Info Wanted: A Place to download Workprints, Fan Edits, etc?
Time
Why don't we just create an ftp transfer pay-it-forward system:

Person A sends a fan edit/preservation to Person B.

Person A posts in the designated thread (or new site if Jay won't allow it, there are free forum hosting sites) that Person B now has to send that particular fan edit/preservation to the next 2 or 3 (depending on the set number we all agree on) people who request it from them.

Then Person B posts in the same thread that they sent it to Person C and that they must now do the same thing.

This way there can be no leeching because it will be reported that someone refused to pif and noone else would ever send them anything.

Also for those with slow connections, a physical pif could be integrated into the ftp system, you get one in the mail, the fact that you got one is posted online, you send out two in the mail, that fact is posted online, and those people continue the pif through ftp.

Am I crazy? Does anyone else think this will work?

Extracting cutscenes and gameplay action from PC game.

Since this is in the how-to section for future reference it should be posted that if it is a computer game then all you need is a screen recording program such as Camtasia, this will allow you to record the audio and video of both cutscenes and gameplay, but if the game is on a home system then you will need a video capture card, or any video card that also offers video-in capabilities, seeing as how I have never used one I will allow someone else to elaborate on the process of using one of those since I'm sure there is a better way of capturing the video from that rather than using something like Camtasia.

Help: looking for... Star Wars Extended Edits?
Time
Yes, all I'm talking about is adding back in the deleted scenes, if you cut the extra unneeded audio tracks I'm sure you wouldn't be losing too much video quality, besides I know for a fact that if you use womble you can output to a higher size than what a dual-layer dvd would fit without ever even recompressing the video at all, this would be for the edits, or you can recompress it to actually fit on a dual layer dvd and there are people here who actually like the prequels as they are, so for them they might just want an extended version to watch, which the loss of quality wouldn't even be noticeable. Like I said if noone steps up to the plate sooner then I'll do it when I get a chance.

I know the point is to cut down the prequels seeingas how awful they are, but some people feel that their edit needs one of the deleted scenes reintegrated to better tell the story, it would be easier if everyone could start with an extended edition. Has anyone made these, I checked myspleen but couldn’t find any sign of such a thing, if noone has and noone volunteers then I guess I’ll chalk it up on my to-do list after all my Jersey films edits.
