The Official Lucasfilm Response

As I recall, the technicolor print was used only for reference, because it had held up much better than the other prints. here's something from an article on technicolor:

"An article on the 1997 restoration of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (original version 1977) claimed that a rare dye-transfer print of the movie, made for director George Lucas at the British Technicolor lab, had been used as a color reference for the restoration. The article claimed that conventional color prints of the movie had all degraded over the years to the extent that no two had the same color balance."

So, it's sitting there. I'll scale the wall. I need people outside The Ranch to create a diversion. Ready...break!

Ya the technicolor print has never been cut or anything, it is in great shape. there is also a pre-se master for ESB(I don't know whether it is the 70mm or 35mm), and ROTJ. They were remastered in 1993-1996 for the SE's. So masters for all there OOT films are there in the archive, but LFL is lazy(at least with GL running it) and will old use an LD master for us.

Yeah, jumping on somebody because of their age is gay (unless they are making extremely childish comments, which Darth_Evil is not). If I didn't know who was the elder out of Chrisdo and Darth_Evil, I would guess that Darth_Evil was the elder and Chrisdo was some young, foolish, cracked out teenager.

I'll say it again: Lay off the drugs dude.

I know. I had something happen to me like that on another forum I go to and ticked me off so much.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Lucas should have made the prequels in a retro style to match the originals and he would ahve gotten a lot of respect and credit for it. I'm talking old skool 70s style 'atari' displays, Animatronics/puppetry, etc.

If Starsky and Hutch can pull off a 70s look, why can't Stra Wars. It would be very cool IMO. The movies are set in a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. They are not set in the future. Why can't some things look a little outdated by our standards, while at the same time we have droids walking around and space travel is common place. I like the mix of old and new. For example, I had an idea for an animated series in which the Roman Empire never fell. The series is set in the future, so there would be robots and laser guns and stuff, but also people would still be wearing capes, and the soldiers would still resemble the old roman uniforms, etc. I think that would be cool.

P.S. Chrisdo, lay off the crack.

I know if they PT would have been made to fit the OT more I wouldn't be disapointed as much.
