How would you like it if someone made fun of your orange jacket?

How would YOU like it if someone made fun of your black sweatshirt?  And I see you're trying to make what I like to call the "Olie" face.  Nice try, but you'll have to do a lot better than that if you want to be the Handsomest Devil from Naboo.

Ric Olie forgot to answer the other question.

It's a black jacket with a hood, but it's ok we're both only joking around....not fighting....right? :D

Do you mean in a "and we would of got away with the Death Star if it wasn't for those darned pesky kids" sort of way?

That's fine if you are writing a Robot Chicken sketch but not really fitting the darkest and best written episode of the OT ,though I appreciate Ady is stuck with what is possible (still unwobbly, wobbly helmets do happen).

Haha, no. :)

I meant he's really not happy in the....er....'Shakespearean' way, which fits in with the mood and style of the film.

Ok here's my two cents on the topic.

I think it actually makes sense for The Emperor to call him 'young Skywalker' because a part of him will be pissed off over Luke blowing up his Death Star (that took many years to plan and complete) - and therefore 'young Skywalker' screwed everything up for him.

I hope that made sense; because it makes sense to me :)

I have no problem with the original line btw, but I actually think the new line sounds more powerful. It may be almost impossible to create the original line seamlessly just with McDiarmid's voice, but we'll see what happens.

EDIT: Oh and Vader's line 'If he could be turned....' comes after the 'young Skywalker' line of Palpatine - which makes the new line make sense in a way because Vader is obviously concerned about the welfare of Luke rather than thinking of him as a potential enemy like the Emperor does.

Ady....how's the edit going? What are you working on right now? Peace.....

Well, on the modelling side of things,  i've been building the skeleton for the new Wampa puppet. The jaw was a bit tricky to get a more natural movement than was in the original puppet and make it look like a real jaw bone and not something that just pops open. The facial sculpture of the Wampa is complete and the mould has been made ready for the latex to be applied.  I've made the head section so that it can be worn by a person, although they wouldn't be able to see out of it. The puppet is going to be a head and shoulders, the same as the original, but unlike the original it is also going to feature a section of the arms. When he swings at Luke in the opening shots i want the audience to be able to see the shoulder movement and part of the arm lashing out.

On the video side of things, well what i have been working on is top secret. This is going to be something that i won't be revealing until the movie is released.

It sounds like it'll look impressive; a lot of hard work too, but something that I'm positive will look most impressive once complete :)

Wow, whatever it is, I am just gonna joyously salivate anyway :D

I take it TESB is your favourite episode?

They sure do. In fact I remember watching TPM for the first time at the cinema (aged 9) and I momentarily confused Ric Olie with Palpatine, lol. But after the movie finished I finally realised that Palpatine was The Emperor from ROTJ :)

The thing is though that having the Emperor say "the son of Skywalker" twice is just repetition that isn't needed. The original dialogue pre-2004 worked perfectly and that is how i want to return it, even though i have to substitute "Luke Skywalker" with "young Skywalker"

I can understand wanted to go back to pre-2004 dialogue.  But Adywan, might I suggest a minor change?

VADER: What is thy bidding, my master?
RIC OLIE: There is a great disturbance in the Force.
VADER: I have felt it.
RIC OLIE: We have a new enemy -- George Lucas.
VADER: Yes, my master.
RIC OLIE: He will try to keep me out of Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.
VADER: He's just a hack. Spielberg can no longer help him.
RIC OLIE: The Force is strong with him. The son of Lucas must not become a filmmaker who answers to no one.
VADER: If he could be turned, he would become a powerful ally.
RIC OLIE: Yes. Yes. He would be a great asset. Perhaps we could even get him to insert me in Return of the Jedi. Can it be done?
VADER: He will join us or die, my master.

OMG! Ric you ruined the surprise twist in Revenge of the Sith: Revisited! Nooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh what the heck, everyone would probably guess that you were both a Sith Lord and the Chancellor....not to mention the best observer out of the whole freaking galaxy! :D

I always love looking at McQuarrie's work; such awesome concept designs and paintings. :)

Anyway for those of you who haven't seen the trailer for the new Family Guy Star Wars parody, Something Something Something Darkside. Here it is:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glIayvYl0lE

The quality is not perfect, but it is watchable and was the only one I could find on YouTube.

