You can try to decode the incomplete files to give you more blocks, then try again to use the par2 files, but 94 files incomplete files is a sizable number!  You can also try to redownload some of them and see if you have better luck the second time: that has worked for me on occasion.

Other than that EvilSupes is correct.  You need more par2 files.  :=(

I believe this is just the 2004 version of ESB colour corrected and with the 1997 LD 5.1 surround sound.

In the very least, there is also the original emperor and a flipped shot of medals on Imperial officers' uniforms that was discussed in the restored theatrical version thread.  What other differences do you believe there were between 1997 and 2004 that Adywan left unaltered?  It seems pretty close to me.

I can't help you with anything else.  I'm sorry.

ADigitalMan's Guide to MPEG2/AC3 Editing

Does it make a difference if you edit at 23.976p or 29.97i?  I've always just assumed the editing should be with progressive frames whenever you can.

23.976p is best.  Your work can suffer from blending problems if you don't.

It's always better to remove the pulldown flags, then edit.  After all, it's easy enough to put them back afterwards with dgpulldown, so why risk problems? :-)

That's a thought!  Encoding the lossless AVI produced by the scripts to h.264 should look appreciably better than MPEG-2.  Is there any chance that you could make an MKV available?  If so, please PM me. :-)

If successful, it would be the first time anyone has successfully blent lower quality footage into higher quality footage in any theatrical restoration, let alone an HD one.

What about Clive Revill in Ady's ESB AVCHD?

Well, I was thinking of original theatrical, rather than 1997 theatrical, but you are right.  :-P

Blent?  Is that a word?

It's archaic, but I prefer original English irregular verbs.

@Ripplin and TV's Frink, thank you.   :-)

@Ziz, yes; many people seem to have a problem with part 1.

I'm testing out the possibility of doing a 720p version but only if the lower quality footage blends in to my satisfaction

Ooohhh is right.  If successful, it would be the first time anyone has successfully blent lower quality footage into higher quality footage in any theatrical restoration, let alone an HD one.

An XviD AVI is now available on tehPARADOX.  PM me if you need links.

Don't look at me, apparently my network is so slow that people have already downloaded, burned and watched the entire movie and I still have a couple hours of download to go!

I'm not.  :-)  AvP has said he will upload this.  If he won't, I will - with the "fix".

Saves people who already downloaded from having to download another 5 GB.

Indeed!  Moreover, when someone posts to another download service, they could upload it with the "fix" implemented.  :-)

Thank you again, Adywan, for your willingness to oblige your troublesome fans. :-D

I spotted a slight audio error on the DVD when watching it last night but nothing major. I'd just forgot to remove one sound effect of the falcons hatch closing when Lando pulls luke inside that was added for the SE.

I would never have noticed, so it doesn't bother me personally.  Do you plan to "correct" this, though, in a later release?  I just thought I'd ask before I send out copies to friends, whom it might bother a little.

If someone with access to newsgroups (I, for one, don't have a subscription and my ISP doesn't include free access) could then mirror that to another uploading system, that would be great.

AvP has already indicated his willingess to do this.  Browse back in the thread a bit, mate.  :-)

Now this isn't a 100% true theatrical version as i didn't want to use the low quality GOUT to replace the newly zoomed and cropped cockpit shots that appear in the SE version but all of the SE elements have been removed.

That's as near as damn it, and I'd imagine that few of us will care too much about those minor differences.  Thank you, Adywan.  :-)
