The Rise of Skywalker: Ascendant (Released)

I’m fairly certain I should be able to get Mark’s voice on the 21st. Using about an hour of book readings (not just characters speaking) gives a fantastic result in all of my other cases.

I can create an account with a free trial and can try pumping out some more Leia or Luke lines if needed. PM me with any needed details.

Maybe we could clean this up a little with Mark Hamill’s voice.

Luke Skywalker:
“It was the last night of her training. Leia sensed that she could do more good following another path. She surrendered her saber to me and said that one day, it would be picked up again by a Jedi who would finish her journey. A thousand generations live in you now. We’ll always be with you, but this is your fight.”

Since this was cut from Poe after the civilian fleet arrives on Exegol:
“Target those underbelly cannons, every one we knock out is a world saved!”

Maybe we can add some comms effect to the voice and have Poe say something like this that helps lead the other fighters’ chant:
“Let’s make their sacrifice worth it, give 'em everything we’ve got, for Skywalker!”

or just do:
“Lando, you crazy son-of-a-bitch!” 😄

This AI voicework is going to help with a ton of stuff!

EDIT: Changed “Let’s make his…” to “Let’s make their…” to include Leia and Han, suggestively. The OT crew.

You’re probably right. At this point, I’ve sort of accepted Ady keeping the teddy bear dance music. I can always just pause the edit after the funeral scene ends.

I had some time after work, so I decided to do one more pass. Hopefully Ady sees the potential! 😃

Therapy
Time

I’ve struggled with therapy. I have been on anti-depressants for a few years which has greatly helped several aspects of my life. However, I think talking through things in a confidential manner with a therapist either virtually or in-person would help even more. I just haven’t been able to find the right resource to use to help me find the right person for the job.

That one starts out pretty amazing (I’m glad you aren’t saving the main theme needledrop for Rise of Crapwalker), but I’m not so sure about the force ghost moment onwards. It feels a bit weird going from a triumphant rendition of the main theme, straight to another triumphant rendition of the theme in the typical credits music.

That was my issue, I couldn’t get a good enough transition from the Luke & Leia theme to the end credits. At this rate, I think we are stuck with Yub Nub! I don’t want to derail Ady’s thread any longer unless he is open to switching out Yub Nub for something else. If he is open to it, I’d be happy to mix together another audio track or help him make a decision in what he will end up using.

Quoting from the other thread:

In all seriousness, I think what’s missing from the Yub Nub ending is a bit more of the underlying instrumentality that appears near the end of the scene.

100% agree. I’m not a fan of Victory Celebration, but I think the orchestrations give it that slight edge over Yub Nub, even if it is a ripoff. If some orchestra can be added to Yub Nub a little earlier in the track, I think it would be a happy medium. Up to Ady though! It’s his edit after all 😃

I was just playing with the End Credits track from the ROTJ soundtrack and threw this together. I think it could work as a replacement for Yub Nub. Obviously needs some cleanup and polish though. Definitely feels more StarWars-y than either official version in my opinion. Maybe Ady will consider an alternate audio track for the Yub Nub naysayers 😂

Per the WordPress site,
“Remove Yub Nub & Victory Celebration”

That must have been written waaaay back, during the briefest of times i was thinking of ending it on the funeral pyre. The ending is going to be pretty much the theatrical ending. NO planets, no Hayden, no Victory Celebration. I hate the SE planet celebrations and victory celebration music. Victory celebration sounds so out of place musically. Williams just basically ripped off the original animatic guide track ( and didn’t even bother to try and hide the fact) and it sounds so out of place in the OT. The guide track was for a Native American mini series and you can tell it still has that theme.

Any chance on ending on something other than Yub Nub? Another Williams track perhaps? One thing I hope will be fixed with the planet celebrations being removed is the jump cut that has been present since '83 where the planets were inserted, sure you’re on top of that already!

The Force Awakens: Starlight (V1.1 Released!)
Time

Following the 4-9-8 27 Rule:

EPISODE VII
THE FORCE AWAKENS

The galaxy is in crisis.
Luke Skywalker, striving
to restore the legendary
Jedi Order, has vanished.

Emboldened by his absence,
the sinister FIRST ORDER,
an extremist remnant of the
fallen Empire, has risen
from a mysterious base
to proclaim that anyone
who seeks to restore the
ancient ways of the Jedi
shall be destroyed.

Acting against this threat,
the New Republic Senate has
secretly organized a covert
RESISTANCE, and have sent
their most daring pilot to
Jakku, to find any clue of
Luke’s whereabouts amongst
the darkening stars…

I think paragraph 3 helps to make this line by Hix hit a little harder:
“At this very moment, in a system far from here the New Republic lies to the galaxy while secretly supporting the treachery of the loathsome Resistance.”