And try not to tell me that it's off-topic. It is....kind of....but we all know which episode it's related to ;)

Do we have an estimated delivery date more precise than “sometime in 2010”?  Are we talking early 2010, mid 2010, or late 2010?

Don't worry.  Once it's released, and you've watched it, I'll let you know that it's been released.

Ric Olie in May 2008 - 'And look at this torrent site; the DVD9 of Star Wars IV: Revisited is here' :)

*half an hour after that* 'And look over there, people are apparently seeding information'.

Yes but it's not the order that she's told. It's that after she seems to have no reaction to her true family. Maybe it was too much for one movie?

Ah yes, sorry, I actually focused a little bit on the 'WTF...your father?' part of your post. I do know what you're talking about :)

Yeah, Leia doesn't really say anything in the vain of 'Damnit, I should have known that bastard was my father!'

Lol :)

It's not a huge issue for me but it has made me wonder over the years if ROTJ, by compressing so many things into one film, really missed a chance to finish off the saga in a truly epic way. Too much of the film ties up things quickly and then moves on.

I know what you mean. I've read the Star Wars: Infinities comics and they make the OT have some real epic moments that weren't in the films at all, but at the end of the day those stories are nice but temprary deviations of the classic movies we love. In ROTJ Infinities both Leia and Luke duel with Vader and at the end they all have a kind of family reunion (with a reformed Vader - in white armour) and then plan to hunt down and destroy The Emperor :)

Oh well, I still love ROTJ, but I am aware that it needs a number of improvements - though unfortunately some are unfeasible. So all in all, not really a huge issue with the Luke and Leia scene.

Well I know Kyle Newman the director of Fanboys is a fan of Revisited and he sent a copy to Dave Filoni the guy in charge of the Clone Wars and apparently he watched it with a bunch of people over at Lucasfilm and they all loved it.

It's been over a year now - Lucas MUST have seen it :)

That sounds awesome, and I'm sure it's true too.

Speaking of that Leia/Luke scene:

Anyone else find it kind of odd that Leia doesn't seem to have much reaction to the fact that since Luke is her bro and Vader is his pa, that also makes Vader her father too?

In fact, she even says to Luke: "WTF?! Your father?!"

Yes Leia and YOUR father too.

Yes but remember her line ('Your father?!') was before Luke went on to tell her that she was his sister.

But yeah, I know what you mean...

But if that's the case, why was Vader apparently surprised when Obi vanished in "Star Wars"?

Because that's the first time he's personally seen it. Think about it. Who vanished before his eyes?

I vanished before his eyes.  Sure, he was 10, but I was with him in TPM, and then....where did I go?

I know...you've let us all down! :P

On Mustafar you could have been there saying:

'There's the hotshot young pilot I once mentored, choking the ex-queen of Naboo and look over there - volcanoes are erupting. And there's Obi-Wan Kenobi walking down a ramp and shouting.'

Oh God. Someone please fix that Falcon matte behind Han and Lando. Maybe add a dude into the painting behind the Falcon to blend the "Hey, I'm an actor walking in front of a bluescreen" look. Maybe have him working on that B-Wing cockpit in the background? I really dislike it when Lando starts walking toward it.

Yeah, I have to say that that matte is pretty sad.  Its really sad when you think that the only scene with the full-sized Falcon ended up on the cutting room floor, and the only times we see it are either model shots or paintings with no life or true dimension for them.  I do hope that Ady can get the models to redo these shots.

That matte really cheeses me off whenever I watch ROTJ - and I also hope all the work that needs to be done on it is feasible.

Here's a little something I whipped up yesterday. When I read posts a while back about showing scary holograms above C-3P0 during the 'flying chair' scene, I misread it as a discussion about the story telling scene.

lol

Anyway, it's still a cool video, even if it's not what was suggested. Enjoy...if you dare!

Hahahahaha, yes I remember that article. After I saw that I swore never to eat again near my PC's lovely screen.

As soon as I chuckled at the article itself, which explained that he was a badass pilot and had 'acute observations' I saw that image and the caption that went with it and spat out half my chocolate bar in a fit of major LOL :D
