There are isolated scores for all 3 ot both se and oot, fan made.

I guess I’m not that surprised.

And the extended soundtrack for phantom menace is basically am isolated score also.

Man, I know that, that’s why I said I’m hoping someone makes it an alternate track (I’d want someone to do ROTS, AOTC, and TFA too, but there’s far too much music that’d be covered up in SFX and dialogue).

That was more like music videos.

I wonder if this isolated score will contain cues unused in the final film, like the one on the Alien Blu-Ray…

Doubtful, as it seems like the score was kept almost entirely in tact (unlike TFA).

I keep hoping someday someone here does an isolated score track for the OT and TPM.

Don’t the physical releases all come with a code for the Movies Anywhere version?

Dunno, they really need to make it obvious for people to find out.

By the way, a music only track is godsend, been waiting for Star Wars to do one of these for a long time. Once again, I must say thank you to Rian Johnson.

Episode VIII : The Last Jedi - Discussion * <strong><em>SPOILER THREAD</em></strong> *
Time

Was skimming through a copy of the TLJ novelization at a Barnes and Noble, I think I found out what a couple scenes are…

  • “Rose and Finn Go Back to Where They Belong” is Finn dragging Rose back to the base on Crait, and her sorta waking up and pointing out that earlier in the movie she was the one dragging him.
  • the “Rey and Chewie on the Falcon” scene is most likely a short snippet where they see all the walkers firing at Luke (although I don’t think they know it’s him), and they turn around or something.

Just because I say the comparison is ridiculous and ignorant (at best) doesn’t mean I think we shouldn’t treat PT fans like real people (something which again is not actually happening).

I’m just saying it’s a fucking dumb comparison. It’s like if I forgot to bring my lunch to work and then said “I’m suffering, just like people dying of starvation in Africa.”

And you’ll take TLJ from my cold dead hands, thank you very much. She’s mine.

That’s actually true. I think the petition is bs, but what happened to respecting the minorities? If it was the PT people would be fine with it. In fact when it was the PT people here were more than fine with it.

Recently there was a comment in this very thread where someone said we shouldn’t treat PT fans like people. I found that to be very rude and possibly ban worthy. I used to be a PT fan myself when I was younger and several little kids I know are PT fans.

I’d most certainly ridicule a petition that tried to do the same thing for the PT. The concept is just plain dumb as shit. These people need to grow up.

So while we’re at it, how about we stop treating people who like the ST like people? Or stop treating people that like MARVEL movies like people? Or how about stop treating someone with a certain sexuality like people because they are attracted to X instead of the majority’s Y?

I hope I don’t get banned for this, but come on.

Making “people who don’t like Disney SW movies” out to be a minority on par with people with different sexual orientations is… misguided, to say the least.

That wasn’t what I was referring to. I was referring to someone trashtalking PT fans. And all are groups of people that should be equally respected nonetheless.

PT fans were the direct comparison, but the whole point from the start of your post was to compare to minority of non-ST fans with the minority of PT fans. Either way you really shouldn’t be comparing them to minority groups that actually matter.

Good. So we’re allowed to say “let’s not treat PT fans like people” because that’s not a minority that matter? That was my only critic.

Did I say that? No. I’m just saying it’s incredibly fucking ignorant to pretend that some guy saying (obviously jokingly) on the internet that PT fans “aren’t people” is on the same level of minorities that actually face real discrimination.

Disagree, all kinds of discrimination are bad imo. I’m not saying that you’re saying otherwise though.

Come on man. Think about what you’re saying.

The common theme in your first and last couple of posts indicate that as long as a minority isn’t part of a worthy cause in your opinion then it’s ok to discriminate and belittle them.

Come on man, think about what YOU are saying…

People jokingly saying mean things about certain SW fans on the internet isn’t exactly what I’d consider discrimination. I shouldn’t have to explain the difference here.

What you think I’m saying is not what I’m saying at all.

