Forum software update
Time

I just wanted to say again, thank you to Jay for the site update, the separation of forums is great! and I love deleting multiple PMs :p

Also thank you Moth for organizing the new forums....going thru and organizing over 2000 threads is no piece of cake and is definitely time consuming, Im sure everyone here appreciate both of your guys hard work

Thanks again guys!

Hey Jay,

I see youre hard at work and I saw the new categories, which is awesome....just wanted to give my 2cents on how it could be split up

Star Wars Fan Projects - Fan edits for Star Wars
Other Star Wars Projects and Preservations - Basically all the Star Tours and Deleted Magic and stuff here along with PURE preservations of Star Wars
Other Fan Projects - Just other movies that are edits, say like ADM's Blade Runner
Other Preservations - All other movie preservations, no edits, just pure preservations

Is something like that what you were going for?

Puggo GRANDE - 16mm restoration (Released)
Time

Hey Puggo, grabbed a copy and had a look.....lots of time and effort was put into it I can see that and I thought the end product was great

Its too bad about the other print having hard subs since it appeared it would have better video quality after color correction, clearly the american copy got more play times than the other version

Still great work, hopefully someone can get you a 70mm print to work with :p

I'd like to take this moment...to cry
Time

When I had one of my seagate drives die in the 3 year warranty period, they offered me 2 things, one a replacement upgrade, which I did, and 2 a data transfer to the new drive (which they said would be 100 bucks, this was about 2 years ago), which I didnt do....I was able to salvage 95% of the contents by throwing the HD in the freezer for a few hours and then booting it one last time and using total commander to rip all the stuff off....but some of the disc was damaged so I couldnt get that other 5%, wasnt important anyway

FEDS (1988) Preservation (project cancelled due to official DVD release)
Time

Alright, been a long time since I updated....been doing other stuff, got sidetracked...and ran into some problems

DVD5 is done....it comes in at 4.36GBs (4470MBs), which leaves about 10MBs of free space. I didnt want to encode it again on the chance that I MIGHT get those MBs and I doubt it would make a difference anyway...DVD will include enhanced working menu with scene selection, english subtitles (thanks to Doctor M, they are not word for word because sometimes they go so fast but enough is there to get the point across and they are sync'd decently enough), and cover art provided by edskizzorhands.

Video
1.78 Anamorphic
CCE 6 pass 7025kbps (video tops out over 9800kbps and DVD at over 10000kbps, but no problems during muxing)
Proper crop and IVTC

Audio
English 2.0 @ 384kbps

Criterion Collection Email
Time

Just wanted to point this out beforehand

Just because its Criterion, doesnt mean its quality....Criterion has put out plenty of DVDs that have been subpar when compared to other versions available. Another note is that not every Criterion release is Anamorphic (Robocop)

Also if we take GL at his word (which we all know is BS) there are no prints of the original trilogy available anymore, as they were "all" used to make the SEs....but would be interesting to see how far he would be willing to go to keep this lie alive
