If someone has a problem with the fact that we don't have the BEST quality possible anamorphic transfer of the original trilogy, then they talk about it or try to fix it. Whether it's petitioning Lucas to fix his DVD, fixing his DVD themselves, or making another LD transfer.
I'll tell you something I don't like: @$$holes like *Boris* detracting from the point of this site, and you can bet your @$$ that if I had moderator status I would have banned him simply for being stupid and detracting from the point of the site. But I don't have moderator status, so I leave it up to the moderators, hopefully one of them is kind-hearted enough, and as intolerant of people like this as I am, that they would not only ban him but crash his harddrive at the same time, once again for being stupid (and ofcourse detracting from the point of the site)!
See, my problem isn't with Lucas, it's with idiots like: *Boris*!

Though it may never happen, something I would also like to do is take all the jay and silent bob oncamera action ever filmed and put it into one huge epic, but ofcourse this can't happen untill Smith finishes making them all, you know I heard they had so much fun filming Clerks 2 they plan on making it a trilogy!?!?!? Then again this could all just be fanboy speculation posted and reposted until it was told as fact, but whatever, smith calls himself a sellout on a seemingly daily basis so i bet there will be plenty more jay and bob seeing as how its what the fans want!
First off I'm currently honing my skills on Vegas while I wait, for what you ask... Someone I know on here is getting the workprint of Jay and Bob which has a small bit not on the dvd, they too will be doing an extended cut but it won't be released, so you bet yer arse that when they get it I'm sending them the disc and postage so i can get it!!!
Then I'll do JayAndBob first followed by Dogma followed by Clerks, incidently does anyone know about any other footage that might not have been released for Dogma or Mallrats? I'd like to have such footage if it exists!
BTW, Where possible i intend to add bits of outtakes (jay showing his balls when he pulls down his pants) or alternate versions of addlibbed lines that I like better (the stationhouse line, etc.). I'm also learning the art of rotoscoping, so the scene where the Marshall is on the news (the blue screen version) can be completed with a background!
Also seeing as how this has been turned into a project that just needs updating and discussion, rather than me asking stupid questions, would any kind moderator be willing to please move this thread into the proper forum?

Now Pirates: Great first film, I wish they would have done more to tie in the storyline of the first two movies, it's not just nowadays, it's always been this way with hollywood, they wait longer on the sequel because they don't know how good the first one is going to be, and because now everything must at least be a trilogy they try to save money by shooting one double-length sequel and splitting it up into two releases, so the story is too tight in the sequel(s) to be 2 films and they don't fit well enough with the first. But it does seem by now that they have perfected the art, it certainly left you wanting more, and it had a plot twist at the end that while it does not compare to The 6th Sense or anything it was rather unexpected, mind you it wasn't as good as the first one but was just as entertaining if not more so, and for most people (not like us) who watch movies for entertainment solely and not also as an art form, you at least have to give this movie it's due credit there. Also I was confused as f*** because I didn't see the scene at the end of the first movie so I didn't know the monkey was cursed again, I thought the writers screwed up, but then I realized I was the idiot. That's about it, go see it, it's a great film, or rather wait for the third then watch the second and third right together.
Btw, I'm sure most of you know about this but I think it does deserve a mention considering some things from the sequel, I'll explain below: http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=11&threadid=5713 Spence has made a wonderful Black Pearl Extended Edition, in my opinion the studio really sucks at what they cut out simply for time purposes, the deleted scenes really give you a feel of Norrington as a more in-depth character and goes more into the Elizabeth/Jack relationship, these things sort of hit you out of nowhere in the sequel but wouldn't have been so bad had you gotten to see these few extra looks and hear these extra lines from these scenes!
Edit: Btw, about the length of the film, if the stuff they cut out is anything like the first then I wish they would have left it longer, it might have been long but it did not fail to entertain the entire time! I sit down and watch all six Star Wars movies in one sitting as though it were one movie (with the prequels drastically cut down, but the overall runtime still being long as hell) and seeing this makes me wish Hollywood would start making movies that long, so that for those of you who do have to pay to see movies will actually get your $ worth!

OK i'm an idiot I read ADM's guide and I now realize how to do the things I've been asking, but ofcourse this is all too complicated, isn't there one software program that will just take a dvd and take the main movie along with whatever deleted scenes you want and put them as video files and seperate audio files (for each channel) so that you can just cut and paste them to your hearts content without having to wait 20 years for it all to recode everything and lose a lot of precious quality in the process?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Oh and if this magic program could also convert letterboxed to anamorphic that would be grand seeing as the way I read is complicated and takes 20 years!

And very sorry to thread jack but I have a question along the same lines: From what I know Mac writes to HFS and FAT32. Windows writes to NTFS and FAT32. But FAT32 doesn't allow files bigger than 4 gigs, which plenty of the videos I want to edit are. The only way I have found to edit one video using both Mac and Windows is to A) use FAT32 (which I can't do as stated above) or B) have two machines networked together and have the video in a shared folder on the Windows system then the Mac system will still somehow write to it.
Does anyone know how to edit the same file from a dual boot because I don't want to build another machine! By the way if anyone doesn't want to divert this thread any further they may email me at DarthBalls1138@gmail.com thanx!

I'm using womble, I took the .vob with all the deleted scenes and have split up each and every scene into seperate clips, that took flippin forever on it's own, mind you I have a life and to do this I went without sleep for a couple of days, but it was worth it I suppose since I'm so passionate about the project, I'll give away the secret as to what I'm trying to do just for the record, I'm trying to make an extended edition of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, anyway, now as far as I know I have to take the entire movie and cut out all of the overlapping bits leaving the whole movie as individual clips and then put all of those together in order with the deleted scenes mixed in the timeline then export the video, am I doing this right because it's pretty hard, slow moving, and annoying! Somebody please help me!

Actually here is the next ?, my deleted scenes are letterboxed, the main movie is anamorphic, I would prefer it if my finished product were anamorphic, remember I'm using womble and trying my hardest not to spend a lot of time reencoding the video, so does anyone know how I solve this little problem?

Anyway all I want to do is add in the deleted scenes of a movie to create an extended edition, I already have everything ripped to my PC, I just wanna know what program would be the best for cutting the deleted scenes away from their introductions and joining them into the main movie where they are supposed to go, and I don't feel like doing a lot of video converting, so I know some applications can do this cutting/joining straight to the .vob files, I just don't know which applications, so it'd be great if someone could shed a little bit of light on the subject, thanks!
