Do ya know what I think of this? It’s about time they stopped making Star Wars films. The OT doesn’t need a trilogy behind it and another in front. It was a complete story, and whatever wasn’t shown to you in the films was laid out in exposition, or implied, or simply left to imagination. I don’t want endless sequels coming after every fairytale that ends in “they all lived happily ever after”, because the story is finished. You can tell that SW is done because it’s boring now, unless you make it not a SW film, and I know I don’t want that.

I agree that the OT doesn’t need prequels nor sequels. Like me, you probably see SW from an artistic point of view, but Disney/LF want more, so here we go 😄

I’m positive that the 3.0’s will be available in 720p, and DVD-5, so the 2.5 set will be largely obsolete at that point.

He was told to stay out because DrCrowT was whining about Frink apparently calling him a troll, and I was glad he made the thread at the time because I was fed up with the impscum/Frink argument that was in effect at the time, and the “stay out Frink” thread would be a good place to continue the conversation without that junk interfering. You are a troll, my dear skywalkman. An amusing one at that, but I guess saying that is only feeding your game.

So it was possible. I just wish they’d kept trying going into that bold direction for the ST.

The thing is, though, Empire still kept the same characters intact, and along with Jedi, it finished a furthered story of our heroes’ fight against the Empire. We still had Luke and Vader, and the same specific conflict to finish, so it didn’t get old in the three films that it took. In the ST we have new characters to fill the same old roles, and a new conflict to emulate the same old conflict, so it feels oddly contrived, and not very original, and it’s getting old. From my point of view the ST is evi… I mean it’ll be impossible to make the ST work because of this problem.

EDIT: I’ve to come to a conclusion. The only way Episode 7 (discounting Episodes 8 and 9, which crazy potential for originality) can be completely original is if it is set a lot more than 30 years after Return of the Jedi. Would you want to sacrifice characters like Kylo Ren and seeing Luke again for a more original story that is not guarenteed to be better?

I’ll admit I missed a joke, I just don’t know which joke you’re saying I missed. Possessed referenced Snoke, and I got it, then DominicCobb made a joke about actual smoke, and I got it, then I brought back possessed’s original joke with an image. I think I just did a bad job of it. Sorry. 😄

I had assumed that possessed was referencing Snoke, so I decided to post an image of it. So what?

The film becomes pointless if you take out the emotional bond John has with his protector. The thumbs up is the high point of the emotional connection. It’s like the Iron Giant saying “you stay, I go”, only a little different.

You know what the one thing I hate about the sarlacc scene is? The complete lack of violence. Luke is swinging a lightsaber into dozens of people but none of them receive visible injuries; they just fall into the pit as if someone pushed them from behind. Then there’s this:

Yikes… sunburn city. Are you trying to fight that “green tint” in the faces by adding the extra red? Maybe instead look for another way to fight it (like only desaturing that color, which isn’t green, it’s more like orange-green when it should be just peach instead.) But honestly, the last one you did before these looked fine (great even)… I didn’t even notice the green tint anymore unless I was zoomed in 800% on the skin pixels.

I’d also like to point out, since the “green blotches” keep popping up in the skin area, that those apparent blotches are natural fluctuations of skin tone. DeEd 2.5 had some real blotches, and some of Dre’s work in progress, but those “finalized” ones didn’t have any green issues in the skin tones.
