DVD: Return of the Ewok and Other Little Films (Released)

It's DVD-Rom content on Rikter's KCCI Holiday Special disc --

Its too bad no one has put together a musical compilation torrent or anything...

Although it hasn't been torrented, Rikter has put together one heck of a musical compilation.
That disc has 1.1G of OGG and MP3 music in its DVD-Rom content,
in addition to the best Holiday Special available (well, equal to RowMan's I guess)

Don't get technical with me...
Time
I too am a firm believer in bit-setting to DVD-ROM, and I've read many good comments about RICOHJPN/R01's.

I'm about halfway through a spindle of them I picked up at BestBuy wearing a FujiFilm 4x label,
but these days FujiFilm at my local BestBuy are 8x YUDEN000/T02 media.
I once ordered a spindle of RiData from an online dealer whose website claimed they were RICOHJPN/R01
but when they arrived they were RITEK/R03.

MaximRecoil, where do you buy your RICOHJPN/R01's ?

Info: Fixing the ESB TR47 4 second black screen

Soon we'll need a sticky index thread to list all the other threads covering this topic:

http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=9&threadid=2495
http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=9&threadid=2326
http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=9&threadid=1307

Seriously though, the third link might help to jog RowMan's memory (scroll down to October 03)

Announcement: Sticky Threads
Time
Bravo !

I too prefer seeing threads sorted by date. Computers are good at sorting.
The server can do it better and faster than my eyes & brain can scan the page.
Let the computer do the work.

If I want to find a particular project thread, I'll use the Search function.
It's easy enough to click Search and type "X0", "Cowclops" or whatever.

[I do wish the Search function worked on article contents as well as titles....]

And why do threads need to have the word "Thread" in the title ? Isn't it redundant ?
If it doesn't have the word "Thread" in the title, then it's not a thread ?
Does it serve any purpose, other than cluttering the page ?

******* The "I've got more asterisks than you in the title of my thread" Thread *******

I'm not advocating an asterisk race, but what purpose do they serve if everybody uses precisely three ?
We've got detente with three asterisks each. Cut it to zero. Less is more.

Edit:
The search function doesn't work so well if one types "XO" instead of "X0"
as I had done earlier in my post.

PAL vs NTSC laserdiscs

Are you sure the discs you have are Dr_Gonzo's ?
In this thread Dr_Gonzo said he IVTC'ed his discs. I'm still learning, but I thought IVTC'ing removed 3:2 pulldown ?
I'll bet russs15 can help identify the discs you've got, if there's any uncertainty.

Regardless, best of luck with your own capture !

For those that cannot play PAL DVD's....

Not only will you save time converting, you might save time watching as well
if your $35 cheapo plays PAL 4% too fast, as mine does.

I've heard it said "most people" don't notice the speedup, but for a movie I've seen as many times
as STAR WARS, it sticks out like a sore thumb to my ears.

Which players (cheap, or not so) play PAL films at ~24fps ?

Vote early and often.
What's to stop somebody from stuffing the ballot box ?

I've stayed neutral since I haven't seen all the sets.
I might choose a favorite among those I've seen, but that'd be choosing the lesser of so many evils
if I haven't ever seen the best ones.
A vote from anyone who hasn't seen all the sets could skew the results.

You'll see a hierarchical list of information stored in the ifo file. Click on VMGM_MAT and a plus sign will appear next to it. Click the plus to expand and you'll see First Play PGC. Click on it, then scroll down in the bottom window until you see the Pre Command(s). You'll see a command saying "(JumpTT) Jump to Title: 1." Right-click on that command and choose "Edit Command." Change the command to "(JumpSS_VTSM) Jump to Titleset Menu." Set the Title number to 1, Titleset number to 1, and Menu to "Root."

That should do it. Just save the VIDEO_TS.IFO file and try it out.

<strong>The &quot;EditDroid&quot; Trilogy DVD Info and Feedback Thread</strong> (Released)
Time
While it's true most players don't read it and it can be safely omitted, I like to include it anyway.
The player I buy tomorrow might recognize it.
If I burn a copy for another, his/her player might read it today.
Simply because it's on the original, I feel copies should include it too. Otherwise they're incomplete.

Here's a temporary link to Rikter's file,
including an updated .NFO (compared to the one inside the torrent)

Edit: hyperlink removed

Help Wanted: an MP3 of the 1.0 mono mix from the pre-ANH projects?

Belbucus, click my blue eyeglasses icon to find the link on my user profile page. PM me if your IP addy doesn't have permission.
Those are Moth3r's .rar files listed on my website (containing the FLAC version, not the MP3).
Do you recall the emails we exchanged at mid-March on this very topic ? My offer still stands.
Would you prefer I re-post the files to alt.binaries.starwars instead of downloading directly from me ?
