You have to compare the series like Godfather and Lethal Weapon, where the same person did all their movies, (Coppola and Donnor).
You're trying to set a meaningless standard for the analogy. Point is, CO, if a franchise had a film series that stopped, and then another film series or continuation comes years later, it will cause divisions in the fanbase. If the new is "good", then the old must be "bad" to many. It's like a fashion craze

CO, you've been talking about that sort of thing for a long time. You're like a veteran thinking he's still in Nam. That sort of extremist movement is a predictable phase in any franchise, man. It's died down for the most part.

Did you ever follow the Batman franchise? There was a phase where Nolan was THE man (some even professing him as God, in ways I'm not sure were meant to be humorous), and Burton was THE failure who was never "faithful to the comics."

Ask DocLathropBrown.

Anyway, I agree it's disgusting when old fans betray the classics, but like I said, it's a predictable phase of any large franchise.

On a scale of 1-10, how convincing was Hayden as Anakin/Darth Vader?

I dunno, even as a guy on fire who is slowly sliding into a molten river, he fails as Darth Vader. The Darth Vader I know would have used the force to force choke the piss out of Obi-Wan who he standing on the bank expressing his disappointment and undying love for Anakin while simultaniously watching his flesh burn off of his body.

Or loosened the gravel under Obi-Wan's feet, so he lost his footing. Or hurled lava over his own body towards Obi-Wan. Mustafar had too interesting of a terrain for my version of Vader not to exploit it.

That's why I think it would have been more acceptable to have Vader become immediately "unavailable" after being de-limbed. No romantic confessions, no exchange of words at all. As soon as he's defeated, Vader is somehow dragged away from the scene.

I've spent accumulated hours thinking of a scenario of how to do this. My favorite one I've come up with is Obi-Wan Force Pushing Vader (after he was de-limbed), off a giant narrow cliff. Obi-Wan pries Vader's lightsaber from the hand on the disembodied arm, he walks to the edge of the cliff, looks down far below, but doesn't see Vader. So he assumes Vader fell straight into the river and was destroyed.

Then we don't see Vader until ANH. We don't need to know exactly where he landed. All we need to know is that Obi-Wan defeated him, and he was horrifically injured further from the lava afterwards (a given because of the new suit, iron lung, and burn marks later revealed in ROTJ).

It would have been better for both Yoda and Obi-Wan to face off with Sidious together. Sidious obviously had a powerful advantage in his fight against Yoda because he was wielding the dark side. So it's not like the Jedi would be dishonorable to even the playing field with two-again-one (happened in The Phantom Menace when Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan faced off with Maul).

At least that way Sidious wouldn't be so inclined to mess around like an idiot during the duel (which in ROTS, he did, and it made it harder to take the consequences of the duel seriously). Lol.

Jabba the Hutt Strategy

Original Gangsta. XD

The vid is pretty good. From a logical stand-point, I guess they really didn't need Leia to be the actual rescuer. Lando had gained Jabba & Co.'s trust, knew the place from the inside out... it could have easily been left to him to rescue Han without needlessly risking others.

The thought behind the plan was a fail. Luke is a failed planner and needy of credits.

Ewoks are fail.

How could Vader not see Luke there???!!!

I think it was too vague (like Leia's memories) to draw any conclusions about her mother's overall personality. Beautiful, kind, sad. Pretty general stuff.

I always thought it was Bail Organa who likely passed on the firey, assertive, militant personality onto Leia.

And I agree. Padme as a role model? I'd much rather see a lot of Leia types running around in today's society.

I can see a woman falling in love with an evil tyrant who commits mass murder. He's powerful, and women love to bask in a cock's power.

The real failing is that women don't like men who bitch and complain. Anakin does it all the time. He can't even pull off a "boyish charm" type of playful bitching, because his bitching is real and sounds like it's coming from a toddler.

What Lucas quote are you referring to?

But that of course flies in the face of the fact that Anakin is an asshole in Episodes II and III and had no problem killing sand person kiddies in episode II. Of and unarmed females too.  tough guy that anakin.

That's my point, actually. He's killed women and children before, and the only difference after the turn is he's turned on the Jedi.
