STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

I know I'm a bit late with this, but I really like this shot:

Although I think that the transports should be moved a bit further back to enhance the scale.

I agree. The transports need to be further up in the picture, or the men in the left side of the picture need to be removed. The relationship between those men and the men in the foreground sets a scale that clashes with the scale between the foreground and the starship. There is no way to convince me that the starships are located at a lower elevation than the pilots.

The haze over the starship in the original picture helps a lot with the scale as well. A background element should never have better focus than the foreground.

So just for my own sanity...are they in a galaxy looking at a galaxy (within a galaxy) or are they outside of a galaxy looking at a galaxy? Im so confused.

In the EU, they are in orbit around a star that belongs to the galaxy but which is high above the galactic plane.

In the real world, our planet is located in the outer rim of the Milky Way galaxy. If you happen to be in a rural area without any light pollution during a night with clear skies, you could see most of the galaxy as a band where the stars are denser than otherwise.

You should change it to Needa taking an escape pod and being intercepted, then brought to Vader :P

Escape pod into an asteroid field? No, that does not make sense. You use a pod when you want to be rescued, and there is nobody in the asteroid field that could rescue you except for the Imperial fleet.

If he wanted to get away, he could choose a good shuttle that just happened to carry a hyperdrive. He was supposed to get a shuttle anyway, and as captain he could choose any shuttle he wanted. Then, he could just command the shuttle to enter hyperspace after takeoff.

Would anyone want to see more star wars movies if they were made ?
Time

After having seen the prequels, get worse and worse, and then the Clone Wars ... I don't have any hopes that the current people at Lucasfilm would do a very good job, so NO, I do NOT want Lucasfilm to make another Star Wars movie in the immediate future.

Perhaps in a decade or so, when perhaps GL's kids run the franchise and are (hopefully) wise enough to hire good people to do episodes seven, eight and nine RIGHT.

What's the beef with Prowse?
Time

Easterhay said:

How much is he charging for his autographs nowadays? I think he's made a very healthy living out of Star Wars and has been ultimately stupid in biting the hand that feeds him.

I have heard Dave Prowse say that attending conventions and signing autographs is basically the only thing that he is doing these days.

I have lost count of how many conventions that I have been to where Dave Prowse have been writing signatures, but I have never seen the price of his signature being very high in comparison. He is on the same level as Kenny Baker and Jeremy Bulloch who are also seen very often. Anthony Daniels charges more. I have seen background actors charge less, but not always.

Mind you, that Lucasfilm has at most one or two conventions per year, and there are many, many others. Several firms organize three conventions annually. I have heard that LFLs terms for guests are nowhere near as good as those that other convention organizers provide. The income that the autograph signers get from Lucasfilm's events can only be a fraction of what they get from doing other events.

Oh, I have heard many people talk about bad experiences with Anthony Daniels. My own impression, from meeting him at three events, including backstage, is that he is quite pedantic, and takes any job very seriously, perhaps too seriously. I have also heard Dave Prowse speak publicly about how he dislikes Anthony Daniels ...

Return of the Jedi cut-scene

Just because the scene was half assed in 83 doesn't mean it isn't real. That's probably why it was cut out of the film to begin with.

I claim the shots of Luke to be a fake because Mark Hamill has said on several occasions that they were never shot with him in it. Each time, he sounded much more sure of himself than I think that he did at CV ...

They could have shot another actor's hands holding the lightsaber back in '82. That just wasn't Hamill.

The composition of the shot follows the storyboard: http://www.starwarsholidayspecial.com/swcs/episode6/images/Luke-saber_storyboard_small.jpg

The other shots are obviously from the 80's. The corridor is well-known, and can be seen in Return of the Ewok here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0dirZH0aKY (2:11)

Come on, guys, look at Luke's chin in that clip and look at Mark's chin...not even close!!!

LOL. I have seen other people post "That is definitely Mark Hamill's chin.".

Anthony Daniels had told me that he had shot a scene with him outside the cave looking in, but that he was the only actor in that shoot. George Lucas himself had beeped R2's "dialogue" which C-3PO reacted to.

This was done very late in the production when they shot the scene with the droids walking towards Jabba's palace. It was a last-minute idea.

The whole scene, though.. I call bullcrap! I am convinced that Luke's obscured face is from another shot. Why else would they show him with the face dark and the hood up? I came to this forum, hoping that some expert on the ROTJ footage could identify it.

Mark Hamill has told us fans at numerous times, in a live fan interview at Hyperspace's forum several years ago and in person to several fans that he did not remember shooting the scene.

I don't follow this thread any more. The good stuff is hidden between too much that is off-topic. I have better things to do in my spare time than to wade through twenty pages of cruft each time I go here.

Good luck AdyWan! Here's looking forward to seeing the result, whenever, ifever, it is released.

The request for a image of the shield generator on Hoth was made a long time ago, and I just happened across this today. Apparently its from a special feature on the old Laser discs narrated by Don Bies at LFL Archives.

It's from the Definitive Collection, of which there are several DVD rips.

I noticed something when I watched ESB the other day. I don't know if this has been mentioned before.

In the scene when Zev Senesca is flying his snowspeeder looking for Luke and Han we see out from the front window him going towards a large black rock. Later, when he is saying his last line in this shot, we see that black rock -- from the same angle, but through the back window. It is obviously the same shot, but played backwards.

Boba fett eject from the sarlacc at some point would also be a bonus.

It is just this kind of revisionism that most fans dislike about the SE.

Yes, there are fans who want him to have got out, and he did, in the EU. But in the EU, he got out much later in the story, and after much hardships -- something that Boba Fett could do because of his hard character, skill and experience, not something that he did easily because he could press the right button on his gauntlet. When he got out, he did so without his armour, badly injured.

I think that it should be kept as it is. That would please both the purists and the Boba Fett fans and stay consistent with the EU.

The tortured droid in Jabbas palace with the hot irons on his feet, the irons dont actually make contact with his feet (on a close up of all things) yet the droid screams and steam comes out. (personally i would get rid of the screams all together as its a little too battledroid humour for me, but making the irons make contact should be easy in after effects.

I agree. I have never liked the screams.

Metal changes colour slightly when heated to high temperatures, before it glows. Perhaps the colour of the soles could be animated slightly.

I love this idea.

I think that it needs a little bit more tweaking to make it look more like a real camera movement and not something done in a computer.

First stay at the top, and add some acceleration. Perhaps some warping to simulate a wide-angle lens.

When did you realize the Prequels sucked?
Time

When a friend of mine, who had recently seen a bootleg low-res copy of TPM (I'm in Sweden, we had to wait three months to get it in theaters here) told me that there was a character in it that reminded a lot of an annoying character from a video game that we had played a week before.

As for Episode III, it started to go downhill at the beginning when you could see Ewan McGregor's expression that he really did not care anymore ...

So Who Killed Palpatine, Anyway? (This thread is made from 100% post-poster recycled bandwidth)
Time

I think that the answer could be: Newton's second law and an ill-placed girder.

But really? We never saw it happen... so he could have been falling for a long time until the Death Star eventually blew up.

You're all wrong. Emperor Palpatine was killed by global warming.

Inconvenient? The truth often is.

Precisely. The globe in this case being the Death Star, and the warming being from when the reactor erupted.

this is from ROTJ on the bridge of the Executor i'm pretty sure...

can you see what's wrong here?

The guy in front has no rank badge.

Black uniforms on the bridge. I am not sure about the context, but it might be in order.

Why are there shutters over the windows? The man in front is looking out one of the bridge's side windows, right?
