The creator was not happy with the quality of these so he posted his own JPEG conversion on a.b.starwars.
happened on February 08, PM

The covers posted are the very same....
The "bad JPG conversions" were only up for a few hours on February 08.
The website which had them (for only a few hours), Now has the correct JPG's (same as Rikter's RAR has inside)

Rikter, your RAR contains only the JPG's but doesn't contain the original TIF's or the PDF case inserts
posted to alt.binaries.starwars the previous day. Do you need them ???

I don't have the Farsight Trilogy, but I believe it has the entire scene intact.

I do have the Farsight Trilogy, and it's still missing the Leia welding footage.

Ooops ! Rikter, did I put my foot in my mouth ? I'm sorry.
MBJ is right -- I'm not endorsing that either.
When I wrote "Torrent only the stuff that's new and different" I still mean OOT !
I just think Row47 is so similar to TR47 that I'd rather you torrent other STAR WARS stuff first.
Just my opinion, but after all you did ask....

If you WANT to take a break, you're entitled to one, just like Laserman.
If you want to torrent Row47, then I'LL take a break. No big deal.

But please don't stop altogether ... else I might have a lynch mob on my a**

Simon's idea of co-seeding is a good one, and it seemed to work well with the ADM ROTJ edit.
Rikter could seed at a modest rate (and still use his phone) and let somebody else do the heavy lifting.

However I'd vote NO to Row47 torrents and here's why.
First, I don't mean to diss Rowman's efforts -- he's definitely one of the good guys.
But the Row47 changes are minor, and the new TR47 set sounds like it's not far off the horizon.
I'm afraid to wear out our welcome @MySpleen among its members who aren't SW fans.
Already I've seen a few grumblings over there after the suprn*va witch-hunt went down.
Torrent only the stuff that's new and different.
Seed it all on a.b.sw (even though I don't have a usenet feed )

Molly, in zion's thread you spoke of trouble playing +R media. Can you say with certainty that you've tried one
which was burned with bit-setting software using the -ROM booktype ?

Sounds like you're using your bandwidth for a good cause, so here's an offer you can't refuse
I'll snail-mail you Rikter's forthcoming torrent (after I've gotten it) on Ritek/R03 +R medium
with bit-setting software and DVD-ROM booktype.
Will you try it in your player and report your results back to the group ?

Do you mean to say you deleted the whole thing and starting over from scratch ???!?!?!!
Any modern BT client is able to resume a partial download, and the BT protocol has error checking built-in.
The client can identify which pieces are good, and only re-get the bad pieces.
Oh well, live and learn the hard way I guess....

I had it downloaded and somehow it got corrupted.

How did you determine it to be corrupt ? By chance, did you have trouble burning it ?
Were you using mkisofs, or a GUI frontend to it ? If yes, you might check out what I wrote
near the end of the Dr.Gonzo thread regarding both "Making of" torrents.

WHICH directions ?
Start here if you haven't seen this one already
http://userpages.umbc.edu/~hamilton/btclientconfig.html
then hit me offline with specific questions.

You've taken the hardest step already--recognizing the problem and asking for help.
The rest will be easy. And you make an excellent point--you needn't abandon the firewall entirely.

Hopefully we can get "Pluto" back to the Light Side as well.

Hal are you listening ? (or reading my lips ?)

The "Dr. Gonzo" Trilogy DVD Info and Feedback Thread (Released)

mkisofs refused to master those "Making of .." part 1 & 2 torrents
because the VIDEO_TS.IFO/VOB/BUP were non-standard-compliant.
I used a hex editor to fix the IFO and BUP, then it worked okay.

Sounds like you're having a different sort of problem though.

I CAN help you find the Supplemental Material if you turn on Private Messaging in your profile.

"Star Wars Extras" at MySpleen isn't Dr.Gonzo's. It's Farsight's.
Dr.Gonzo's "Supplemental Material" is at TorrentBox.com

I like Dr.Gonzo's better for its colour, and also because its still images can be viewed as a slideshow on a standalone player. Farsight's still images are in the "DVD-Others zone" (outside the VIDEO_TS directory) so they can only be seen on a computer.

So mallwalker, what is your favourite set currenlty? (Love that avatar)

Don't ask me -- I'm hardware-challenged !
My TV is 20" with only composite input using a generic cable that came with the $35 non-progressive player,
so I've got no idea which set has the sharpest picture.
I prefer Dr.Gonzo's colors, although my set is uncalibrated.
I like TR47's sound, but my stereo lacks ProLogic or any other surround flavor.
But the most important thing is I'm watching Star Wars at home, finally !
My Faces VHS Pan/Scan box (hey, it was a gift) is collecting dust
still in shrink-wrap because I never owned a VCR.
But now I can watch Star Wars at home !!!
Gonzo's set was my first, and still the one most frequently watched.

And the avatar I pinched from sifo-dyas....

The Cowclops Transfers (a.k.a. the PCM audio DVD's, Row47 set) Info and Feedback Thread (Released)

Basically, if you didn't find a problem with the audio in the first set, you won't find a problem with the audio in this set either. The analog in on a TBSC has to be at least as good as the analog in on a sony TR7000 digital8 camcorder. Even if it is a more "technically accurate" manner of recording, syncing a digital rip of the audio to the video would be far more of a pain in the ass and imperfect sync will be more of a bother than the quality lost due to going analog to digital to analog (since it has to be resampled ANYWAY, why not just let the ADC on the sound card do it in the process of recording?)

Cowclops,
At least one forum member has reported slight clipping in the first set.
Look for a post by drjimmy526 on October 8 in the Zion thread.
I replied (also October 8) asking Zion if he planned to capture analog or rip the PCM.
Thanks to your post (and Google confirmation) I now realize a PCM rip isn't quite the panacea I first thought.
LaserDisc PCM is sampled at the Red Book rate of 44.1kHz while DVD PCM is 48kHz,
so it would have to be re-sampled as you have stated above. Thanks for pointing that out.

Thanks also for the wiring link. I too was an EE student (although I never worked in the field after graduation)
who never bought into the name-brand cable hoopla.

Just got these AVI's. They're polished turds.
I've not seen GL's AOTC, but I can't imagine how bad it must smell.

Maybe I should try the novelizations.
I *am* interested in the prequel storyline, but I find the CGI unwatchable.
The vehicle trajectories, the creature movements -- Isaac Newton must be spinning in his grave !
