STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time

So what's the deal with the last one?

"I still blame his dad for the death of my mum - execute both of them!!"

TBH these kind of changes scream of a touch of "Lucas" to be honest, toning down or over-explaining elements of the trilogy. Surely the idea should be that that Vader only really starts to turn after he has met his son? 20+ years have passed since Padme's death. Vader is supposedly feared throughout the galaxy. Making him 'human' and showing remorse for his actions too early takes away from his reaction at the end of Jedi.

Just my 2p worth.

You mean like he's watching some old home movies?

"This is me getting married"

It's nice to see another Toppy user!

ReverendBeastly, I'll do my best to do a back-up recording as well, but I need to clear some serious space on my PVR Drive first!!

Good vibes to Laserman. Get well soon.

Same here, saw the envelope on the step yesterday evening, and it took me a second to work out what it could be.

Hope Laserman is doing ok - would do it again in a heartbeat.

Info Wanted: Indiana Jones documentaries?

Originally posted by: ComradeJonns...so every small 40 minute documentary took a whole 4 gigabytes of a DVD+R disc, which is insane. Does anyone know if they're still online, and ideally in a normal-sized version (all three as one DVD or even better as DIVX or XVID encoded videos) ?

The 'preservation' part of these forums means that more often than not the creators of these discs (In the case of Indy, DFNYC) don't compress the hell out of the footage - none of the source files are pin sharp, so you would probably notice the difference.

Don't get me wrong, living in the Uk with a throttle P2P connection means these discs can take a long time to download, but I feel it is worth it to add such a good copy to our 'archive'.

DF, so you forked out for one of the new HD players eh? That must have cost you a pretty penny. Which did you get? HD-DVD or Blue Ray? You worried one might go the way of Betamax? I'd love to be there with you, but until Star Wars is out on HD I won't be getting one anytime soon. The Fifth Element though makes me salvinate a bit though since I've heard that will be one of the first movies put out on HD.

Being a lurker over at DVDTalk, I can tell you he bought an HD DVD Player, although it would be very tricky of him to pick up a Blu-Ray (no 'e') player, as they've been delayed until August / September.

Back on Topic, I gave a copy of this and deleted magic to a mate of mine who absolutely loved it - one of his mates overheard us and I've promised him copies as well!

Excellent Job Jambe!

Editing with After Effects?

Ditto - my work computer isn't doesn't have an internet connection, and there's no way I'm going to fork out £80 for a bicer GUI which I would switch off anyway. Win2K all the way baby!

Zion,

I also use After Effects for all my menus, hence I'm more comfortable with that.

Thanks for the feedback guys - no doubt things will change by the time I get around to doing anything!

Editing with After Effects?
Time
Being PC based, I don't have access to Final Cut Pro, which seems to be the edit tool of choice for our Mac people.

What are people's throughts on editing films (HuffyAVIs) in After Effects - after all, it offers you plenty of image manipulation options if you are really trying to alter a film. Obviously the rendering times would be rather large, but I certainly find it more user friendly than Premiere.

Or cany anyone suggest any other PC (win2K) editing programs.

Cheers!

I'm not sure if I can say where I found it as I haven't read the rules (which I'm sure clearly explain what I can and can't do if I would just take the time to read them since I know exactly where they are located,) or even give a link to it, but it is a torrent. If anyone wants it you can do a google search for it. That's how I found it. I'm already past a 1:1 ratio, but as long as it's uploading at a good 30kbs+/- clip I will keep it going for as long as I can. It is a DVD version with Japanese menus and English subtitles. The quality is pretty good from what I can tell by watching it on the computer. I just learned about this thing like a week ago. I was surprised to see it had some of the original characters.

Sorry to go OT at the OT, but I was wondering if anyone would be able to jump on and help seed this thing? In the past hour about 3 less-than-charitable people have finished and done a runner

Many Thanks

X-Men: the animated series (1992-1997) (Released)
Time
Stedwick,

The main purpose of this topic is in the creation of a more 'definitive' transfer of the series to DVD, not just getting hold of the episodes in a small, easy to download, format. Hence Byakko's pursuit of IVTC info.

Byakko - I'm still planning my attempt at the DVD menus, currently trying to find some suitable comic-book imagery. I thought about maybe using images from the Age of Apocalypse series, as this seemed to be in keeping, but I'm not sure and I'm keeping my eyes peeled for that piece of inspiration as it were, while trying to clear the decks of other jobs...
