Yes! This is an excellent move on Lucas' part. The last step would be for Oz to re-record his lines in a deeper voice so he sounds like Yoda from the rest of the saga and not Grover (though I seriously doubt that will ever happen). Man, Yoda was just totally botched in Episode 1.
Interesting to note that it does not appear to be a mere "cut & paste" job, as you can tell from that shot the the bodies are different as well. I was afraid that if this change ever did come about they would just CG Yoda's face and leave the body as-is.
Oh, and one more thing; where does this leave Yaddle? Maybe it would be best to just replace her with another Council Member seen in AotC (the dinosaur guy, perhaps)?
Funny, Titanic was the first one I thought of too.
Lord of the Rings has a pretty weak, forced romance between Aragorn and Arwen. He and Eowyn had much better chemistry and would have been a more natural pairing, IMO. I guess I'm just a sucker for unrequited love.
I KNOW there was a thread about this very thing in this very forum, but for the life of me I can't seem to find it.
My question is a two-parter: I now have Adobe After Effects, and am very excited about using it to rotoscope lightsaber duels. However, not only do I need to instructions on how to do it, I also need to know how to get video off of a DVD and into a format that you can edit. I have loaded the DVD onto my computer with DVD Decrypter, and now everything is is TS files. What do I need to do to transfer it to an editable form? Any help would be much appreciated.
The nightmare looks AWESOME. The only thing I would be against is the overlaying of Anakin squirming in bed. We should see what he sees in the dream, and then CUT to the close up of his eyes snapping open. This would fit-in with the way the dreams were done in RotS.
The shot of the guard in the Naboo ship seems squeezed horizontally. Maybe it's a after effect of you cropping it from full screen, and it'll looks fine in motion.
The platform shot looks fine; I guess you just wanted a closer view of the explosion.
The de-saturated shot of Coruscant is EXCELLENT. It looks REAL!!! And although I have no idea of your reason for flipping the shot, it looks even better that way!
The binary sunest looks very washed out and faded, but I assume this is to match the new color scheme of the scene and not be an exact copy of the one from ANH.
Excellent work on the balcony. Before everything looked too blue, as you noted. My only concern with these shots is that their faces seem to be a bit grainy. Of course this maybe nothing and it might look fine in motion.
It's so great to finally see our ideas being realized! Keep up the good work, you're a real Trooper, man. (Ok, that was lame. Sorry.)
Walter Koening, George Takei, and Nichelle Nichols.
The sad news just keeps piling up lately. Roger Clemens' mother died yesterday as well; he had hoped she would be able to see him inducted into the Hall of Fame, as his father died some years ago. He made his scheduled start yesterday anyway in her honor and won. A true gamer.
I would find this a bit interesting, but the negative light it puts Star Wars in is a definite put-off, as it seems the only reason SW is mentioned is to attract attention to itself. I'm with skyjedi; both a Christian and a Star Wars fan (in that order!), it really irks me when relgious leaders say how SW warps people's minds into believing false teaching or whatver. If anything, SW is a GOOD influence on society as a clean good vs. evil story which deals with such concepts as faith and redemption. But I can see the opposing viewpoint when you consider there are people around the world who classify their relegion as "Jedi" in cenus.
Sequel Trilogy casting is a whole different topic, but since you brought it up:
Luke, Leia, Han, Lando, Chewebacca, and the droids would obviously have to be played by the original actors. If there were to be force spirits, Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen would have to replace Alec Guinnes and Sebastian Shaw. Liam Neeson and Frank Oz could reuturn as Qui-Gon and Yoda if necessary.
As for the rest of the cast: Mara Jade: Dina Meyer Jacen Solo: Sean Patrick Flannery (Nice choice!) Jaina Solo: Claire Danes Anakin Solo: Jake Lloyd (If he can act as a young adult, sure.)
And just because I think they'd be perfect in the roles: Grand Admiral Thrawn: Jeremy Irons Joruus C'Boath: Donald Sutherland
If someone could PM me about acquiring the complete RIC 2-Disc set with all the extras, that would be wonderful.
To complete the Extended Superman Trilogy or whatever you want to call it, a collection along these lines would be excellent if somone could make it possible:
Superman: The Movie - KCOP TV Version Bonus Material (Trailers/The Making of Superman: The Movie)
Superman III - Extended TV Version Bonus Material (Trailers/The Making of Superman III)
Sadly I don't think there's anything to expand on Superman IV as of yet. The popular stance is that all the lost footage was destroyed, but I've also heard evidence to the contrary. We'll just have to hope for an anthology set like Batman's to be released next year after Superman Returns. The odds are low for a restoration of IV, but it would be an absolute crime not to do a special edition for II. It's exactly the kind of movie the DVD format was made for.
I was also thinking Jamie Foxx, but settled on Sam Jackson, not thinking that DUH, he'd already have a character in Star Wars. Denzel Washington is one of my favorite actors, but I don't he'd be a good fit for the part of Lando.
There was a long thread about this in the General Discussion forum, but fear it's been lost in the oblivion of old posts. There were a lot of good suggestions on the opening scroll as well.
^Interesting to note, the two pictures on the left come from Superman III.
Also, I am a HUGE Superman fan and would love to get ahold of any extended cuts and behind the scenes material that's available. I know the Superman II: RIC is a 2-disc collection of both, but are there similar fan sets for the KCOP Superman I and TV Superman III with respective bonus material? If not, someone should get on that; I'd order all three from whoever might be willing to put something along those lines together, and I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one. Maybe somone's already done this and I just over looked it; if so, please let me know!
Luke: Heath Ledger Leia: Keira Knightley Han: Hugh Jackman Obi-Wan: Ian McKellen Vader: Hugo Weaving (voice) Tarkin: Ralph Finnes Lando: Samuel L. Jackson Palpatine: Christopher Walken
I read somewhere on the Behind the Magic CD there is a scene mentioned where Vader tell Tarkin they shouldn't destory Alderaan without consulting the Emperor. A shame it was not included in the film, if true.
