Clone Wars Animated DVDs
Time
I've never seen an episode of Clone Wars, and I'm not sure if I want to.

I mean, the whole concept of the series kind of takes what we were expecting out of the prequels and throws it in our face. What was the one of THE things were looking forward to seeing in this new trilogy? The mysterious Clone Wars of course. But wait, what's this? In-between movies? We get a cartoon show instead? With Sith Witches? What is this, The Matrix?

The Curse of the Blue Lightsaber
Time
It has come to my attention though much nerdy discussion that when one wields a blue lightsaber blade he is doomed to failure. Only a green blade will get the job done, and even that doesn't guarantee you'll walk away without a scratch.

TPM: Maul (red) kills Qui-Gon (green) and defeats Obi-Wan (blue), but Obi-Wan kill's Maul with Qui-Gon's saber.
AotC: Dooku (red) defeats Obi-Wan (blue), but Anakin (green) hold his own until Dooku chops it away leaving him only with Obi-Wan's and quickly defeated. Yoda (green) fights Dooku to a draw.
ANH: Vader (red) kills Obi-Wan (blue).
ESB: Vader (red) defeats Luke (blue).
RotJ: Luke (green) defeats Vader (red). It is only when Lukes tosses away his blade that he is harmed by Palpatine.

I'm sure RotS will shatter all this (throwing Mace's purple saber into the mix, and we all know how Obi-Wan and Anakin's the blue vs. blue duel turns out), but it's an interesting point nonetheless.

Yeah, I can see them now:

"The Death of Dooku"
"Mace Windu's Noble End"
"Palpatine Revealed as Sidious!"
"Palpatine Becomes Emperor"
"The Birth of Luke and Leia"
"The Twins Are Seperated"

And the list goes on...

I (and most of the people I've shown TCW to) found Dooku's character change from a lying, manipulative, Sidious subsidiary to a rogue Jedi who has learned the terrible truth of what's really going on in the galaxy and is doing what he thinks is best to correct it, a superior take on the character. Not to mention it eliminates the rather questionable actions on Dooku's part if he was in fact a Sith, such as his conversation with Obi-Wan and his confusion over the Republic Army with the Geonosians. As cool as the ending scene is with Sidious and Tyranus, the plot is far better without it.

It's called Star Wars Infinities, and the story begins at the end of A New Hope, with Luke missing the exhaust port of the Death Star!!!

There's a similar story for The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

Anybody have read those? Are they any good?

I have all 3 Infinities. ANH is by far the best, telling a complete and engaging story. While interesting, ESB and RotJ are nothing more than entertaining 'what-ifs?'.

That's a good idea with Mace's saber. My views on the purple are as follows:

-Dooku should have had the violet blade, not Mace.
-You mentioned royalty, he is a Count.
-This would balance out the colors for each side of the Force. Lightside: Blue and Green, Darkside: Red and Purple.
-He's an ambiguous character who is between light (blue) and dark (red), a mix if you will, purple.

Is General Grievous really Maul??

I think he should be Maul, but doubt he will be. Just one of many more lost opportunities by Lucas as a writer. Consider this as an easy "what could have been":

Qui-Gon's saber being blue, Obi-Wan's being green. When Obi-Wan's is lost during the Maul duel and he takes Qui-Gon's, he then wears it for the rest of his days as his own. This also would explain why Luke's own saber, which he built from parts in Obi-Wan's hut as an unfilmed (but written and included in comics and in the novel) scene in ROTJ, ended up being green, and not blue.

I felt the same way until AotC came out and showed us that losing a lightsaber is a common occurance for the Jedi. With all the talk of "This weapon is your life," Obi-Wan and Anakin still lose three sabers each in the PT. So since Obi-Wan would most likely wind up losing Qui-Gon's at some point (if he used it himself), better to hold on to it as a momento.

Your RotS Wish List

This has been brought up before. I'd always envisioned Vader destroying Naboo because of Padme's death, or causing it due to her abandoning him after his turn to the darkside. With Naboo now in RotJ, this won't be happening, but it would have been a great pay-off to that 25 year old line.

