I'm sold. I love that new intro too. I also like the idea of adding in the "hey wait" as they are walking away together.
The editing was also excellent considering it was rough. I think the only bits that stood out were the light saber adjustment and the kids were a little loud in the beginning.

I would assume Ady will be making shaw the old anakin ghost again.
But if Hayden were to be left in there I thought of an idea to make it work better.
Perhaps at some reflective point in ROTJ Luke could somehow be shown viewing an old photo of his father when he was young. During the time span in ROTJ Luke is heavily thinking about his father and turning him back. It wouldn't be that out there to see him checking out an old image like that as it might be part of his way of coming to terms with his family history.
Then when he sees the ghost at the end it would be a better tie-in.

So yeah, as I said I just made that quick from a clip of the movie on youtube that just has the regular dialogue. I have the dvds of course but I don't have any way to directly pull the audio onto my pc...which is why I did it like that as a test and to see if you guys like it.
I just need a wav of that scene or a nice quality mp3 and I'll remake it and post it in case anyone wants to use it in their edit. or feel free to use the one I posted if you can get it blend nicely.
Personally I would like the change. Even though the original dialogue can be chalked up to Obi-wan bending the truth for Luke's sake...he already does that SO much. Also, by having Obi-wan say "I wanted you to have this" it not only fixes a slight PT issue but I feel like it makes him a little more responsible toward Luke. It shows even more that he's already been thinking about training Luke in the Jedi ways.

The timing hasn't' been changed so it should be okay. Plus, miraculously Obi-Wan is turned around at that exact moment so this should fit.
Looks awesome. Funny thing is, I don't think I minded the new textured ground from the SE before. But now after seing your version, which I think is the OT version, I must say I like it better this way.
Because the ground is more simple and smooth the eye is drawn to where the focus should be, on the ship and the characters heading into the spaceport.

I've also been thinking about where to put that scene (cuz it's the best of the deleted Biggs stuff) but all I could think of was after the dinner as well just as a separate scene.
But to blend the scene and perhaps change up the background...now that is genius and innovative.
I'd love to see a rough cut of that idea if any of you guys could manage it. Unfortunately I can't even keep photoshop open anymore w/o crashing my computer.
Jae will you be keeping the order of that scene in ANH where Luke speaks with Obi-wan or switching it back around to how it is in the original?
Also, will you just be scrapping that Jabba scene or perhaps trying to work some magic with it?
I've always wondered if that scene could be improved by changing the location/background and some of the background characters. Perhaps altering the dialogue so it's not as repetitive as in the Greedo scene would also help. I realize though it would likely be easier to just scrap it.
I know in the past I've done quick mock-ups of what I'm suggesting. I'll see if I can dig them up.

If so that is fantastic. Your work and clips are what I always check for in this thread. Speaking of which, the last clip was excellent. The scaling is perfect now. Though the planet is realistically larger than the DS you cropped it in a manner that the scale and threat of the DS remains strong in the frame.
I'm watching at work so I don't know if you also have Ady's Empire theme music in there.

The ideas and additions/modifications you guys have made to that scene have all been pretty awesome.
One of my favorite fan vids are those scenes of Tarkin watching the new hologram. I'd love to see that incorporated into someones edit one day.

wow, I just noticed a minor thing which I'm sure has likely already brought up. When Luke is in the bacta tank a droid attaches something to the glass, there's a fast cutaway but when we see it again its no longer attached to the glass.
Not a big deal either way though. Just spotted it while re-watching Ady's ESBR preview. Plus I know this section of the film is pretty much complete except for the new wampa.
It's also possible the droid arm quickly retracts during the cutaway.

Probably...I haven't started on that scene yet, other than putting in R2's subtitle at the very beginning.
