It's cool guys. If I spent 6 hours laboring over the image I might catch feelings, but it only took me about 10 minutes. As I mentioned it was just a "quickie".
I don't think it's too bad all things considered, which is why any comment outside of just general discussion seems uncalled for. Also as I mentioned I though people were pretty friendly on this board overall which is a major reason I like coming here.

Here's a quickie sample..........but I may revise it as I'm wondering what it might look like if it strayed farther from the original design.
Putting aside the talk of other DS's potentially appearing (which is actually a cool idea) I wanted to bring up one issue that may already have been talked about.
There's no real reason the (main) DS in Return of the Jedi would even need to look like it's always looked.
Sure the standard half-finished look is iconic....but why can't it be something different and a bit more creative? It can still be something spherical but perhaps something more dark that looks hastily put together? Maybe something like this borg sphere. Anything like this would go a long way to helping distinguishing ROTJ from being a complete retread.

My Mac G4 is so old, the clip won't play smoothly for me. Can't even export it to a more comparable format / bitrate. Wish I could understand all these issues you're all discussing.
^^ yeah I go through the same thing with my ancient PC too sometimes. (even with vlc player) Mostly I just wait for stuff to hit youtube or play clips from my work computer.
I tried with the latest clip....even playing choppy I can tell it's an awesome new shot.

Speaking of little changes....a while back I suggested maybe when Vader uses the force & starts throwing things at Luke during their fight perhaps the objects could spark a bit as though they are being torn from their place...(something like when Vader goes nuts at the end of ROTS) might you be doing something like that?

whoaa....that is very cool news about SW finally hitting Bluray. Jeez, it took them a while to officially announce that anywhere. All other news on the subject was always pretty vague. Good to hear about the extras we'll have to look forward to as well.
I'm actually anticipating AdY's rlease even more though...and in all seriousness I do hope someone at LFL takes notes from Ady's projects and implements some further changes this time for the better.
