True story. Best part was that some college-y-looking young woman started evaluating some discarded furniture peppered throughout the trash bags, looking for something salvageable, while the squatting dude was on the other side of the heap (New York City has some massive trash-mountains on trash days…and sometimes all week!). She was poring over the candidates, and didn’t notice the dude until she was practically on top of him. Then she lets out an audible-but-squished-sounding “O!” and shuffled away sideways—but in no particular hurry as she kept examining the furniture!
