The lives of our people are more important than France's money deals.

Sorry if I offend anyone, but could you guys answer me this:

* Why can a solider kill women and children in a foreign country with no problems (My Lai massacre), and when he comes back home, if he snaps and kill someone, he's sentenced to death?

* Why in america dosen't a vote count as a VOTE? Why one person is not equal as one vote?

* Why are there so many countries interested in reconstruting Iraq with their own money (Iraq's oil)? Why was Halliburton in charge of reconstructing Kwait after the gulf war?

* Why did the CIA support and financed military dictatorships in south america (including Brazil), that resulted in debts and in the killing of thousands of innocent people? Why did the CIA financed the Al Qaida when the soviets invaded Afeghanistan?

* Why does mr. Bush refuses to talk about his business conection with the Bin Laden family back in the 70s and 80s?

* What happened to Enron?

* Who profits from war?

I could go on and on...

Peace dudes, its the only way. We gotta educate our children to live in peace, not in a permanent war.

(edited: corrected the closing quote tag)

*Well, if a soldier kills women and children on purpose he should be executed--or any civilian for that matter. Accidents are regrettable but unfortunately unavoidable.

*I have no idea what you mean.

*We freed Iraq but we can't afford to rebuild the country. We can't hold their hands forever.

*I'm not aware of the US financing dictatorships and I don't agree with it. But you can't use someones mistake to justify not taking action. And the reason we helped Al Qaeda back in the 80s is because the Soviets were our enemies then. They were the bigger threat at that point in history.

* I'm unaware of what you are asserting. If it is true I'm sure he regrets it now.

* Well, it went bankrupt. That isn't a secret

*Who profits from the war? Everyone but the evil regimes that like terrorism.

Lasting peace will never come on this world. And we certainly can't achieve any peace through surrender. The problem with your thinking is that you seam to belive that peace by anymeans is the ultimate goal, but if you gain it by surrender, it is just that. Surrender.

Kill Bill on DVD

A more accurate question would be what *did* I like about it. Pretty much nothing. The whole movie was ruined for me by the time the Bride killed the Black Woman at the begginning.

Basically, lack of a decent plot, detestable protagonist, pointless swearing, overuse of blood, "I'm Buck and I'm here to %^$*"

Actually I didn't see the whole thing. Kill Bill is the first movie I actually got up and left the theater for. I went and played Time Crisis 2 while I waited on the movie to end. (since I have no driver's liscense) I found shooting terrorists much more enjoyable.

Edit: I saw most of the movie. I left after the Ferrari scene I think. It's hard for me to remember the order of the scenes since the thing is so discontinouitous.

He is supposed to represent us and now only 40% of Americans support his Iraq war efforts. He needs to get his story straight. He has changed his reasoning for going to war in Iraq so many times. I supported him wholeheartedly in Afghanistan because there were reasons to be there. But, so far, every reason he's presented for going to war in Iraq has fallen flat. Bin Laden? Nope. WMD? Nope. So now it's Iraqi freedom. What right do we have to overthrow a government? None. Just because we don't agree with it. So, by that rationale, any country that doesn't support or believe in democracy has the right to invade and try to overthrow our government (note the emphasis on "try" -- I don't seriously think anyone could actually do it).

I just want to know that we are fighting and dying for the right reasons.

We will never defeat terrorism. It just won't happen. All we are doing is breeding a new generation of terrorists. When people see their loved ones die around them, they become angered and want revenge just like Bush did when the WTC went down. Then those people vow vengeance and become terrorists themselves. Unless we're willing to wipe out the entire population of the Middle East, then it ain't gonna happen. And, even if we did wipe them out, human rights activists and closet supporters in terrorist cells in other countries are still available to make life hell for us. So, it's never gonna end. All we can do is shore up our homefront defenses. And how can we do that when all our military is in every other country but our own? Even our own National Guard is overseas.

Bossk. You are being a moral relativist. Just because someone belives that it is allright to rule by an oppressive despotic pseudo-theocracy doesn't make it allright.

And are you saying we don't have a moral obligation (screw "right") to free people from oppression? Have you closed your ears to the things Hussein has done? If that isn't reason enough to go to Iraq I don't know what is. And saying that because we found no weapons of mass destruction when we went that they never were there to begin with? That is like noticing something missing from your house and then assuming you never had one. It is more worrying that we didn't find WMDs in Iraq because if they were there then they may have been smuggled out of the country.

Ok. I'm done now.

Plot holes in the SW saga

Hhhmmmm..

I always figured he had the general story outlined from the begining and tweaked and changed things as he went along. Like Luke being Leia's brother. But I think that by ESB he had allready decided that Leia and Luke were siblings because Ben says "No. There is another." to Yoda.

But of course, that could have meant anyone; even Han

Last line of episode 3?
Time
After the scene of Ani's rebirth as Darth Vader he should come out and say something evil in James Earl Jone's and then it should cut to Obi-wan taking baby Luke to Owen and Beru, who just got married or something and he should tell them to raise Luke and say something about him being the Galaxy's only hope--to tie it in with Episode four. And then it cuts to the Imperial fleet with the Imperial March playing and then we see Vader and Palpatine together and they have a mercifully brief evil discussion and then it cuts to the credits.

Sorry about the two posts but the topics are completly different.
Why is it so strange that there could be humans on other planets? There are other humanesque races in Star Trek. And for all we know in Basic the word human could be something like queso or something.

I doubt if GL meant for Obi-wan to "speak in tongues" if you will, I think he only made it look that way as each movie came along in order to make it easier for him to cover up his previous mistakes. That's why that conversation with Luke was added in ROTJ; so people could make sense out of Obi-wan telling Luke that Vader killed his father in ANH.

So yes, they are plot holes--or were.

No they are not man...

Look...Put it this way...

Luke has just met Obi Wan...

Do you really think Obi wan is gonna blurt out what happened to Lukes father straight away...no he is not..

"Hello Luke...Oh by the way, your father was my best friend, but couldnt handle the way I was treating him, so he joined up with the Emporor and killed your mother and eevryone who cared for him..Then F****d off and ruled the Galaxy with his new master....Don't want to scare you or anything but it might happen to you too...Oh and heres his lightsabre"

No..........

See....George knows what he is doing!!!

Yeah. I think Lucas planned to have Vader be Luke's father all along, otherwise they would'nt have put so much emphasis on him in A New Hope. Lines like "the Force is strong with this one" make more sense in the context of Vader being Lukes father, since Vader is the second strongest in the Force ever. Also, Luke has met Ben Kenobi before A New Hope. Watch the scene again. Luke doesn't introduce himself.
