I doubt this would be possible or worth it, but Jae's recent pic with the rock removed from Luke's landspeeder reminded me of how lifeless that little ship looks.

I've always thought it needed some subtle blinking lights or some smoke coming out from somewhere.

In TPM I think we see these spinning fans on the back of pods....maybe something like that?

Hard to see really......but here's a quickie mockup.....just something to show the thing is functioning.

LoL - I never noticed the socks and I'm sorry I read that b/c now I might always see them. : P

Anyway - I am 100% for the hologram in that Tarkin scene. Nice job on both! I don't know about the old school style radio sounds but aside from that brilliant work fellas.

I prefer the hologram turning on and off with a more subtle sound or no sound at all as in Jaitea's vid. However I like that avatar got rid of Vader's hand gesture.

Damn - I really wish you guys were working for ILM. So much of the work done here even in small examples highlights the lack of care and attention to details the "pros" who worked on the SE had.

George went from making the Emperor spooky but wise in ESB, a twisted evil old git in ROTJ to an insane berk in a witch mask in ROTS.

Palpatine the man was rather well handled until the mask went on then everything went out the window.

Both Yoda and The Emperor need their dignity restored.

Yeah, we needs too find a way to make the Halloween Mask Palpy more like the RotJ Palps....

I love Ian McDiarmid and he was probably one of the few good actors in the prequels (IMO) but after that halloween mask was put on, I lost all hope for our good friend Palpatine.... What was with all the laughing and the infamous "POWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRR, unlimited POWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEERRRRRRRR!!!!" line, that just was terrible to watch..... Ian did a terrific job playing the Chancellor earlier, and then we got Palpatine after a few shots of whisky.....

If you just cut out most of his laughing and over the top dialogue, you'd get a Palpatine thats closer to the RotJ one

LoL ^^ I couldnt agree more. For me at the very end of RoTS when Papatine is looking at Vader finally fully suited up....that's when he's at his best and most subdued. He even looks much more like the ROTJ Palpatine. That scene plays brilliantly as though it could almost fit in ROTJ.....minus the "nooooooooooo" part which literally sucked all the credibility out. Aside from that last second hiccup Ian's performance there was spot on.

But as it's been mentioned his work also w/o the mask was pretty much fine as well. He just went waaaaaaaaaay overboard though with the Palpatine overacting. He became a friggin' cartoon. I actually felt awkward watching his scene with Mace in the theater.

Speaking of the "nooooooooo" iMo the easiest way to get rid is to just add in the french audio which is just a scream. OR perhpas JEJ has screamed in some other film he's been in and that can be tweaked and added in.

Star Wars Episode II: The Galaxy Divided (The Brash Cut) - CANCELLED
Time

While I suppose it makes sense for all the Jedi to have different color sabers....realistically it looks downright goofy seeing so many of them onscreen at once.

I really like the idea of making them all blue or slightly different shades of blue. Visually that way looks less like a bunch of kids swinging around nerf swords.

Imagine a bloody WW2 battle with soldiers annihilating each other with a different color machine guns.

LoL...yeah I agree. It's like one the DS decorators just had a thing for huge red panels and stripes.

Again.........the revised version there is way better (at least imo) with just a simple desaturation. And something like that I'm guessing would be easier to do in an edit than changing the backgrounds since that room appears in many scenes from different angles.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

Maybe the issue with the hologram is that fundamentally it just makes Vader look like a cool little action figure, especially considering the pov. For a bad ass dark lord of the Sith to appear like that onscreen (vs Palpatine's huge hologram which appears later) is almost demeaning, lol.

Jaite's 3rd version with Vader appearing flat on the screen probably makes the most sense although it may not be as interesting as a hologram.

I'm sure if Ady is just refining the hologram though that will be a cool enough improvement...it's a very fast shot anyway.

I really dig the changes and mock-ups. Luke and Obi Wan overlooking Mos Eisley looks like it was shot in 2010.

The new C3Po desert pics also look fantastic, especially the pic of him walking away with the new backdrop.

