I think a good color reference would be NeverarGreat’s Technicolor version, which looks best in my opinion color-wise since it has that very vibrant look that the Blu-ray lacks.
However I suggest using 4k77 DNR or the “Skymaster” esition, as many others here mentioned.
Longtime lurker here, just hovering a suggestion over from the ANH:RHD thread,
is it possible to recomposite the speeder scene? (the scene which comes right after the Obi-Wan mind trick in the OUT) Like, removing the ronto blocking in the way while still preserving some elements. (such as the SE shadow at the bottom of the speeder, shuttle flying behind the vaporators)
Nope, thats not the scene, but the scene that comes right after in the OUT (which is this one):
A random thought, but is it possible to remove the blatant Ronto blocking the speeder, while keeping some of the newer elements (like the improved shadow under the speeder) in the panning wide shot right before they stop at the cantina?

I’m super pumped to see this in action, however, I still feel like it looks really modern, I hope that it may match closer to the tight-camera angles of the original shots in the final cut.

I’ve seen the clips over there at the Fanedit Forums and I wanted to say how amazing this project is.
One suggestion though, I think change you did to not have Luke throwing the saber is a bit clunky.
I suggest to use the moving shot of Luke holding the lightsaber, and the reaction shot from Rey, and cutting it off from there to the wide shot of the village.
You can use a different soundtrack to help lead in the way to that wide shot.
Definitely would like to see this in a fanedit.

Well, here’s my rough cutlist of the movie:
-Make the intro shorter and starts with Han and Qira already on the speeder and minor cuts in between.
-Cut the imperial officer giving Han his last name
-Small trims throughout to make the pacing a bit more consistent
-Cutting that very fanservicey moment of Maul showing his saber to Qira

I like this! But however, this will remove the foreshadowing of Kylo’s saber spinning on his feet after Rey gets thrown by snoke. The spinning saber gave Kylo the idea of killing Snoke that way.
Just found this a while ago, just wanted to share this if anyone wants to make an edit such as this. It shows an alternate ending of the film, wherein Luke doesn’t die.
The voice sounds fine, though it may need a little more tweaking (like normalizing and adding slight reverb) to match the ROTJ Vader voice.

While watching TLJ, I found out that there was more foreshadowing than I saw at the theater.
For example, Kylo’s saber flies into the air and land on his feet spinning, which gave him the idea of killing Snoke that way.
A similar (meta-ish) instance of this is when R2 shows Luke the old hologram of Leia, then later, Luke shows his force projection to Leia.
I think another way to make it a bit more real is a (slightly) subtle white glow around the ships like in Rogue One, it gives a nice look to the ships.
I like the wipe but think it’d be better if it was a little bit faster.

Normally wipes are 1 second and I had to make this one 2 or else I would have had to put in some effort!
I just came in to your project and so far; I’ve liked it! Especially your prieviews for the new Star Destroyer, however I would like to give a quick suggestion, is it possible to add some sort of slight motion blur (in-post or however you do it) it’s a little thing that can give more life to the new animated scenes.
