Info & Ideas: ESB and ROTJ Wishlist

That being said it's time for another Star Wars Axia edition moment...and this bugged me before the prequels were a glint in anyone's eye so its not a case of making the OT fit the PT. Its a case of a Jedi not carrying his lightsaber...he would build a new one.

I really don't think it's an issue. Yoda (like every other Jedi) wears his lightsaber beneath his robe, so you wouldn't see it anyway.

And if he lost it in ROTS... how would he build a new one on a swamp planet?

By the way, I skipped about 1/4 of the thread while I was catching up, so I may have missed this. Was the issue of getting the Emperor's hologram to say "Luke Skywalker" instead of "young Skywalker" ever solved? I remember Ady had wanted to make the change but was unable to get an audio sample of McDiarmid saying "Luke."

McDiarmid says Luke a few times on the Musical Journey DVD, but I think Ady said he found nothing that sounded good.

But considering he hasn't gotten to editing the sound yet, you never know.

Star Wars Prequels/Original Trilogy: The Complete Scores (Released)

I have no idea what you mean with "they overlap", because as far as I can hear, each track is just fine. Can you give an example of a bad transition?

What exactly does "gapless mode" do?

I'm guessing it overlaps tracks, to hide the usual 2 silent seconds that are added to the beginning and end of mp3s.

Just get the flac versions and/or disable "gapless mode"

Cos it's shit!!

Why is it shit? The SE version is better than the original version.

I think you'll find a lot of people on these boards'll disagree with you on that one.

The original wampa scene is much scarier. As has been said before: "less is more"

Help: looking for... HD VERSIONS
Time
afwdg99 said:

Are the prequels available in HD?

Yes

Are the only HD versions of the OT from the 2004 versions?

Yes (well, except Adywan's ESB SE HD version)

And...are there any fan edits in HD, or will that only be possible once they are released on bluray?

Wookiegroomer and Adywan made minor edits in their HD versions, but there are no real fan edits in HD (yet) that I know of. (Though ESB:revisited will also be released in 720p)

All the other shots are looking magnificent too, and I am SO glad you decided to add my hint of Hoth's 'circumference' atmosphere into the LEFT window, AND that subtle bit of RED lighting to the panel too!  It makes all the difference, and the shot is looking terrific.

Will you also consider making the 'edging' of the LEFT and MIDDLE windows the same thinkness all the way up, where we see it in front of the officer on the left, and behind Captain Lennox's back though?

There's just no pleasing you is there? :P

Already been fixed. I replaced it with this shot to match the rest of the scene

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Who is the individual on the left? He sticks out like a sore thumb, no offense, just seems a bit out of place with Vader and the General speaking towards the window and the other guy looks as if it was Cut/Pasted into the scene.

er, time to turn in your geekcard, that guy (lieutenant) has been in there for ever.

yeah but the OT isn't even like that. It's actually very well lit and colorful. Especially in Adywan's revisited version.

Maybe, but nowhere near the oversaturated "colourfulness" of the PT.

I really like the colourchanges you made there Vaderios! I don't know if it's too dark as I haven't seen it in motion.

Now, who will make this happen? :P

Savage said:A technical question: I have a Sony Vaio laptop with a blu-ray player. It plays blu-rays flawlessly, as well as 1080p .movs and .mkvs. However, the dedicated blu-ray player (Intervideo BD, I believe) cannot play ESB (I haven't tried ANH). Neither can mplayer. Windows Media Player can play the disc, but the audio will not stay in sync. Are there any other additional codecs/programs I need to get the disc to play correctly on a PC?

You can convert the files to MKV really easily.   Install Daemon Tools and copy the m2ts file as mentioned in previous posts.  Then follow this guide from step 4 taking care to note the audio timeshift in the ts file:

http://jamestombs.co.uk/2008-07-20/how-to-convert-avchd-iso-to-mkv/535

The best software for HD files on Windows IMO is Media Player Classic Home Cinema, it use the graphics card (Nvidia 8000 series and above, RadeonHD 2000 series and above) to accelerate HD content.  The technical term being GPU offloading.  It plays MKV 1080p files flawlessy for me, no dropped frames or tearing.  A must for computer based HD playback, and its free and open source software too.

I just renamed the m2ts file to mkv... works fine for me.
