Perhaps a portion of the shot could be used only to cover the last part of the Poe shot where he says “every one we knock out is a world saved.” And leave the timing how it was.

Definately use the extended ILM shot adds so much with as small as it is. The only line I didn’t like was “We believe in you Poe” to be totally honest just doesn’t work, nothing against the person who recorded it just wasn’t right taste for scene imo. Think it would be better as something else or removed entirely, they kinda just shouted over music beat too.

Moving the Star Destroyer scene to after they meet Lando feels so much more like Star Wars to me.

That said, I’d be curious to know if you think the move is worth it.

I also added a couple growls from Chewie that just helps to make that whole sequence less awkward.

That works a lot better, only thing that needs smoothing out is the audio transitioning but good job, hope It makes it into Ascendant, hopefully theres some more scenes where this can be pulled off, the more changes the better as long as they fit.

Kinda sad Wedge is only pilot we see, wish we had a couple more cameos during that scene

I think the only way to work out the logic would that you’d have to have either the stormtrooper or (disguised) Lando say something else.

They’re both masked with altered voices and have just a few lines a piece, so that makes it easier.

It would have to play out something like this:

1. Rey: “We have to get to the Falcon. It’s Ren.”
2. The group runs through the crowd.
3. Stormtrooper: “What’s this commotion about? Who are you? Let’s see some ID/scan docs.”
4. Masked Man (aka Lando) shoots the stormtrooper, then: “Follow me.”
5. The group returns to Lando’s transport.
6. Star Destroyer sequence.

Obviously, not something that needs to be included in this edit. But I do think it would help the pacing if it can be pulled off.

That could work, really need to see a cleaner concept first.

You could keep that bit and remove “alert the local troops” from the Kylo scene, but with the stormtrooper identifying them the necklace thing would be pointless.

Lando killing stormtrooper needs to stay, shouldn’t get cut.

I prefer music stay as it is in that final scene.

I think the white robes are most fitting as they are the last robes he wears before becoming Kylo Ren / falling to darkside, he was wearing the white robes when he turned against Luke.

Just a thought, sorry to labour the point, what if Finn’s line of ‘we just landed’ is replaced with foley like crunching leaves etc, giving a bit of breathing space in his sudden appearance. I still think though that Finn and Rey (the best of best friends) basically ignore each other by cutting out the previous scene.

Still it is weird that they hug at relief of seeing each other when they practically see each other everyday.

Looked through the Knights of Ren dialgoue and personally a lot of it doesn’t work in my opinion. I think Poppa’s KOR sounds best worked really well on Kajimmi when knight steps out of alleyway, I don’t think dialogue is needed during Forging sequence and Pasanna lines available aren’t very good.

Also liked Axlanians lines on Exogal. KOR wilhelm is nice.

I played with the Palpatine message, but I think it’s very effective to have the message end in static as Poe looks down and hearing everyone react audibly, moreso than any particular contents of the speech. So, I think what is in the workprint is as good as that’s going to get.

I think “The work of generations is complete” would be nice to have.
DOTF should end when Rey hits ground, doesn’t flow well after in my opinion thats how I originally intended it anyway

New work print has an extra DOTF after Rey jumps, it seems very out of place in-terms of timing.
Also camera movement feels very missing from Naboo shot,

The latest workprint I have has no mention of lightspeed skipping, looks like Hal already cut it, or am I completely misunderstanding what you’re trying todo?
