Just watched the original Iron Man last night. I had forgotten what a damn good movie it is. Definitely very near the top of my list of favorite superhero movies.
Many of them grew up with the PT but still consider it shit (though have a soft spot).

Short of completely replacing the background with a model or something, I doubt there’s really any way to make majority of AOTC look like anything less than actors standing in front of a greenscreen with a cgi backdrop.

That shot is in pretty bad shape, but here’s one of the frames:
The first few minutes of the scan has the worst fading, with the left side of the frames more purple, and the right side more blue.
Crazy what can be pulled out of it with a little work though.

Not sure where you got that 4GB version of SW, but I’m afraid if you want 720p under 5GB, you’re gonna probably have to use handbrake or something to make it yourself. As far as I know there is no “official” version of despecialized like that (official meaning not “approved” by Harmy)

If you have a decent bluray player/HDTV, it should do a fairly decent job of upscaling the SD content either way. Won’t be in any way comparable to watching the avchd or mkv hd versions, but should be very watchable.
Little update/addition to the bonus disc for those interested. The bonus disc will now contain the 1978 Academy Awards, edited to include only those segments related to Star Wars (i.e. only the awards for which Star Wars was nominated/won).

This is an idea I had. Not necessary by any means, and would probably piss some people off, but maybe a way to connect the trilogies more would be to, instead of replacing Shaw with Christensen in ROTJ, give Shaw the wardrobe worn by the Anakin of the prequels. Would perhaps allow first time viewers to more easily identify who the new ghost is. Doesn’t make much sense for ghost Anakin to be wearing something he never wore in life.

No, I’m sorry, the intention of the project is to present the official releases in as high quality as possible. Emanswfan’s version, while I’ve been following it and am very excited about it, does not accurately represent any official version of the film, and thus will not be used in this BD set.
They brought in ewan to do the line and it was actually ewan’s idea to try to pull Guinness dialogue to blend it.
