- So DO you all think I should also upload a Torrent version of the Row47 as a companion to DarthOsor upload? As some folks DO NOT know how to use alt.binaries.starwars (myself included ) OR should I wait a bit longer for one of the XO projects? Should Darth Osor and Lord Blaksvn actually PLAN this out?

HOW will these two "masked" avengers get these posted?!

TUNE in true believers to the next thrilling posts.....

Here's what's happening on my end...

- Right now I'm posting Tremors v.1 on alt.binaries.starwars

- WookieGroomer will be posting split-screen RoTJ this weekend

- I'll be posting TR47 ESB for WookieGroomer after Tremors v.1 is complete (about 86 hours or so)

- After TR47 ESB I'm doing a quick post of "When Star Wars Ruled The World" (349megs)

Sooo, this takes me well into next week time-wise.

What would be cool is if there was a coordinated release of the Rowman set both on myspleen and on alt.binaries.starwars. I can help you seed them too. I set my usenet upload speed to only 40K/sec so I don't flood the newsgroup and also so I have spare bandwidth to get and send torrents and surf the web and whatnot.

There are a lot of cross-over folks who follow along both here and on usenet. Also, I make many references to both OT.com and myspleen in my postings so maybe we can actually build a larger group of die-hards.

My 2 cents: One can never have too many sets of the OT on DVD (I currently have 4) so I think that it would be great if the Rowman set got 'out there' before the XO project comes out (I can't wait) so that way folks have time and bandwidth to absorb it all.

Man, isn't this a great time to be a fan? I never could have imagined. I'm so happy that I stumbled across this board. Thanks to everyone!

Good News!

WookieGroomer is posting the split-screen RoTJ this weekend and then he's going to re-do ESB with the TR47 version (I'll be posting it on alt.binaries.starwars for him after I finish posting tremors v1) because the one that he made with the Dr. Gonzo version skipped. Soooooooo, it looks like we'll have the entire OT in split-screen comparison with the 2004 version!

I'll get both of these off to you RiK, RoTJ this coming week and ESB once it's done. WooHoo!

Hey again gang...

First off, thanks for the comments, I didn't want to go out on a limb and start posting stuff elsewhere willy-nilly.

RiK, I don't have the Row47 updated set yet, I was just going to post the TR47 set. It seems like folks would rather I post the Row47 set so I'll be snail-mailing you for it (I'm going to be heading for the mailbox right after I finish this post here).

I'm going to start posting Tremors v1 tonight on alt.binaries.starwars if anyone needs to pick it up. I am rar'ing it right now, it should start within the hour. I'll also be posting "when star wars ruled the world" (in .avi format)which was on vh1 this past summer after tremors is through.

p.s. Rebel11_38, yeah...that's the piece of s**t that I just dl'ed from alt.binaries.dvd. It is pretty bad, I feel like I wasted 4 discs on it.

Hey again gang,

Meant no disrespect on my last post...been a while since I visitied this thread and this was my first time reading this post in depth...that and being extremely overtired from our wonderful newborn (2 weeks, 2 days today!)...well you get the picture. The first time that I ogled this post I was an extreme noob so I just figured that I'd shaddup.

Glad to hear that you have some valuable time off from work RiK. Happy vacation...or whatever you decide to call it. Can't wait to see the new posts. May the force be with you.

Hey again gang...

Intent to post:

I mentioned in here, and on usenet (alt.binaries.starwars) that I found those raunchy DVDRs of the OT being posted on usenet in alt.binaries.dvd. To make a long story short the set is utter "poodoo". I have gotten 2 requests in 2 days on alt.binaries.starwars to post this OT that I somehow miraculously 'found'.

I want to post the TR47 set. This is the single best rendition of the OT so far IMO. Are there any objections? All applicable .nfo files will be included.

Let me know. In the meantime I am also contemplating posting on alt.binaries.starwars (lots of 'fan film' requests) Tremor vol 1...RiK, do you mind?

If I get tacit approval I'll be posting Tremors v1 (10%par2) and then TR47 (10%par2) to alt.binaries.starwars on usenet.

Thanks gang.

In the digital video (DLP) presentation, there is a shot of Anakin's golden robotic hand holding Padme's hand during the wedding sequence. This scene was only shown on the IMAX version but was added to the DVD realese

Actually I did see AoTC at a DLP theater (I was living in Florida and saw it in West Melbourne, the theater had just opened about a month before the release and two of its screens were showing AoTC in DLP). I was aware that the scene would be different for DLP so I was on the lookout for it. I saw the midnight release in DLP (metal hand at the end) and then saw it in a non-DLP theater the next afternoon (no metal hand).

Thanks for the info TR47. That sure is the set. The quality is crapola but it's posted on usenet and I guess that I just had to have it for my collection. Although I must say that the quality is a bit better than the asian LOOK bootleg trilogy that I bought off of ebay some years back. This set of the OT probably won't even get watched by me or shared with my friends, but I have it anyways. Ah well, at least the mystery is solved.

Thanks gang!

What version is it? It's anamorphic widescreen and the quality is somewhat poor...about VHS level. It has no commentary, no subtitles, and the chapter breaks are very far apart (for instance, chapter 2 in ANH starts at the cantina scene). Any suggestions would be grand...I want to know what covers to print for this set and where it fits in my collection.