I do not throw my hat in with the idea that conservatives are easy to disagree/debate with while progressives are not. I certainly know conservatives in real life who are particularly opinionated and stubborn in their views, and with whom I would have a difficult time validating my position.

I know my saying so is anecdotal, but I suspect the whole argument either way is.

Pretty much this, the article’s thesis has not been my experience at all.

I actually couldn’t even make it through the whole thing, some of the things they’re saying are pretty off base and definitely opinionated (you would think an article like this should be neutral).

This “debate” is, frankly, pretty dumb.

Was it silly for Warren to put down that she was part Native American all those years ago? Sure, of course. Would it be extra silly for her to bring it up now? Yeah, but as far as I know she only talks about it when people attack her about it. It should be irrelevant at this point.

As for how I’d be reacting if a Republican was in the same position, it depends a bit. If they’re someone who’s serially dishonest like Trump, of course I’d be a lot more skeptical. If they were exactly the same as Warren I promise I truly wouldn’t care (not like there’s anyway to convince warb once he’s set his mind on something). The fact that she doesn’t look Native American shouldn’t matter, it’s honestly pretty rude and ignorant to think that someone of specific heritage needs to look a specific way.

Dom, I don’t think there is a DNA test that will reliably indicate a person to be French. The testing simply isn’t attuned to that. Some say it’s because France forbids collection of DNA info. Another explanation is that the DNA patterns essentially predate France. There is a lot of imprecision, especially when it comes to continental Europe.

Thanks for the support. But I must say it wasn’t like 50% of my dad’s DNA wasn’t accounted for, it just turns out he’s actually half British. So yes, forget continental Europe.

You’re right of course he may not actually be. I can trace my Frenchy ancestors back hundreds of years with a couple U.K. people way back, but I’m 20% between U.K. and Ireland. Lots of mixing around.

Well it’s definitely complicated because that half of my dad’s family is actually Canadian (the question is just French Canadian? or British?).

My grandmother for years said we were like 1/32 native american… something about her having a grandmother named “Hawk” or some such. Well, my sister just took a test and it turns out we have absolutely zero native american DNA. Apparently this is a common story.

Doesn’t mean you don’t have a Native ancestor that far back but at that point the amount inherited can be negligible/undetectable. And that grandmother’s grandmother might have only been half, making less likely to find. It’s even possible to have no DNA from an ancestor (which seems paradoxical). There is a lot of pride taken in the possibility of a Native ancestor.

So you’re saying even if Warren took the test and had no Native DNA, she still might have a Native ancestor? If that’s the case, why would she risk seeming wrong even if she isn’t?

Exactly right. And what dahmage said. Might behoove her to give an apology for at least overselling/exploiting her possible heritage. She did embarrassing things in that regard. She doesn’t want this to persist as a symbol of an overall character of dishonesty. Some people will never let go of it but whatchya gonna do.

It just seems like a weird situation. She put down that she was part Cherokee decades ago. It was only brought up again recently because of her political opponents. When it was, she explained how her parents always told her she was part Native. So what is she supposed to do now? What is she supposed to apologize for? Wouldn’t saying sorry imply that she lied? Even if she did lie, it’d be silly to admit as much. This is a situation where it’s very easy to believe that her parents told her this.

As Catbus noted, there’s basically no way to escape a 'ghazi like this.

It’s a massive non-issue. If Trump said he was part Native American I probably wouldn’t care either. I think most would assume he made it up because he has a history of making things up. Warren does not. It’s odd to assume that she personally made it up when stories like this are incredibly common, especially in places like Massachusetts (that of parents telling their kids they’re part Native and so forth), partly because they’re not hard to believe.

If Warren was still going around playing up her “heritage,” I think it’d be a different story. But the only people talking about it are Republicans, obviously just in an effort to bring her down and/or make fun of her (Trump’s “Pocahontas” remarks).

She has no obligation whatsoever to take a DNA test. Why should she? That can’t end well. All my life my dad’s told me he’s half French (therefore I a quarter). A few months ago he took a DNA test. Turns out he’s not French at all.
