Since there are so many preservations of the special edition trilogy, and also around 2 years, the mp4 files will become outdated and easily accidentally deleted.
Hello. This is a project to restore the 1997 versions of the SW films. There were previews but due to arguments, I deleted them. You can get this for free, just PM me and ask. just make sure you own at least one official release, it does not matter is it physical or digital, but it is recommended to own one. I have coloured these the way they looked like in 1997.
SOURCES
the sources of this preservation are clear, but there were, I am unsure if still are, debates of this.
I used only one source for each movie. The first movieâs source comes from a 1997 print. seemingly the same master was used for 4K97-4, but I am not sure, the scrathes are similar to 4K97-4 but I am not sure is it the same master.
The second movie: I used a print from 1998. It has colours in the other side of the image, but I am once again not sure why.
The third movie: it has rounded corners, I am not sure why, but some debated it was from 4K97, which it is not from.

How are you planning on having a 50fps intro while the rest of the movie is in 24fps without having jerky playback?
I am not planning to have a 50 fps intro, the full movie will be rendered as a stable 24fps, but the intro itself is 50 fps right now, but when I export the project as mp4, the full movie (including the intro) will be made 24 fps.

Hello. This project was supposed to be ready already on September 12, 2024. But due to the lack of time, I had to delay it to 19th day of September, but that also was too little. And eventually the entire project entered a pause. The last time I did any major things to this edit was around May 2024 when I started this project, it had a OT.com post.
I started working on this on May 2024, and I used the 2019 Disney edition as the master, but then it took more space than my device could handle, so it was paused until August. I used a new master, but due to the delays, it was paused again.
Now, as of January 2025, I will restart this project. I recently finished the best version for my 1997 preservation, and I have a device which has double the amount of storage the old one had, so I set 20 Gigabytes to be the absolute maximum of this project, and will tend to use only about 10GB. I will use the 2019 Disney editions and reconstruct the 1997 editions using those. The 1997 editions I restored are not usable as the master of this project due to their 1997 quality, so I will reconstruct those using the 2019 master. Many of you will probably ask why canât I just use 4K97 as the master, and the answer is that it takes too much space, and its colours are difficult to correct, not to mention the German audio in 4K97_V. And the other possible source would be ImBatemanâs reconstruction, but ImBateman is not active or sharing the links, and MySpleen torrents have a low amount of seeders, so I will have to reconstruct them myself. I will use the least space-taking 4K77, 4K80 & 4K83 scans to replace changes made after 1997. I will also use the lowest space taking but highest quality clip of Jabba in ANH. I will then colourcorrect these to my liking. I will export the film scans as 720p 24fps. I will then use those 720p scans as the master of my fanedit. So now I will just have to make the changes. I will upload the 1997 reconstructed master somewhere private for myself and delete it from my device, but I will not share it, because it is only used for this fanedit. But unless many of you want to use it, I can share. The previosly mentioned process will start sooner or later.

This edit will be a mixture of the SE and The original version, With some additives of course. The main source of this edit is The 2011 Blu-ray release, Color corrected by Adywan in 2018. I am hoping this edit will be a more purist version of the famous âAdywan Revisitedâ. All the basic info including the change list, Will be listed down below.

.cloudy skies on Tatooine have been replaced with real skies from Tunisia.
