I never liked sonic. More of a mario guy. I like the controls better. (Meaning the physics of how your character responds to everything, not what button does what)

Then again when it comes to platformers its a bit unfair to compare anything to the classic Mario games.

I mean, to each their own, but in my opinion sonic has superior physics by a technical standpoint. That is, Sonic actually has physics and Mario does not.

Mario has flat ground environments, with a character that runs at one constant speed, and only has a certain hight of jumping capability.

Sonic has uneven hilly terrain that the player uses to build momentum. Momentum is the primary aspect of gameplay in Sonic, and that momentum allows the player to change their running reach and jump to higher places than a standard jump can reach.

Again, I’m not trying to say you can’t prefer Mario, I just think people often don’t realize how Sonic’s gameplay differs so fundamentally when they are comparing the games.

A guy at school (who is obsessed with military things) is trying to say that cavalry is pronounced like calvary (the hill that Jesus was crucified on). I pulled dictionary definitions with phonetics and sound clips and literally proved that wrong, but he still claims that “he knows what he’s talking about.” This is the same guy who is a Star Wars nerd and claimed Hoth was pronounced with a long “o” despite the fact that they say it in the movie.

His stuckup nature gets on my nerves.

★★★☆

This was very good, but it was a little hard to follow at times (not to a massive extent), and

Spoilers, I guess:

the film’s namesake was extremely underwhelming. He just stared at the pig head for five seconds and then walked over to find the dead pilot.

★☆☆☆

The acting sucked and when the story strayed from the book it didn’t make sense for doing it. As a nitpick, the crack in Piggy’s specs looked dumb, like a chip in a car windshield or something.

Not half way through yet, and it is a thoroughly enjoyable read. Lot’s of insight and fun stories within.

I wish Bruce would publish an updated edition or a second volume. His career’s really gone places since this was published.

He published a second book:
