The problem with Nintendo is that they seem to believe that they are incapable of doing any wrong. They've butted heads with both Sony and Square in the past and have gotten nothing but heartaches. The only real problem with Nintendo is the men in charge; the same CEO who made these stupid decisions should be retired by now.

Expanded Universe Novel Discussion.

I've have to say I have a tossup between the Han Solo trilogy (the new ones, not the Classics...although those are very entertaining), the Young Jedi Knights (after Heir, these were the first I read), and the X-Wing books. I loved the X-Wings books so much my old screenname was Rogue925. Rogue 9-Corran, 25- my first bball jersey number. In fact, I've half salvaged the Rogue part in my current screenname/email: TtnsRogue.

Overall...probably the X-Wing books are my favorites.

Unless there is an official weighin, I think I know what might have the thickburger beat....THE GILBERT BURGER.

A Burger King sandwich exclusive to Green Bay back near the end of the 90's, the sucker had maybe 4 patties, lots of bacon, lots of cheese, etc, all on a sesame seed bun. The thing cost like 7 bucks.

If anyone knows who Gilbert Brown of the Packers was, then you know any burger in his name is massive.

Forget the plot, we want action!

The problem with the Force in movies is that they can't compare to novels. In novels, you can have a thousand Jedi flying through the air with the greatest of ease. In movies, people would be like "Enough of this Flying Tiger crap" and walk out. In a novel, a Jedi can make a thousand little things happen. In movies, we get a nod or a wiggling finger.

I agree, the Radio Dramas are infinitely better than the films...but such is the power of audio.

Yeah, the books helped flesh out the story. I also started to really dislike Episode 2 when it first came out, but then I read the book and other sources, and I've noticed the richness of the story...and also notice just how poorly Lucas managed to direct the movie and bring out that story.

Video Games - a general discussion thread
Time
Metroid Prime was the game that made me decide to buy a Gamecube...and sadly, I haven't gotten anywhere in it. Too many good games, too little time. I did beat Metroid Fusion though, and enjoyed that alot. Currently on the GBA front (love my NES themed GBA-SP), I'm at Dracula in Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, but since i'm a Fighter and can't use magic, getting my butt handed to me regularly.

I'm not really sure what my favorite game of all time is, but I do have favorites in each genre...

For RPG, I'd have to pick Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Fun game, fun theme, it's Mario, you can't go wrong. Runner up, Secret of Mana 3 (yeah, it was only a Japanese game, but I got ports and roms)

For FPS, It's a toss up between Goldeneye and Half-Life, at least for single player. Multiplayer, Goldeneye or Unreal Tournament.

For RTS, Starcraft hands down. Love that game, desperately want a sequel.

For Sports, either Tony Hawk 2 or ESPN NFL 2k5. Haven't played a decent Madden game since '99...

Favorite Star Wars game is also tough. I've beaten and enjoyed Jedi Outcast, Jedi Power Battles (on Dreamcast), and have gotten as far as I could (before bugs and generally just being stuck) in X-Wing, X-Wing Alliance, and Tie-Fighter.

Let's see...currently i'm playing or haven't finished Metroid Prime, Resident Evil (remake), Resident Evil Zero, Super Smash Bros. Melee (I just want the stupid sound test unlocked!!!), Zelda-Ocarina of Time (on GCube, beaten it many times before), GTA3, GTA Vice City, ESPN NFL 2k5 (season), Ninja Gaiden (please, let me get past Level 5...), Dungeon Siege, Red Faction, Skies of Arcadia: Legends (awesome game, both on Dreamcast and Cube), Splinter Cell, Super Star Wars (rom, hard game w/o SNES controller), Unreal Gold, Elite Force 2...and i'm sure there are many others. Little bit here, little bit there...

Episode III Teaser Trailer
Time
I don't remember Dooku being in the teaser...where did that pic come from? Not that I'm complaining, but I'm curious.

Yeah, I can see Barry Allen as being Vader. That just means Wally West, his SUPERIOR, is Luke. (Sorry, I'm not a fan of Pre-Crisis continuity...and Hal Jordan sucks)

For AotC, I remember seeing the trailer on the net and then in theatres during spring break, so figure late March/mid-April. Hopefully RotS will be the same timeframe.

And yeah, The Insider has been going downhill...plus they screwed me over and still owe me money that I'll probably never see.
