Idea: Revenge of the Sith: Extended Edition

That's not the only problem; what about Yoda's dialogue? I doubt the scene will ever be released since without Qui-Gon it is incomplete. He's one of my favorite actors, and I am seriously dissapointed. Shame on him for not returning for would have taken him, what, five minutes maximum? What I really don't like is how everything was kept under the radar; the way it was handled in AotC was acceptable (although I still cringe at the "NO!"), but we were promised something much more extensive in RotS, with Lucas and Neeson both dropping hints he'd return. I can't believe something could not be worked out between them.

No Padme (we might as well chuck in Jar Jar as with Padme not force trained)

Right, that's why I said Qui-Gon would appear after Luke and Leia rejoin the party. And with Padme, can everyone see where I'm coming from with that?

Star Wars: Deleted Magic (Released)
Time
Well if you wanted to expand the format a bit considering the lack of material.

One scene I had in mind, for example, would be the conversation between Vader and Palpatine at the beginning of the RotJ radio drama. A "live action" version of this could be edited together from the ESB hologram scene (either version). Palpatine's lips wouldnt sync-up the whole time, but it might be something fun to experiment with. Then of course there is the whole scene with Luke contructing his lightsaber.

Mace will never be a force spirit; he did not learn the secret of immortality taught to Obi-Wan and Yoda by Qui-Gon. According to Lucas, they "caught" Anakin on the other side, although I'd much prefer it if Anakin just dissapeared after his death and it was assumed since he was the Chosen One it was natural for him to become one with the force. What I would like to see (I've posted this before), is this:

-Luke looks off to the distance.
-Old Obi-Wan and Yoda are there, and old Anakin appears.
-Luke smiles at them, and Leia comes over to him ].
-Old spirits transform into their prequel trilogy selves, dressed appropriately (no cut-and-paste jobs).
-Luke and Leia join the rest of the group.
-Qui-Gon appears beside them and the group acknowledges each other.
-Final shot of the OT characters.
-NEW final shot of SAGA characters, the spirits.

Since the saga is really about Anakin, the final shot should feature him and the other full-saga characters. That, and I never liked that last shot of laughing Leia, clapping Lando, and dancing Ewoks. A new, triumphant musical cue should also be added to end the saga with an emotional bang. It would be nice to see Padme there with the rest of the spirits, to have Anakin reunited with his love and Luke and Leia see their mother, but the logistics of explaining how that would be possible would outrage many fans I'm sure. In my opinion, NOT seeing Padme really weakens the saga; what kind of happy ending is it when we're left to assume the hero's love is lost to oblivion? All that aside, seeing Qui-Gon makes perfect sense as he is the reason the rest of them are there in the first place.

Episode II: Shroud of the Dark Side (the TM edit) (Released)

Don't worry about timely responses TM; we all know you're a busy man and you'll get around to it eventually. Most of us don't have all day to spend on the forum anyway. I'm glad you appreciate the input, and that's what makes this project so great. People like Rebel_1138, MTHaslett, and myself working along with you to put together the best possible version of Epsiode II. You answered all my questions in regards to your last post, and I eagerly await your next update. As for the ever-brought-up release date, how does May 2006 sound, in keeping with true Star Wars tradition?

No, and yes.

The refit Enterprise was the same ship from TOS, until it was destroyed in Star Trek 3. In Star Trek 4, the crew was given a new ship of the same design, but to differentiate between the old and new Enterprise, "-A" was added to the registry number.

I know this is old but I've been meaning to mention it for a while. In "The Clone War" cover, you can still see Anakin's lightsaber original color because of the green aura around his hand. Before a final version of these go out, which won't be for a while, I just wanted to bring that to someone's attention.

Superman Movie

Justin Whalin.

I actually don't remember him too much, so maybe when the rest of the series comes out on DVD I'll end up liking him best. I just really dislike it when characters are recast. In the DVDs they reveal the reason Landes was replaced was that he looked too much like Dean Cain. I found that to be pretty silly, considering it didn't cause any complications for an entire season. Whatever.

Superman Movie
Time
So for those of you who are big Superman fans here, who do you think were the best live-action representations of the main cast of characters? A few months ago my list would have been totally different, but this summer I bought Season 1 of "Lois & Clark," and it has quickly become one of my favorite adaptations of the Superman legend. An excellent season of an excellent show. Unfortunately from what I've heard it just isn't the same in later seasons, but being the completist I am I'm doomed to get the complete series. All that said:

Clark Kent/Superman: Christopher Reeve
Lois Lane: Terri Hatcher
Lex Luthor: John Shea (this is a hard one; before watching L&C I would have easily said Michael Rosenbaum)
Jonathan Kent: John Schneider
Martha Kent: Anette O'Toole
Perry White: Lane Smith
Jimmy Olsen: Michael Landes
Jor-El: Marlon Brando

This is an interesting list because, for me anyway, it shows what versions handled what aspects of Superman the best. The movies excelled in the larger-than-life superhero aspect, messiah parallels, and the history of Krypton. Lois & Clark best showed life in Clark's everyday life as a mild mannered reporter in Metropolis and his supporting cast at the Daily Planet. Smallville is great at showing the influence and importance of his adoptive parents, and brings out Clark's struggles of using his powers for good, but also his wish at times to be normal.

If they did that, they might as well digitize Chewie or every storm trooper. There really is no reason to do it.

Exactly. I'm sure a CGI Artoo would fix the problem of him going down stairs, and hey, then they could show his rocket boosters in the OT! And George wasn't too happy with the look of the cantina; why not just replace all the creatures with CG aliens?

This can get out of hand very quickly.

Idea & Info: the IMAX film 'Special Effects'
Time
I remember seeing this at the IMAX when I was a kid before the Special Editions came out. Exciting stuff.

Unfortunately the documentary itself was not released, rather "Behind the Scenes With King Kong In Special Effects," a half-hour NOVA special about the making of the King Kong segment that opened the show. Being a huge Kong fan we of course bought it anyway; it's very interesting, but I still wish they would have released the actual documentary.

Also, am I the only one who thinks, other than the laser blast special effects, the original sequence is better than the IMAX version?