Your RotS Wish List

Well, it wouldn't be a "happy ending" at all.

He relays the technique of retaining one's identity after death to Obi-Wan and Yoda, reflects on the mistake he made with Anakin, and then fades into the Force forever. Very bittersweet if you ask me.

As for Tarkin, I see where you're coming from (and I agree with characters such as Mon Mothma), but Tarkin is the #2 guy in the Empire in ANH. That warrants some sort of backstory in RotS.

Your RotS Wish List
Time
When we first heard GL was making the prequels, of course we were excited about an entirely new trilogy, but the film we were really interested in was Episode 3. That was where it all was at. So, with RotS a mere six months away, what's on your wish list for the final chapter in the Star Wars saga? I'll start.

-Anakin and Obi-Wan duel: it simply couldn't happen any other way, and a volcanic environment is a must. This has been floating around in Star Wars lore since ANH came out, and is quite possibly THE most anticipated event of the prequels. I'd prefer a blue vs. blue lightsaber fight, just to mix things up. Thankfully we're getting all of this!!!
-Episode 3 be titled Revenge of the Sith. Revenge of the Jedi>Return of the Jedi>Revenge of the Sith. Perfect. FAR superior to The Creeping Fear and Rise of the Empire. We got this too!
-Qui-Gon reappear in some capacity. Jinn's my favorite Jedi, and Neeson rules. If the disappearing trick is finally going to be explained, Lucas has said Qui-Gon plays a crucial role, so one would expect him to come back as a voice (again) or even a ghost. With Anakin's downfall, his perspective on things would be very interesting. I haven't heard anything on this yet, but I'm really holding out for this one.
-"Do not underestimate the powers of the Emperor..." Always wanted a Yoda/Palpatine confrontation of some kind, and we're certainly getting it!
-Tarkin plays a part in the rise of the Empire, with his authority over Vader touched upon as well. This character MUST have some sort of introduction, as he's in charge of the Death Star AND Vader in ANH. I've heard Tarkin's at least IN the movie; here's to hoping he's set-up well for ANH.

The mention of that now-infamous track on TPM's soundtrack in the "Qui-Gon's Death" thread got me curious; What other track titles ridiculously gave away key plot points? So I pulled out my soundtracks and compiled this list:

33. Anakin Defeats Sebulba
34. Hail to the Winner, Anakin Skywalker
DISC 2
27. The Death of Qui-Gon and the Surrender of the Gungans
28. The Tide Turns - The Death of Darth Maul
30. The Funeral of Qui-Gon

AotC
(None yet, but if they ever release an Ultimate Edition Soundtrack I'm sure there'll be plenty.)

ANH
DISC 1
9. Burning Homestead
DISC 2
9. Ben Kenobi's Death / Tie Fighter Attack

ESB
DISC 2
7. Betrayal At Bespin

ROTJ
DISC1

8. The Emperor Arrives / The Death Of Yoda / Obi-Wan's Revelation

Wanted: Star Wars Costumes
Time

I know it’s weird being the day after Halloween, but I’m in search of a Luke Skywalker RotJ-style costume. My purpose is 2 fold:

  1. I’m going to the Renaissance Festival next weekend and want to dress-up.

  2. My friends and I are all dressing-up for RotS, and I want to be Luke from RotJ.

This way, I get the most use out of the costume, but I’ve been looking all over the web to no avail.

Can anyone here help me out?

Great stuff. More testament to how deticated fans churn out far superior products than money-hungry executives. The time and effort you must be putting into this is amazing!

Couple of questions:

With all your features on alternate audio, I was surprised you didn't mention Ben's new dragon call.

Also, do you plan on finalizing this in DVD format when it's all said and done?

That is power.

YES!!!!!!!!!!

While I don't agree with the last part about the memory-wipe stuff, Vader destroying Naboo would have been incredible, and tied in with the story and that line so well.
