If nothing else the physical strain on your eyes should be enough to consider.

oh good grief.

To say that video games have the same amount of physical exertion as chess means that you’ve never played video games.

have you have every played blitz chess?

Nope, are you saying it’s a sport?

no, I am saying playing playing video games has no more physical exertion than playing blitz chess when your time is running out. I see videos of professionals making moves when time running out, I seen their arms and hands move in a blur.

look how fast these guys move their pieces.

That’s basically ping pong.

There’s a Criterion collection flash sale on now and I don’t know what to buy. My twitter poll leans toward Barry Lyndon at the moment, but I’m not sure when I’ll have time to watch it if I get it so maybe I should get a shorter film.

Depends, have you seen those films yet?

Nope.

They’re all great. Seventh Seal is the best. Rashomon is probably the most essential and rewatchable. Barry Lyndon is absolutely terrific too.

I liked it better than the original… *shrug*
Also I thought the acting/production values elevated it above other average Netflix sci-fi fare… *shrug*

I guess I will remain in my corner as the movie’s only fan.

The divorce papers will arrive shortly.

FINE.

I assume this means you’ll be signing them this time.

All inquires should be forwarded to my attorney at this time.

I post here because it is Olympics, but it also has very interesting gender equality content. Quite worth reading.

I give this article 10/10 for being super interesting but also I’m deducting 9 points from that score for not including video of this quadruple triple twisting full full double triple quadruple flip twist.

if it was a 0 out of 10 i would report you for being a troll, but a 1/10 i guess i can accept.

I would have in turn reported you for calling me a troll. I mean damn, it’s not like I said she had a squirrel face or something.

Also, warb, you missed the point.

My mother began pressing me to talk to her tonight. She seems to think I’m still depressed (I am, but I can’t let her know that I’m too bad). She tried to convince me to stay home at a local university this fall, but I don’t think I can make myself stay. Then again, if I leave, I don’t think I’ll survive. My gay ass deserves to rot. I don’t see what the point in living is, I’m never truly going to be happy, I’m never going to let myself for one reason or another.

Personally, I hope you get the chance to go to a bigger university away from where you live. There you’d very quickly learn that the kind of mindset you’ve been brought up in is very much in the minority and that most people out there are incredibly accepting of people for who they are. This world’s got a lot to offer, and you’re a good guy, you deserve to find that out for yourself.

(also the truth is, most gay guys are actually a lot smarter and more thoughtful than straight guys)

I learned the clarinet at school

That slang confuses me because, why a clarinet? A trombone, maybe, but a clarinet? I know I’m overthinking a simple dirty slang term but it just sounds ignorant. Like, let’s pick a random instrument and never mind if it makes sense.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING

I’m saying the actions one takes with the mouthpiece

Nope.

Yhwx you really need to let the “Yhwx speak” thread Die, as it’s humor has long run out. We’ve had enough nonsensical posts about you getting lunch and dinner without bumping the thread to run it by us again. Much like the Possessed Speak thread which died when my swipe app started actually learning, the yhwx speak thread needs to die for not being funny anymore.

The only way I could be able be a little bit more than the first one to make sure that they can make the same page for a couple hours of free game to be the only way I could get it a little frustrating to have the same page on my iPhone and iPad.

Great thread!

Trumpet - I played this back in elementary school and was pretty good at it. Only played it once or twice in the last decade and a half though, so I’m not good anymore.

Piano - because I know how to read music, I can go up to a piano and (eventually) figure out how to (poorly) play familiar melodies. Never had any lessons though so I don’t think you could really say I can play it.

Guitar/Mandolin - I know these are two different instruments, but to me they are the same, as in on a few occasions I’ve picked them up and strummed for a bit and tried to figure out notes and then gave up.

Guitar Hero - I was really good at Easy and Medium difficulty back when I used to play. Never could manage that fifth button though.

Rock Band - obviously guitar skills from the previous transfer over. I like to think that I am a great singer (though I’ve only ever sang to myself in the shower and in the car) so I was great at vocals. I really liked the drums and was pretty good on Easy but anything beyond that was too much.

Mayonnaise - is gross (except for a very tasteful little bit on a sandwich).

It’s not being nice and hoping the bad guys change. It’s a symbolic gesture of peace and we’re sticking our noses up to it. It just feels needlessly antagonistic without any real benefit, comparing this to the strategies of former presidents with the USSR emphasizes how insignificant a tactic it is. The tension between our countries is bad enough with this administration, I don’t trust that if they play mean like this that I won’t some day be incinerated in my sleep by a nuclear blast.

Not sure if the puppet face would look good in a CGI character, but worth a try. Really like the idea for Palpatine.

Agreed, particularly for the ESB hologram scene (though it’d be nice if he looked more ROTJ-like in ROTS, too, I suppose).

Wait, the ESB hologram, really? Ady already did that?

And he did a very good job with what he had available to him at the time, but it’s still rather stiff and photograph-y (though it’s my preferred version of the scene by far). I’m mostly just curious to see how well this would work in comparison.

It’s essentially the same thing.

Is it? I don’t know how this program/app works, but if the top half of the face moves or looks more natural than Adywan’s then it’s definitely worth a try imo.

I can’t imagine it does? It’s an algorithm that does it, I’d be surprised if it did it more naturally. Not to mention, McDiamird barely moves anyway in the ESBSE scene.

An empty symbol if North Korea doesn’t radically change. There’s no peace without that change.

No doubt, but not standing implies that he thinks peace is out of the question.

There is a chasm of difference between the anthem protest and this protest of North Korea.

You’re absolutely right, Pence is a visiting dignitary who remained seated and refused to cheer for the team of athletes from the host country of games that promote international unity and world peace. Meanwhile, the NFL players are US citizens who are exercising their first amendment rights to protest institutional injustices in their home country by respectfully kneeling for a flag.
