I believe the files you posted match your discs, but what makes them Correct with a capital "C" ?
Did you receive your discs directly from EditDroid himself ?
I'm guessing No since the art on your discs don't match the ones EditDroid himself posted back in February.
Also, the NFOs on your discs match the torrents, and I doubt EditDroid himself would use those NFOs.
Yet the VIDEO_TS.IFO on your discs don't match the torrents.

Sorry to be the fly in the ointment, but this is what Preservation means to me.

Lest everyone think I have nothing positive to say, your Special Collection discs arrived here Saturday with Oct 6 postmark.
I'll be offering them back in the Special Collection thread in a few days, after I've copied them onto my own DVD+R blanks.

It sounds like the SFV file has been done using one of the versions and you have the other version.
I thought the same thing -- until I fired up IfoEdit and had a look.
segaflip's file has "(JumpTT) Jump to Title: 1" same as Blaksvn's. The difference lies elsewhere.

The Official Dark/Sega Special Collection OT LD Release Thread (Not an SE Transfer) (Released)
Time
Please Mr. Postman, look and see
if there's a letter in your bag for me ....

segaflip, I'm wondering if you never received my snail mail addy, which I sent by PM on September 20 ?
Maybe your PM box was full at the time, or maybe my box was too full ...
... or mabye I'm just too impatient.
Anyway, I'm still very much interested in that Special Collection set you offered me,
and I've cleared stuff from by PM box so it's not full now.

Alternatively, I'd be happy to wait if you'd add Special Collection to your a.b.sw "Q"

Yes, weird that the number decreased after you added the word Final.
After downloading it both ways, I see the two .torrent files are identical, just different names.
I'll edit my previous post too, so others won't be confused as I was.
Thanks for sharing.

My 1997' SE laserdisc transfer set - including extras.... (Released)

If all content providers would give checksums for their master files, like Doctor M did with his RTW releases, then the probability of "small errors crop in" could be reduced to one-in-a-gazillion.
Without checksums, Murphy's law says "small errors" (or maybe not so small) WILL crop in.

Info: some specs & info on my dark_jedi OT preservation releases
Time
Thanks DJ for your quick reply, and for sharing your efforts with the world.
I look forward to seeing the DC-derived set. I'll probably pass the Pan/Scan and SE ones, but I'm sure others will enjoy those.

On second thought, I might grab the P/S ANH just to hear its soundtrack.
Anyone know if the 5651-80 disc contains the orginal stereo mix from 1977 ?

Info: some specs & info on my dark_jedi OT preservation releases

Yes, I too am "pretty sure" the DC laserdiscs contain 2.35:1 images (for the Trilogy proper, not necessarily the Supplementals), and I'm pretty sure Pan/Scan laserdiscs contain 4:3 images.
However that wasn't the question I was trying to ask.

The EditDroid & TR47 sets contain 2.35 images letterboxed within a 4:3 frame,
while Gonzo, Farsight & Cowclops contain 2.35 images letterboxed within a 16:9 frame.
I'm confident dark_jedi's DC-derived set presents the films in their original aspect ratio, but that doesn't answer my question of whether or not the DVDs are anamporphic, or whether they've been IVTCed.
Those bits of info seem pertinent IMHO, considering the title of this thread.
On the other hand, the thread title does say "some specs" so one might argue it shouldn't contain all the specs.
NTSC or PAL ? (Please, noone tell me the DC source is NTSC -- I'm asking about the finished DVDs.)

Now that my 1138 torrent is finished I've begun to download d_j's Ep4 from a.b.sw, so I'll know the answer soon enough.
Afterwards, I'll still believe those bits ought to be added to the initial post for the benefit of others.

Dr. M's Reinventing The Wheel Edition (PAL to NTSC+) (Released)
Time
Thank you.

I hope others will follow your lead and provide checksums for their creations.

Let's imagine you send a disc to Tom, with .SFV included, and Tom pays it forward to Dick.
Maybe Dick isn't too tech-savvy, or maybe he smoked one too many alt.hoobiedoobie.thingies and lacks attention to detail.
Dick's still a nice guy however, so he pays forward to Harry. But the disc arrives at Harry's sans .SFV file.
Shit happens, right ? (Remember the case of the missing EditDroid JACKET_P and DVD-Rom content ?)
Not a problem. Harry can get the .SFV right here from this thread, straight from the horse's mouth as it were,
and then be confident (gazillion-to-one probability anyway) that his disc is a clone not merely a copy.

Now I've got copies of your .SFV files tucked away for safe keeping, so I'm set.
But months from now, will the external hyperlinks still be active ? Is that a (semi)permanent web site ?
If I had my druthers, I'd ruther see the contents of the files cut-n-pasted on page 1 of this thread
along with tech specs and any other info for quick easy reference.

[Of course that begs the question Will this forum still be here months from now ?
Jay has talked about overhauling this site using different software. What will be the fate of
the wealth of historical information archived within this forum ? Sure it's difficult to search,
but still worth keeping IMHO. I hope the current forum's database can be imported into
whichever new software Jay chooses.]
