Cell block perspective was a good one. The rmeastering for '97 was excellent. Hmm lets see *thinks* I like the windows in Cloud City, and how much more expanded it is.
Does anyone know why in the SE's the Sunset in ANH was blue and black

I like the windows, too. The only part that bugs me is the Cloud Car fly-by right before the fixed single-story room with Leia.

ya thats a bit pointless.

On my DVD's when I use the theater setting to make the bars smaller I don't loose any picture. So I haven o idea what your on about lol. Then I'm like you to try and watch Ben Hur on a 4:3 display. That would be terrible.
I think what marioxb is saying is that he doesn't like to fill the 16:9 screen with the image- he prefers to leave it in 4:3 letterbox mode, so that there are bars on all 4 sides of the image- like a frame.

I know but I was jsut saying. Would you like to watch somthing with such a wide aspect ration in 4:3 frame?

Pirates of The Caribbean: Extended Edition - A Spence Edit (Released)

Hello everyone, I have nearly wrapped up a project i have been wanting to do for a while. There were a lot of very high quality deleted scenes for the first POTC, and I thought it would be fun to have a longer version of the film incorporating these scenes. Every deleted scene from the dvd is included here, adding about 20 minutes to the running time. Things that have changed:

* More Jack Sparrow antics. He also has a few more serious moments, mainly with Elizabeth, that add a little more dimension to his character.
* More of Norrington. He's less of a stock military character. In his added scenes, you can really feel that he cares of Elizabeth and he is much more sympathetic when the love triangle doesn't go his way.
* More fun little character moments with the crews of the different ships.
* More of Will and Jack in Tortuga, including some extra references to the Disney ride.
* More of Elizabeth and Jack on the island. My favorite additional scenes are in this section.

Overall these scenes just add a little bit more to an already great film. All of the characters benefit from this extra time.

I know that with some versions of this DVD, there was a third disc in the package titled "The Lost Disc". Can somebody who has this disc let me know if there are any other deleted scenes on it that are not included in the 2-disc edition?

The project is nearly complete, but I am a little stuck on a certain aspect. Anyone who has seen the deleted scenes knows that they are 1:85:1 and not 2:35:1 like the rest of the film. I have already made them anamorphic, but I still need to add the extra black bars to make the extra scenes 2:35:1. If anyone has a method for doing this, please let me know!

Thank you for your interest!

Cool, and this is funny, I was jsut about to make a thread about someone who should do this lol. Can't wait to get this edit

Good Idea, but there is one catch then this website would no longer exist

Then CO and Darth-Adroit didn't met, they don't go back in time to change history, then this website still exist, so they can meet each other, change history, and then this website no longer exists, they don't met and don't change history, this website exist..........

He would probably still insist that they are his proper vision but he would make the OOT widely available as an alternative. Thats how I see it.

And I'm not sure the ET Versus SW comparison is apt--ET was still a very limited, small release, while the SE was a wide-release, super-marketed BIG event.

Yes Zombie is on the right trail. It would be exactly like every other DVD release. One disk would have the classics remastered, but unaltered. You know George; the movies that won Oscars and launched careers? Those movies. The other disk would have the oxymoronic “evolving vision.” George could repackage and re-release the movies every three years updating the bullshit on the second disk and leaving the cultural icons untouched, warts and all.

It worked for Highlander and countless other films when they were moved to DVD. Why should Star Wars get lesser treatment?

CO if you develop a time machine let me know. We could go and warn our former selves or perhaps burn some critical reels of film. After that we need to erase some hard-drives; we could start with the CG Yoda mock-up and then move onto Jar Jar. With my Military training and your Time Machine we’ll be unstoppable; we can rule the galaxy as “bashers” and purist, bwa ha ha ha ha ha haaaa [queue up Imperial March Theme]

If you go see it, definitely stay through the credits. Some of my favorite gags come from the end. And it also pays an awesome homage to John Ratzenberger.

"Wait a second......what kind of cut-rate production is this?!"

HAHAhahaha I love that part

Ya, I have a very good I for CGI too and that movie had me convinced it was real

Star Wars Original Trilogy had 'it', but 'it' is hard to explain.

It is a shame that Lucas lost some people that helped him make SW & ESB. I mean ROTJ was great but if he still had Gary, and some of those people help him with ROTJ and the PT then we would have one ass kicking saga. *sighs* Well I mean I like both the PT (not nearly as much as the OT though) and the OT but there is jsut something about the OT that is amazing.

I know. I grew up on disney animation like Donald Duck, Dark Wing Duck, and all the old cartoons. I have wonderful memories of that stuff. then Disney channel premired an all CGI Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Donald, basically the whole gang show. I was like WTF this is not cool. They looked like lifeless plastic. It pissed me off. But I hope that the animation studio does make a return. Although Cars was great I want the animation back.
