You cannot have a protagonist that wears a stationary mask the whole time.
It would be UN-watchable.

How about Obi's line "How uncivilized" when he kills Greivous.
That's a gag line paying off a line he wont say for two more movies!
If you want to get into that, all the allusions are rendered just as baffling if watched "in order" as they are unnecessary when watched as released:
"This is where the fun begins." [Why is Han saying what Analkid said...?]
"I have a baaad feeling about this." [Why do all the people in this galaxy say that all the time...?]
If they're trying to be incognito, they could at least change out of the gleaming white clothes they were wearing when they staged their daring escape from the Death Star...
And the hair. It's sorta distinctive now that I see it in that context...
^ Are you saying that others should have less than full confidence in the thread you authored: "TV's Frink is genuine, helpful, straightforward and an all-round upstanding Netizen"?
Wow. I had completely repressed the memory of Artoo flying.
It is unbelievable that I live in a Universe where the PT can exist.

Just like "padawan" was in Lucas's very first notes and the concept of midichlorians existed in the 70s. Certain ideas are dropped for a reason, and when an idea is dropped for a reason, it shouldn't be brought back.
Well said, oh Dark and Tech-y One.

We had a search function but it never worked properly I just add "site:originaltrilogy.com" to the end of a google search on whatever subject I'm looking up but I do also have a very good memory for old threads.
Even if you have a great memory for old threads, you still need to search for them to locate which page they're on...
How do you search for old threads anyway?
I don't see a search engine widget on the forum page...
EDIT: Based on the "Feature Request" forum, it was removed.
So how are you going to fault this guy for not digging up an old thread? In fact, doesn't this mean that once a thread falls off page 1, a new thread HAS to be started on that topic or else the user has to go page by page through the whole history in hopes that there MIGHT be a preexisting relevant topic?
You flyboys crack me up.

Zombie probably answered this question in his book, but I'm too lazy to look it up so I'll ask it here:
Was the original plan (circa 1980) to just keep going and make 6, 7, 8, 9, etc, or was George already planning on doing the PT before the ST?
I remember seeing a tv news story on youtube from, I think, the time of Empire's production/release where they're interviewing Hamill on set and he says "I can't wait to see the earlier trilogy, the one I'm not in."
Zombie recently posted a masterful & authoritative article on secrethistoryofstarwars.com answering every question on this issue that can possibly be answered.

Make the movies half the length?
But how would you pack the necessary violence into just 2 1/2 hours?
This is if there were six movies as opposed to three.
Am I being Ric Trollied?
Unwatchable nonsense all.

Alderaan shooting first is the worst IMO.
Just seeing this for the first time.
Fucking brilliant on so, so many DEEP, deep levels.
This post just made my day a year after the fact.

Beru's collar looks very 70s Tatooine. :-) Maybe those went out of style after 30+ years?
In favor of shapeless burlap robes.
Yes.
Off topic?
Never been there, based on a warning a teacher gave me once.
Something about a "hive of scum and villainy" IIRC...
This thread reminds me of why I never want to see any further "Star Wars" movies.
I Lucas has ANY input into them, it will turn out that Han is actually Jangle Fart's long-lost brother, and Lando is Mace Windu's son, and Emperor Palpatine is the father of everyone with the surname "Antilles" in the entire universe. And it will just shrink and shrink and shrink and shrink and shrink and shrink ...

'Quiggly John'I laugh my ass off every time.
"Every time"?
This would appear to be only the second appearance of his True Name--the first being when I christened him like three days ago.
Do you just read my posts over and over?
Can't say I blame you. I would too.

I don't understand how head banging is a genetic trait...
I certainly don't see how an accent is a genetic trait either, but apparently some people on this thread do, so why not headbangerism?
Since when are Stormtroopers clones?
NEAT!
I didn't look at all the external stuff closely--do we know if this was dubbed or subbed? [EDIT: never mind--I see he posted many clips and I don't see any subtitles, so it's dubbed]
Looks like a blast. Part of what makes the clip of the opening shot look rough is the flicker, which is hopefully an artifact of the video recording.
The colors are scrumptious.
Yes but when Ben says categorically that he cannot recall ever owning a droid, well that was just a lie wasn't it--since he owned the very R2 unit Luke was asking him about.
Then again, Ben's made out to be a big liar by ESB, so...
