Snakes on a Plane

And what was supposed to be a forgeatable, bombing B-rate movie, is now going to give precedence to the studios. It is OK to produce crap, the audience buys it. Other studios will try to come up with other fabricated cult movies, and we will be filled with crappy action flicks. Good cinema is officially dead the moment Sam L Jackson says "There are muthaf**ing snakes on the plane!" and the whole audience cheers.

Snakes on a Plane isn't about good cinema, it's about fun cinema

i would happily pay $9 for a movie that i know is going to be utter nonsense, and just laugh my ass off at the lunacy & just have a good time....when I see it (and yes i will see it) i won't be disappointed because i will be expecting cheesy, stupid & ridiculous...anything less, and i won't care because i wasn't expecting anything anyway. anything more & it's a bonus

Besides, there is a chance that this might be a legitimately good movie. granted, the chance is slim. Really really really really slim. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly slim it is...but it's still a chance. And remember, Alien was originally supposed to be a forgetable, bombing B-rate movie

This is a thread that's gone by the way side. Anyone reading anything good right now? I'm reading "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman. I've just recently discovered his work. MAN, he is awesome.
Just noticed this thread. I've just joined my local library and whilst browsing, re-discovered Neil Gaiman. I'm mixing up some Sandman, Death, and Magic along with his collaboration with Terry Pratchett - Good Omens (OMG - too funny !!!)

How do you co-write a book anyway?

They just re-issued a new hardcover edition of Good Omens, and it has a foreward by the authors explaining their co-writing experience

EW's 25 Worst Sequels Ever Made
Time
wasn't in metropolis...in Superman 4, there's a part where Superman chases Nuclear Man across the globe. Nukes causes destruction, & Supes fixes it...the liberty scene takes place in new york (i think)

As for 'what was the statue doing?' it was standing there minding it's own damn business being a statue & a monument till Nuclear Man picked it up & threw it into the center of Manhattan. then Superman caught it, and as he was carrying it back to liberty island, Nuclear Man clawed Supes, which somehow gave clark kent the flu...blah blah blah, ramble, ramble, ramble...etc

So Firewall sucked? That's a shame... poor Harrison.

Sorta. I think it sucked a lot less than it could have...

it's not that it sucked, so much as it was just too generic to be any good.

i mean really, was Firewall so different from Air Force One that it deserved its own multi-million dollar budget?

...and Air Force One, i might add, wasn't exactly original when it came out either
