the His Dark Materials series itself, so nope. I’m not really interested in reading it anymore. I’m not keen on being lectured why faith is stupid.
He can be agnostic or atheist or whatever, but holding himself as superior for it annoys me.
What does this have to do with Star Wars exactly?
With a title like that you would think someone had been murdered.
Trumpet is more exerting.
I’ll give my dad the bad news.
Me too.
dahmage, I’m sorry, ROTR won’t be done this year.
Frink, I suppose now’s as good a time as any to say it, I want a divorce.
Labyrinth is definitely not great but it is also definitely worth watching.
Wait, what thread is this?
The David Bowie’s Bulge Thread.
We don’t already have one of those? Approved.
Labyrinth is definitely not great but it is also definitely worth watching.
Wait, what thread is this?
Yeah, I mean there’s necessarily nothing wrong with being atheist and/or jaded, those passages just seem out of place for what I thought that kind of story would be.
Is that stuff even relevant at all to the story?
Finished Ready Player One for the podcast “book club” 372 Pages We’ll Never Get Back (from a couple of the RiffTrax guys). Holy shit, that book is the absolute worst. Badly written, poorly plotted, the main character has no redeeming qualities and spends 371 pages bragging about how much stuff he has memorized.
As a gamer, I was intrigued by this book so I bought the audiobook from Audible. I couldn’t even get past the first few chapters. Somewhere early on, the main character thinks about how smart he is for realizing there is no God, then almost immediately afterward he goes back to watching episodes of Family Ties and thinks about how pointless life is.
So… Rick and Morty?
No.
In 1999 I was 25…
A true May/December marriage.
I need to start reading The Stand again. It was so good I tore threw 300+ pages in about a week many years ago, but for whatever reason haven’t touched it since.
I’ve also read the first couple Dark Tower books. They’re pretty good.
Need to read some more.
Ha! I had that when I was a kid. Fits the movie well.
Okay so this may be a fake memory type of thing, but has Moff Jerjerrod ever said ‘we shall redouble our efforts’ ? I sometimes still think about this in that opening scene.

Are you trying to get banned again? Why would you immediately do what the moderator that banned you last time explicitly said not to do?
I thought his first banning was pretty ridiculous but his behavior recently is more deserving.
Not deserving, but more deserving. Two mods ask you to shorten your sig and instead you just throw a hissy fit and delete the whole thing and then act like you’re being oppressed about it even though nobody even suggested you delete it.
He also replied to a post that said “no more sighs” with a sigh.
Come on warb.
I don’t think it being more mature necessarily makes it the better film (though, to be clear, it certainly doesn’t make it worse).
Anyway, there might be a slight distinction between movie fans and cinema fans. If so, Star Wars is definitely for the latter.
And I also tend to think Empire is the more Star Warsy of the two. The original defined the series, but Empire redefined it in a way it’s been following ever since.
Fuck, I am a stupid idiot and a garbage human being.
Exactly right.
I really like myself. Good job, me.

But why wouldn’t they keep looking for the Best Pilot in the Resistance and the traitor that knows about their entirely secret Starkiller Base? I think a squad of 8-14 soldiers in TIEs and perhaps a shuttle would find both people quite handily, especially since life detection equipment was in use in ANH and ESB by the Rebellion and Empire.
They probably assumed, like Finn, that Poe died in the crash. As for Finn, I’m not sure how your suggestion fixes this? I don’t know how to explain why they didn’t find him earlier than they did.
Since Poe says he was thrown from the crash, it makes it sound like he didn’t eject.
It’s a little ambiguous, but it’s a lot easier to assume he meant he ejected than it is to assume he meant “I heard troopers and thought you were captured” when he said he didn’t see Finn or a ship. Not to mention, if Poe woke up before Finn, why didn’t he make it to the town first?
