The Prequel Trilogy 'as one movie' Edit - Released
Time
Few things ought to be mentioned, first off, Recla1mer has already edited the pt to one movie and the ot to one movie (that's two seperate movies there folks, don't get confused by my wording) also, a movie that long should have an intermission, i remember wishing to god that they would bring intermissions back when I was watching king kong, anyways if you split it up onto 2 single layers then you do have more space to store data on and therefore better picture quality; another solution: cut more sh*t out!

In terms of the need for a pt, there isn't one, but if you like the whole anakin arc then fine w/e but the entire first movie is totally pointless except for the one scene where ani gives padme the necklace, the only reason that is signifcant is so that ppl can cry later on when padme dies and they zoom in on the necklace.

Anyway, sounds interesting, these are the types of edits I like to see, IMO there is only one movies worth of good stuff to watch in the entire pt anyway (if there even is an entire movies worth) and so I like to see these kinds of edits where the editor doesn't screw around and they really get down to the core, the stuff that makes it worth watching, the stuff thats actually remotely related to that other trilogy we all know and love, and so I'd like to see yer edit when it's finished, oh and btw don't worry about the professionality of the look, if you get serious about this edit and actually shoot for a release then I'm sure you'll learn all you need to in order to make it look really good.

P.S. In reference to Johnny Ringo's suggestion about breaking it down into acts and scenes, I thought the point was to get away from that and just make it into one movie, but newayz, I have previously suggested, somewhere else on the site, that someone make black and white grainy serial versions of the saga, since that's what G.L. said inspired him to make the movies in the first place, but then again, he is pretty full of B.S.!

Request: Edits and Xvids - file size limits help
Time
That's pretty funny as I have seen sooooooooo many ppl whining for the opposite, anyone who puts up an xvid nowadays is usually barraged with a billion requests for a DVD version so that there is no loss in quality. And to be honest I agree with those people, I download edits to add to my permanent collection not just to "give them a chance"! Regardless of the editing quality I want the video quality to be top notch when watching in my DVD player, as movies are meant to be seen, not on my pc, not on my hdd, but in my collection with a case and cover!

Calling all Programmers!!!
Time
Well I'm no where near smart enough to do this but I think it's a good idea. A fan edit amalgamation of software! I understand, at least, that coding a program from the ground up would be all too hard, but "borrowing" code from other software shouldn't be too big of a project that we can't accomplish. It would be nice for every editor here to have a single software solution for their edits, it really isn't any more "illegal" than fan editing and the end product could be distributed in the same way.

Heres the goal, a single software product that can do all of this in a single window:
1. Rip a dvd
2. Seperate 5.1 into 6 seperate audio channels
3a. Allow us to add effects from software like adobe after effects/shake/other various cgi software
----This should allow wipes, titles, lightsabers/laser blasts, filters, and all the other various cg work we might need to do
---------It should also allow the addition of subtitles
3b. Cut/paste the video and audio channels together or independantly
4. Make menus
5. Render the video and rebuild a dvd structure in files and as an image for burning and sharing

(Everything from 3a to 3b should be able to be done at the same time)

Even if noone on here has the skills needed it's still nice to dream, so speak up people give some suggestions!

MI:II Edit (* unfinished project *)
Time
As far as extras go in general, according to Amazon: the 1disc version has more than the 2disc version, both of them have the alternate title sequence, and no mention of deleted scenes.

HOWEVER, I did find this interesting little tidbit at imdb:
Trivia: The movie initially was rated "R", but was re rated "PG-13" after many action scenes were cut and the violence was trimmed down considerably.
AND
John Woo's final cut of the film clocked in at 3 1/2 hours. The studio balked at this length and told him that the final length could not exceed 120 min. This could explain why there are so many plot holes and continuity errors in the theatrical cut.

Adobe AE Questions
Time
Wow everyone is making this too complicated. After you rip the video, put it in womble, take the section you want and get rid of everything else on the timeline. Export that clip then load it into AE, in AE (I might have pro, not sure) you can highlight a selected area (select the area you need from the clean frame and save it). Apply it as another layer on top of the clip (the area where you selected will stay the same as the frame you selected it from, everything else in the clip [aside from the area you selected] will stay the same as it normally would for that frame) mark in where you want this to start, move the slider a few frames to where you want it to stop then mark out. Drag the slider back to the beginning and hit play just to see if you did it right, then export it. Then import it into womble and put the clip where it belongs. These are pretty basic and generalized directions, but once you start to mess with it I swear you get the hang of it in no time, I swear, this was the first type of thing I had to do in AE and it was fro someone elses edit and I was a total noob but after only a coupla hours everything turned out perfect! TheForce.net has some tutorials for this under the fan films section (thats where I learned) but if you can't figure it out, I'd be glad to walk you and/or anyone else through it, my AIM screenname is the exact same as my username on these boards!

Another bloody edit of TPM (* unfinished project *)
Time
Based on one of the points you are trying to make, one thing I have to point out, after the opening crawl you need to go straight into everyone escaping naboo in outer space, everything leading up to that could easily be told in a coupla lines in the crawl, and you aren't missing anything by removing it!

BTW, I don't know how this ties in with the starkiller ranch thing because I haven't read anything in those threads past the mention of recording new voices for the film!

well i can't say much about the monitors, wish i knew what you were talking about when you said spyder, but about the video card, well if you do any video editing then its time to switch to ati, anything x1000 and up come with a new ability for video conversion to be done by the video card and it's processor as opposed to your pc's processor, this allows for dramatic increases in speed! Not to mention ati isnt soo bad when it comes to gaming.

Star Wars: REBORN - The Complete Saga (* unfinished project *)
Time
Ha! This kinda sux, I've had this idea for a long while now and I was trying to keep it secret because I wanted to use Adywan's versions of the OT to complete it, I was going to make mine into just one long movie Godfather 2 esque where it would keep cutting back and forth. I guess it was only a matter of time b4 someone else stumbled onto the idea. Well I guess yours will help me better decide what direction I'm going in, anyway, will you be using the GOUT or 04 dvds for your edit?
