STAR WARS: EP VI -RETURN OF THE JEDI "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - ** PRODUCTION HAS NOW RESTARTED **

Cutting any of the emperor’s early scenes would be a mistake as he is the primary villain of the film (Vader is a protagonist in ROTJ, not an antagonist. I actually wrote an essay on this in college for a story development course). We need to see the villain being villainous BEFORE the climax of the film so we know him well enough and so we see how he actively is a force against our hero’s mission so we root against him. It’s not enough to have him randomly pop up at the end and act all menacing. As great as the throne room climactic scenes are, they can’t stand on their own from a story perspective.

I see your point. We’d be in a way Darth Mauling him.

I want to bitch about my English class and my teacher - I don’t hate the subject but she in 2 weeks made me hate it. I don’t mind doing homework nor do I think it’s a pain or anything negative, but I dislike her to the point where I refuse to do her homework. I’m the one being negatively impacted by not doing my homework but I refuse. I guess it’s the actual teenager in me. I’m glad that in less than 4 months it’ll all be over. God I hate her.

I wanna say that seeing the Emperor just being around and bossing Vader and everyone talking about how scary and powerful he is basically raises tension for when we get to the throne room with Luke. But it’s an interesting idea to meet him when Luke does.

In short I agree with 005 and ray. But it’d be interesting to see a RotJ version where we only meet the Emperor when Luke does.

I saw a Youtube video that posited that Holdo calculated to hit the ships at the moment before the ship entered hyperspace, when the ship was travelling at relativistic speeds, and applies physics to it to explain why it makes sense (and yet sort of doesn’t).

Nerdist: The Physics Behind The Last Jedi’s Coolest Scene! (Because Science w/ Kyle Hill)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1M95njhovw

With regard to how it doesn’t makes sense, he says that if the math works out, her ship hitting the fleet at relativistic speeds should have atomized the entire fleet rather than merely breaking the ships in half.

I guess that the scene established that the GFFA doesn’t obey this specific law of physics, and at the same time it does. I mean, it obeys it, but the result is only a fraction of what the actual result IRL would be. I guess that also means that the power of the impact any Rebel cruiser could create on the Death Star wouldn’t be enough to destroy it?

Anyway, I remember leaving the theater and overhearing a considerable amount of people (even the people who I went to watch it with) asking “why didn’t she simply lightspeed herself into the FO before? Or why have they never done that before? It’s so useful and overpowered…” So even if I don’t have a problem with that I totally understand why some people would.

The way I understand hyperspace working is that it’s a dimension weakly coupled to normal space, so that ships traveling through hyperspace would still need to ‘avoid’ masses but a crash would primarily affect the object in hyperspace. Under this theory, any ship going to Hyperspace would damage that ship far more than the target.

But what if the hyperspace tracking technology used by the Supremacy means that the ship is always partially in Hyperspace? After all, some part of the ship would need to interact with this dimension at all times for it to work. Under this theory, the First Order is undone by its own technology and hubris rather than an overpowered exploit of the ill-defined rules of the universe.

I can agree with the first paragraph. I have no idea what the second even means though.

My mother began pressing me to talk to her tonight. She seems to think I’m still depressed (I am, but I can’t let her know that I’m too bad). She tried to convince me to stay home at a local university this fall, but I don’t think I can make myself stay. Then again, if I leave, I don’t think I’ll survive. My gay ass deserves to rot. I don’t see what the point in living is, I’m never truly going to be happy, I’m never going to let myself for one reason or another.

Hey coffee. That must be one of the toughest situations… I don’t really know what to tell you. I am going to say that we’re all here for you, but that doesn’t really help.

Please don’t give life up, it’s the greatest gift one could receive (from god, if you believe in such things). From all that you’ve posted here in the forum that I’ve seen I can tell you’re one hell of a smart guy, and very kind too. You’re a nice person, a person that I’d love to know IRL and have a friendship with. And I only know the unhappy you, which really makes me wish I knew the happy you.

Some friends of mine also have trouble telling their parents the truth sometimes because their parents are incomprehensible to say the least. That was never the case with any of my gay friends, so to hear that incomprehensible religious parents have a gay depressed child in you makes me want to just hug you and tell you that everything is going to be all right.

And everything is going to be all right, coffee.

Please believe that.

About college, is it possible for you to go to a smaller school where you know a close friend of yours is going? Sorry if the suggestion is absolutely absurd - the college system in the US still confuses me a little bit. But maybe a smaller school could be nicer than a big one, less overwhelming, more personal classes, get to know people… And if the situation is so bad at home, try to leave, as hard as it may seem. Even if you don’t, I believe in you, and I believe that you can. Yes, you can. I believe that you can go out there and conquer the world instead of die trying.

Your gay ass doesn’t deserve to rot, quite the opposite. Like I said, you’re a wonderful person from what I’ve seen so far and I honestly think it’s safe to say that I’ve seen enough to be sure that I am right. Don’t say things like that, it’s almost as if you’re either convinced of it or is trying to convince yourself of it. Please don’t. You’re more than that and I wouldn’t want you to think otherwise.

I can’t ask you much, but I will ask you to believe that things will get better and that you’re a very nice guy that doesn’t deserve to rot.

Finally, I wanted to say how sorry I am for basically talking and talking and not saying anything really impactful… but know that I’m sending you much love. For real. I hope you eventually see a purpose in life coffee, even if not because you, but because you’ll be making other people really happy, which doesn’t seem to hard given how likeable you are.

Hoping for the best. Hang in there, bud. 😉

I thought that going to a school movie night would be great, but instead I have not made any new friends. 😕

I can relate to this. Hang in there buddy, I know it’s pretty depressing, but you’ll be fine soon. When you’re home just wrap yourself in a blanket and watch one of your favorite movies/tv shows and try to have some delicious food. 😕

I have a youtube channel just so I can comment on videos when I want. I have posted no videos or anything else. Yet I was notified that someone subscribed to my channel. Why would they do that?

It’s likely to be someone who hopes you’ll follow back or someone running some sort of scheme with shady links to shady stuff. Could be a bot. Or a secret admirer. Maybe they just want to keep their eyes on you.

It’s JediTemple34.

Jesus I was caught off guard and simply laughed out loud in the middle of the living room. I wasn’t a member here nor was I a frequent spectator during JediTemple34’s era, but I seem to remember coming to this place checking for links and ending up in off topic with some people discussing how ignorant the man was. I remember laughing, too.

This and Boba being Jango’s son are enough reasons for why someone should watch your versions over theatrical. Objectively infinitely better movies too.

Boba, clone or not, he’s still the son of Jango 😃 (in both case he’s even the biological son of Jango)

It’s less weird this way and we can get rid of Morrison in ESB without messing up canon.

Yeah, V5 is not out yet. It’s in progress, and is intended as FINAL.

About Threepio saying “Master Anakin,” that’s fine. It’s just that 3PO was “built by” Anakin that I tried to take the emphasis off of. (Head canon is that 3PO was built over 100 years BBY and Anakin found him all torn apart and fixed him up.)
