If the Gungans are all clones (other than love child Jar-Jar) the TPM battle could be the end of the Great Clone War and their gratitude to the Republic and the passing on of their cloning techniques could be the beginning of Clone War 2.
That's great! Ive long been struggling with how to explain the pluralization of clone "wars" and, while I would prefer cutting out gungans entirely, this is on the right track to providing a reasonable explanation.
Oh yeah I actually had no idea what a torrent was until I wanted to download these. Harmy has inadvertently taught me alot about technology. haha
Yeah, I discovered the v1.0 of the trilogy and got it off thepiratebay before I ever came across the forum. Don't know why people can't do a simple Google search to find it.
Was there some kind of popular article or something about Harmy recently or something? What is with the sudden onslaught of people coming on the forum asking where they can get it? I mean there's always a couple that pop up from time to time but recently it's been ridiculous!
So do you think the best route would be to find a happy medium between the warmer lpp and the cooler tech?

it goes both waysI'm tempted to make the obvious joke, but the last time I made a similar joke, a humorless doink lost his shit.
Who are you calling a doink! That's offensive! How dare you use such language! Have you no self respect! I for one am proud of my doinkness thank you very much!

Seems like I downloaded MKV versions of ESB and ANH...but I read somewhere that it's best to get the AVHD version? (unsure if I have the acronym right there)
Which version is best for the intended use to put it on Blu-Ray?
If u intend to put it on a blu-Ray disc then u have the right version.

The movie is a horribly written, horribly directed and horribly edited piece of boring shit, no colour correction can fix that. But I must admit the new colour palette looks much better
Movie wasn't perfect but I think that's taking it a bit far. Personally, I would do some trimming to streamline the story a bit and remove some of the less important moments, but I think the writing is fine. If you don't like it, that's one thing, but you know, that's like, your opinion man.

If you have a Blu Ray player and a DVD burner, you can burn the AVCHD version to a dual layer DVD and watch it on your BLu Ray player. If you only have a DVD player, then you should search around for the DVD 5 version and burn that to a DVD.
Can I burn DVDs using my computer, or do I need some sort of external burner?
Most modern computers have a dvd drive built in, so you shouldn't need an external burner.
In that newest sample just something that stood out to me is that in a number of the shots with a starfield backdrop, the stars tend to kind of flicker and dance around. Some randomly disappear and some randomly appear. I think this may have something to do with the process of using neighboring frames and (at least for me) it was pretty distracting.
All in all it is a tremendous accomplishment strictly in the improved detail.

Also the scene with Dooku and Ob1 never set well with me. first of all it looked ridiculous. Ewan looked like he was hanging from wires and why on earth he would be spinning like that makes no sense to me. were the geonosians trying to induce some sort of motion sickness to torture him???
Yeah this was always a wasted scene. It could be interesting to move some of the dialogue to the duel at the end of the film, especially with Dooku persuading Obi-Wan to join him. It could add a bit more suspense to the fight when Obi-Wan refuses, and Dooku moves in to kill him.
Agreed!!
I wonder if this could be accomplished by rotoscoping dooku from that scene into the duel scene background in some close up shots and overlaying dialogue when the character's back's are turned.
Speaking of "New Hope", will a version of the film with the '81 crawl be released?

I think seeing the same specific ship in the Prequels would be almost as ridiculous as seeing a child Han, or the existing scene of Chewbacca. Just pure fan service that shrinks the universe.
I'm all for a consistent "hero ship" throughout the PT, just not the falcon.
Why not then take the original design for the falcon (altered slightly and later used as the Tantive IV) and use that as the hero ship, calling it simply, "The Tantive"
Use the falcon but really really streamline it and make it much more slick. I don't think we need to see it become a grungy bucket of bolts gradually. It should just be assumed that years of use and Han's "special modifications" made it that way.
Which there's no reason for them not to. Basically guaranteed profit. Plus your restoration is so good, there's pretty much a guarantes that they will never have to do another restoration again.
Ok, so fox has these obligations legally. But aren't those obligations due to lucasfilm? Could disney/kathleen kennedy/somebody with lucasfiln not make a new deal with fox nullifying the previous obligations to never release and in fact destroy copies of the original version?

I've wished for years now that some ambitious filmmaker, with the muscle and resources behind him, would redo the prequels and give us all something we could be proud and excited for. Instead of the dreadful disappointment it looks like we're forever doomed to live with. :(
Hmm... if only ;)
Ok, so I don't have a perfect working knowledge of super-resolution, but my understanding is it needs two pictures to work and you are using neighboring frames to accomplish this, correct?
My question is, why not use two different souces, such as the GOUT and another laserdisc release and do this using two of the same frames from either source to accomplish the super-resolution process, thus eliminating some of the issues that may come with using neighboring frames?

Hi everyone, I'm new here and I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but how do I download the movie?
Go to the first page of the thread. If still confused, take some time and scroll through the rest of the thread until you get your answer.
I have to say, as a kid, Jedi was my favorite, but then again the ewoks obviously didn't bother me then. haha
Obviously now I understand why Empire is by far superior to SW or Jedi, but Jedi will always hold a special place in my heart for being the most worn out vhs in my collection

Is the lightsaber that's handed to presumably Leia definitely Luke's/Anakin's?
Anything's possible, but I would almost guarantee it is.
I gotta say, standing there at that panel watching JJ and Kathleen Kennedy and the cast and THE TRAILER was amazing. I watched the trailer on my phone afterward and while it is still AMAZING to see, standing there freaking out with thousands of other fans also freaking out was an electric energy that I have yet to feel in my life until this day.

Yesterday I had the chance to go to a private screening of an IB TECH Star Wars 1977 35mm print in Los Angeles.
All I can say is wow - this print was in INSANE shape. Great colors and almost no scratches. Basically was in a time capsule - mesmerizing.
Jealous! Wish I'd heard about this, would have driven up for it (assuming "private" means "in-the-know" and not just a small group of friends).
Ditto!

So to throw another idea into the ring ...
some time ago I asked if anybody has read "the Star Wars" comic - seems there is a bit of the prophecy in this concept-based book - since the main source was at one point the "journal of the Whills", before it became the family saga of the Skywalkers.
anyway, in mentioned comic/backstory, "The Skywalker" is refered something like the "Dune messiah" - so we could tie up another thought some had here, to not name Anakin, and leaving his full name for the OT ...
bridging this to an idea how to name characters, because I find the name "Anakin" somewhat strange, in contrast to "(Ben) Obi-Wan Kenobi" - it would be better if Jedi had similar name-combinations or "titles" (not unlike the Sith, if one keeps "Darth" as this)
maybe "Anakin" could turn into "Ana-Kin" or "Ani-Kin" (other combinations like "Ana-Kheen"?)
I like changing his name to "Ana-Kin" as a Jedi name or something. Fits in with "Obi-Wan" or "Qui-Gon" or something. It being a "Jedi name" gives a real reason behind him renouncing the name and hating it later in life other than just being like "I was given this sith name. Guess now I never want to be referred to by the name I have been known by my entire life again."