I apologize for this being off topic.

Thanks for the feedback. I just wanted to know where this fit into my collection. I thought that it was the LOOK set but I wasn't sure, the quality isn't anywhere near the TR47 set...but it is better than my original ebay-bought LOOK set (at least the audio is in synch). I am a completist, so this goes into my ever growing SW dvd collection.

Hey gang,

I had a family emergency and had to travel up north (luckily my mother-in-law was here because of the newborn) so I was offline. I'm back online and seeding.

I have a quick question, they're posting a LD-rip of the OT on alt.binaries.dvd (I just got ANH) and I have a screenshot of the menu. Can anyone ID what version it is? Muchos gracias.

Just a quick note gang...

We had a beautiful baby girl at 10:29am EST on Wednesday. Her name is Chloe and what she means to me is so far beyond words, her birth and holding her for the first time was the single most incredible experence in my entire life...and so many of these wonderful experiences with her will continue for the rest of my life. I am happier than I have ever been in my entire life.

Well, we are home but I am sooooooo tired, I've slept maybe 12 hours total in the past 5 days so I am useless as far as a computer goes for now. I just wanted to let you all know. Oh yeah, and the playoffs start tomorrow...that would qualify me as an extra-useless couch potato. (or is that potatoe? lemme ask Dan Quale)

Thanks for posting that torrent RiK, it sounds like people are really looking forward to it. More should be coming, as I get them you'll get them. Word to the spookies

p.s. I'm most likely going to get a full sleve (left arm) of "clone wars animated series"-type SW art. I'll probably incorporate elements from all 6 films into the artwork. The wife thinks it's a great idea, and I've been wanting some tattoos with the newer more vibrant and colorful inks. I really like that artwork style and once we move back to Florida (May) and RotS comes out I'm gonna commission an artist who's as much of a fan as I am to realize the tattoos.

As it is getting done I'll post both concept art, final art, and the final tattoo work itself. It's gonna be like taking a piece of my Star Wars collection with me where ever I go.

I'm babbling, I'll shut up now. I may be scarce for a while, but should be back up to speed in the next few days.

I use agent.

Agent is hands-down the best usenet (newsgroups) reader EVER.

These are starters...usenet is "old internet" so it's rather complex, but once you get the hang of it it's a piece of cake. Try these tutorials and if you get stuck just ask again in here or email me and I can help you further step-by-step. It's dificult at first, but it's worth it.

It is a DVD-R that WookieGroomer posted about a week and a half ago on alt.binaries.starwars. It has the 2004 version up top and the 1977 version on the bottom all synched up..split-screen style. It also includes 3 audio tracks, the 2004, the 1977, and a merge of the two. It is the ultimate comparison between the old and the new versions.

It should be on myspleen soon if everything works out right.

The author is now working on the rest of the OT too, and he says that he will then revisit ANH for an even better version.

ReverendBeastly...You will get the entire ISOMIX trilogy this week. I'll be leaving the seeds running nonstop in superseed while we're at the hospital. I truly enjoy the ISOMIX, actually it is probably my fav. It is brilliant in that it isolates the soundtrack...Star Wars is essentially a silent movie, one needs no dialog to follow the OT. The double LP was all that we had (along with the action figures and the marvel star wars comics) to relive the magic in the days before VCRs. I know the soundtrack to the first star wars by heart. I thought that ISOMIX would be sort of a novelty until I watched the first one and I was hooked. John Williams scores the films flawlessly...the ultimate space opera if there ever was one. ISOMIX is a true classic.

Wow, that is an incredible compliment coming from you RiK. I am honored. I aspire that one day I may have a mere fraction of the impact on this scene that you have had. and oh yeah...word to the spookies.

btw...I'm going to be posting "tremors vol 1" on usenet (alt.binaries.starwars) very soon. I'm just now finishing up a rather large 7 day SW comics flood (along with Sedriss) on usenet. I have the "tremors" files rar'ed and par'ed but I have a VERY big day Wednesday (my first daughter...they'll be inducing labor) so it may be a bit before I can actually post it. It will be posted though.

Yeah MeBeJedi, you got me when my pants were down...I had to take torrent offline for about 3 hours today which was beyond my control, but overall I am in superseed mode. Let's keep these torrents alive!

____________________________________________________________

<<<DarthOsor do you have this version of Star Wars? The Split-Screen Edition?>>>

yes I do...and let's just say that it should be on myspleen soon.
also, the guy who created the split-screen is doing the entire trilogy right now...and then he plans on re-visiting the first Star Wars (ANH). We will have all of these my friends.

p.s. I'm trying to talk my wife into giving her the middle name of "Aurra"...she like "Ariel". I'll probably lose.

Is your download of Empire really complete? Because the info page for the torrent on MySpleen says that you've got 99.68% of it, but I know BitTorrent has been known to be picky about these sorts of things.

_________________________________________________________________

Actually I needed the space after I downloaded and burned the torrents so I deleted them. I now have around 50 gigs of free space so what I did was transfer back the ifo and vob files and whatnot back to my HDD from the DVD and leeched the last umpteenth bit that was missing of the torrent (apparently the rest was in either my 'dvd covers' or 'soundtracks' directories).

Anyways...if I don't need the bandwidth (I share it with work and the wife and all), I'll be sharing.

Thanks gang.
