You don’t like fanedits because why? Or you mean you don’t like fanedits of the PT specifically because you can’t make a turd anything but a turd? Then I would have to say I agree with you.

I just don’t feel like the material of the PT is all that great. You can do all the editing that you want, but the material just isn’t there.

Agreed. I just wanted to make sure I understood the comment right, because at first I thought you were saying you didn’t like fanedits period, the sole reason being something about a re-edit not helping the PT 😛.

Disney needs to make a significant large donation in the name of Marcia Lucas to the charity of her choice, hook her up with an editing crew and gear and all the footage they have from the PTs. Give here a few months to monkey around and see what can be done. The result can be called the Reunion Edition. Something interesting could come out of what they have I am sure. If anything a refresh of the fx would be helpful, although after a recent viewing of ROTS I did enjoy how the “offset” backgrounds suggested earlier Serials and Epic film in their stageiness.

I doubt Marcia Lucas wants to be in the spotlight; especially the Star Wars spotlight.

Eh, I don’t think that’ll help anything. Same reason why I don’t like fan edits.

What if the forum was a set of magic books? When someone signs up, they’re sent a set of books (one book for each thread category). The book pages work like a touch screen pad, only it’s a real paper page (it’s magic, of course). To make a post, you write it on the page with a pen that comes with the books. When a post is made, it just appears on the page below the last post.

The majority of movies are “stories that don’t need to be told”. Doesn’t mean they’re useless. If a film brightens someone’s day it’s invaluable, at least for that one person for that day.

I can’t deny this, and that’s where the subjectivity comes into play. Anyway, by that point I don’t think any movie is a story that needs to be told (in the form of a film, of course).

The more important part of my stated opinion is that it’s a story that I don’t particularly wan’t to be told.

I also will say that a better way to express my opinion on its being subjectively unnecessary, is that it is an expansion on the characters from the first film that I don’t need, nor do I want. Others may feel differently, and that’s fine.

I have nothing against it’s existence, but like those who love Star Wars as a stand alone film, and don’t care for the sequels, I love Toy Story without much care for its sequels.

I just want to know if Toy Story 2 is Objectively Bad or Objectively Good or Subjectively either or “Empirically Bad™”.

I’m not sure I would consider it bad. I believe the best way to describe it is that it is subjectively useless outside of its technical quality. (This would refer specifically to my opinion, of course)

I admit that I spoke harshly of it when the topic came up. I probably showed much more disdain for it in those words than I really hold for it (which mostly came from my annoyance at everybody acting up about the fact that I don’t like it). I merely don’t care that much about it, and before this all came about, I didn’t care enough to even have known how much universal appraise it has.

I do not think it’s a story that needed to be told, nor is it a story that I want to be told. And all of the jokes and references within that may work well and may be funny, don’t make up for the jokes and references that are utterly unfunny and utterly annoying, nor do they make up for the fact that I don’t want to see this story. (Subjectively in my opinion, of course.)

Did the movie make you cry?

I’m not really sure where this question is coming from, but the answer is no.