The only thing I would suggest with the Luke training image is to maybe somehow make him more the main focus of the shot. But the new background there is also very cool.

Angel sorry if I missed it but have you ever done anything regarding the scenes with this background?

I can't believe it.........but I like the floating chairs. LoL

Excellent work. The only suggestion I have in this case is to fix it so that Vader doesn't gesture with his hand after the dialogue is through. (like AdY did)

I LOVE the idea of turning that general delivering the news into a hologram as well.....so simple yet brilliant. It modernizes the OT a bit, adds a cool unobtrusive element and even maintains the original actor.

vaderios & Jaite.......excellent work. Seeing the pics come to life was very interesting. Jaite you are clearly very talented and should definitely think about putting out an edit. Bravo!

If I had any criticism at all it would be to maybe leave a hint more of blue to the backgrounds. Also anything that is in color such as hair & flesh-tones, sabers, the droids etc....shouldn't really be desaturated too much. But I think you've pretty much got a handle on that part as well.

Ady's new clip = awesome. The new color corrections look amazing.

I also love the vid from yoda1138 of the collapsing AT-AT with the simple electricity effect as if it's shield has gone down. Very nice. it goes a long way in helping to suggest that the AT-AT has been compromised and is now completely vulnerable.....which also leads to the following single shot to it's neck area when it explodes making a lot more sense.

I'm not sure if AdY was planning on something like this but I dig the idea.

I was just speaking about the idea of somehow seeing Vader learn of Luke in AnH. Alas that is pretty much a fan fantasy which ILM will never actually put together as an extra scene for AnH.

One potential (much easier) idea I had to substitute for such an idea is to modify the scene in the DS trench run when Vader says "the Force is strong in this one". Perhaps more can be made to really highlight that scene? Maybe a dramatic pause in the dialogue..."The force......is....strong in this one" or maybe even some new subtle dialogue addition? Perhaps just linger a bit longer on Vader as if he's feeling a tremor in the force or something unusual as we cut back to Luke's ship in flight.

Maybe even directly link that up as a distraction which allows Han to get the drop on him?

Unfortunately there's no way I could put this together on my crappy PC...but maybe someone else could as a test?

Anyway just an idea.

Info & Ideas: ESB and ROTJ Wishlist

^^ Yeah he probably would have felt it. In that case Vader could just be seen reporting directly back to the Emperor (which he probably would have done in such an extreme scenario) who could allude to the fact that "he is already aware of the setback".

I always pictured such a scene as ending with Vader leaving Palpatine at some point and then hearing that the person who destroyed the DS was Luke Skywalker. Thus we'd get to see that pivotal moment onscreen leading to the events of ESB where he already knows of Luke. As it stands we are left to assume that between movies but it plays so nonchalantly that it seems a bit off in hindsight.

But realistically I don't know how well that would all jive with the Emperor/Vader scene in ESB. How could Vader get such important news so early but Palpatine apparently learns much later on?

^^ That is a cool idea if it could be fit into the story and pulled off realistically. There are too many 2 against 1 duels in the PT.

A radical idea I had for the TPM which would shorten the run time considerably would be to just begin the film at the point where the Queen escapes Naboo with the Jedi on her damaged starship, and everyone is forced to land on Tattooine.

I feel like this might mirror ANH more by just throwing the viewer right into the thick of things. The opening text could be changed to still give some back-story but also might include a summary of some of the material cut out.

Turmoil has engulfed the GALACTIC REPUBLIC.

The greedy TRADE FEDERATION, has blockaded the

peaceful world of Naboo with battle ships seeking to place

the helpless planet under their direct control.

Two JEDI KNIGHTS striking a valiant blow to the

Federation Army rescued Queen Padme Amidala of Naboo.

Now aboard her damaged cruiser Padme’ and her new allies are

attempting to escape the Federation clutches and restore

peace to the galaxy…

The opening scenes in TPM have some good parts here and there but by completely cutting them all out maybe some of the better parts could be used later in the movie somehow? Also all of the heavy Jar Jar stuff would instantly go away.

Not sure if this would work, but just figured I'd throw it out there for discussion.
